1 Stars: THE MOST DISHONEST PEOPLE YOU CAN LEAVE YOUR DOGS WITH (by cyahn02)

I wish you can mark places with negative stars.. this place is ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE! NEVER bring your dogs here. All over their website, it says that they don't put the dogs in cages..yeah right! They had provided my friend with a username and password so that she can watch her dogs play while she was on vacation.. and one day it didn't work.. then she had called in and told them it wasn't working and I guess one of the workers had given her the admin password to the cameras that surveillance the entire place. What do you know.. she saw her two dogs in crates!!! This place is a scam! I think before I started writing this review.. I read in one of the reviews that someone saw the workers kick the crates that had dogs in them! Wow.. how is this place not shut down?
My friend had then called the place to tell them that she saw her dogs in crates and then the worker said "that's cause your dogs were fight with each other".. what do you know!! they were in the same cage.. What kind of moron puts two fighting dogs in the same cage.. if you want your dogs to be in the care of people that mistreat dogs and lie to your face.. then go for it!

1 Stars: Would NOT recommend (by tacred)

I had a bad experience at Urban Out Sitters in the West Loop. The place is disorganized and not clean. But even worse they don't pay attention to your dog during daycare. There are much better places to take your dog right in the neighborhood.

5 Stars: sip knowledge at its source (by urban3241)

This is reference to the post BEWARE: many fraudulent reviews... Sara Travis in fact was a former employee of Urban Out Sitters. Although her heart was in the right place; her termination in the Summer of '08 (not '07) was a result of, unsatisfactory work - she could not meet UOS growth or wanted to extend herself beyond the necessary tasks for the treatment for each dog. Her much needed release - consequently allowing her to pursue her true passions in life (photography and making coffee) - bridged the way for a generation of professionals, each one with a limitless thirst to work and attention to detail - brushing, bathing, walking and loving each animal as their own.

After much time has passed; Sara feels there is some relevance to attack UOS; A company she once had a strong, endearing liking toward. More to date - UOS has in place already - a strong connection with each client and employee - it was asked by each group on a number of dates to post a review sharing their experiences with the facility.

Post Ms Travis's termination in '08 - She is not aware of who HAS or is CURRENTLY working for UOS (a fact is there has been five employees with the name Chris, plus the one she is referring too.) and also any reviewer can generate any desired name. Her overall lack of knowledge and insight into UOS does not justify her to insinuate a charge of wrong doing.

To reference the negative posts; allegedly toward every dog daycare facility within the Chicago area - It is not surprising to most that Yelp is currently under litigation, on a downward spiral thanks to the media - warranting invalid reviews, false advertising and slanderous attacks toward a good business.

Taking an unbaised approach - Sara should spend her past time focusing on her photography and sipping lattes.
"sip knowledge at its source"

1 Stars: BEWARE: many fraudulent reviews... (by weegirl23)

I'm writing as an former employee. I'd like to preference this by saying that I am not a newly terminated disgruntled employee. I worked for UO for nearly 2 years and really did love my job. I loved all your dogs! I'll be the first to admit that I needed some K-9 companions in my life and totally used all of your pets to fill that void :O) I miss Beau and Maddie and Bella and Jake and Frankie and Jones and Boone and all the rest! (yes we love your dogs and remember them after 2 years!)

I worked at the Randolf facility in the beginning, but was thankfully transferred to Lakeview after a few months. The daycare facility at Lakeview was great! I say "was", because I can no longer give an opinion to its current state. I was last there in the summer of 07', and this is what leads me to writing this review now.

After reading reviews from this site, I have to say that most are fraudulent. Many caught me as suspicious, especially because I knew that in 07' one of the owners was caught creating fake reviews. There is one in particular that is supposedly written from an employee named Chris Tinkell on June 24th, 08. Well unfortunately I worked with a Chris while at UO who left the same time I did, and his dog Stevie was brought on occasion. He left the company when I did, and I know for a fact that the current staff does not include anyone named Chris who brings their dog daily.

So in conclusion... Please read the reviews carefully. It's very suspicious that most of them are written on the same days and are all very vague on their actual experiences. If I am completely wrong in this matter, PLEASE contact me "christinkell07" and I will retract this review immediately.

Please check out the reviews on Yelp
They are true and unbiased. Andy only adds to my suspicion when this site tells you they are a 5 star facility and those who review on Yelp see the company as a 1 star organization.

1 Stars: Go Somewhere Else... (by DB2463)

This place is terrible - period. The owner cares more about creating fake positive reviews than for caring for your pet. There are so many better daycare/boarding facilities in Chicago.

5 Stars: Best Dog Day Care. (by therichconnell)

My dogs come home tired and happy! They get the fun of playing with the other dogs and the attention of a devoted and very kind staff. Personal attention, excellent facilities, reasonable costs, and a warm caring atmosphere. Have recommended them to many people, all of whom have been delighted!

5 Stars: My dog loves it here . (by sccitysurvivor)

I brought in my dog for a temperament test while touring the facilities. My dog did well on her temperament test and I brought her the next day. She seemed very content and happy when they brought her out to the lobby. She had never been to daycare before, so I was worried she would be traumatized. She certainly wasn't though! This place also walks your dog outside thru out the day which I believe no other place does. I would highly recommend trying out this place.

5 Stars: One of my better experiences in daycare :) (by polkalover3)

I have a little dog who is fairly shy. I have lived in the area for awhile but hadn't heard about this place until the Market Days festival when I walked by. SoI decided to try with my dog there. I felt content with leaving her here and she seems to have been doing fine so far. I was afraid on the first day that she might come home shaking in fear as she did after a day at another daycare...but she seemed very content. I was told that she did not play very much with other dogs during her day their, but that she did play with the humans a little bit. Hopefully with time she will warm up to other dogs more.

5 Stars: Great Place (by jessgurlygirl)

This daycare is so nice. I found them on the web and went in for a tour. Everyone there is so friendly. The two little receptionists Tommy and the little short one (Adam) were some of the nicest people I've ever met. Everyone truly loves animals here and I am at ease knowing my pets stay there. It's a little hard to find at first, but they have a map on google, or call and they will get you there.

5 Stars: The Best Around (by samdi2008)

I have been taking my Bichon Frise to Urban Out Sitters for daycare since they opened. They are fantastic! I have taken him to other places in the past who insisted they do not crate during the day, but he never came home tired. I disliked that these place kept the animals crated most of the time. I never crate him, so it was very unsettling for both of us. I have never had that problem with urban. They do an amazing job. My little Prince comes home absolutely fantastic and happy. The prices for their services can't be beat, and brush outs are free with daycare. The entire staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. I can't say enough nice things about them. They are truly great people who care for their customers (2 and 4 legged) and it shows. I trust them fully. In my opinion, there is no better place for you and your pet.

5 Stars: Fun for dogs of all kinds (by torresjason5)

I feel so comfortable taking my 2 dogs to Urban OutsItters. One is big and one is little, luckily they have rooms separating them with friends of their own size. The place is so clean and the staff is not only nice, they really seem overjoyed to be there. I like that they offer additional services such as training, lord knows the little one needs it at the end of a long day of playing. And a good long day of playing it is because they don't give naps in crates like so many of these other places that my spoiled babies will never see the inside of. I think if you are a discriminating dog owner, you will find Urban to be one of the best.

5 Stars: miss this place so much (by lbmangers)

I absolutely LOVE this place. I used to live in Lakeview and took my babies there almost everyday. The owner is an angel to dogs and owners alike. The care given to the dogs that go there is so incredible. They takes time to know all the issues of the dogs, they don't make them go in crates for naptime in the middle of the day, and you can tell they truly care about each dog attending. Me and my doggies miss the staff so much that occasionally I will drive all the way out there for them to have a special day. It's totally worth it!

5 Stars: Glad to have you in the neighborhood. (by narinosyer)

I know that the services that was agreed upon (pick up and doggie daycare) were delivered. My G. seemed fine. He apparently slept really well on the nights after his visits to the daycare. That said, I've had a number of exchanges with Adam at the Lakeview location - he's responsible, representing well, and he's got really great energy that works well with the dogs. I really like him, and it's clear that G, likes him a lot as well. Thanks for the opportunity to give my feedback. Glad to have you in the neighborhood.

5 Stars: A good place to take your dog (by crlchng021)

We really like Urban! Our dog has been going there for about a year now. It is really nice inside and they can usually fit us in with our hectic schedule. All the dogs get along, they just let them walk around and play all day, which is much better than caging them! The prices are comparable and it is an all around good place..

What can I say... This is the best place you could take your dog to and know that they're in good hands. I've been taking my baby boy for a year or so and I couldn't be happier with the way they treat him, it's like my guy is everyones' dog and they all love him to pieces! On our first visit to Urban , we were greeted by the owner himself which made us worried twosome at ease, the rest is history! Thank You!

Awesome shop, I have a siberian husky and he has been to several places and has always left frightened and stressed, he wouldn't even go back into a couple places. Then I found Urban Outsitters, who have huskys clients running around and obviously understands them. Kate is fabulous - She groomed him for me and he enjoys going to see her. This is the first place I have ever taken him where he is happy when I pick him up! The staff seem to always be having fun and the dogs absolutely feel that vibe. These guys are awesome!!!

5 Stars: Best doggie daycare! (by chiwritere)

My dog LOVES this place. He's 12 and sorta edgy -- ok, I'll be honest, he starts annoying other dogs in the park all the time. But he's a changed canine since going to Urban Out Sitters. Now, he's a lover, not a fighter. He drags me an entire block to get there. The staff is honest and so nice. Once, my dog had a scratch on his ear (from the park) and they called to let me know about it.

5 Stars: Terrific Dog Service! (by pattytyper)

UOS is an amazing place! The staff is honest, down to earth and great with all the dogs! Our dog is in love with with Michael! He knows all the little quirks our dog has and has given us great advice on how to handle him in our apartment. This is a well run business and you can tell they all love their jobs. We have seen great improvement in our dogs attitude toward people and other dogs! I would recommend them to everyone! Can't beat their services!

5 Stars: Man's Best Friend's Best Friend! (by jckchcago)

I recently adopted a rescue puppy and as soon as I brought him home I contacted several places that care for puppies and walk/exercise dogs. Urban Out Sitters got back to me the same day and set up a meeting immediately. We went over and for them to meet my puppy and seemed to be genuinely interested in the what his needs were going to be as he grew. Of course, we went through the standard forms and dollars and cents stuff too, but he spent more time asking me questions that would help his team best care for my new puppy. He explained how they were able to tailor their service to my puppy's changing needs as he grew and with my preferences as his 'Daddy'. I have had a couple of negative situations where things haven't worked out to my satisfaction or a mistake has been made. I addressed it directly and it was always handled quickly and professionally. There is no run-around with these folks. Most of all, my puppy gets to see the same person consistently and has developed a positive rapport with him. I do not trust easily - especially when it comes to my precious puppy. I do not hesitate to recommend Urban Out Sitters to anyone I talk to. In fact, I have already referred one person! Simply put...I love 'em! I love 'em! I love 'em!

5 Stars: Most experienced- and it shows! (by kkhearns)

I started with Urban Outsitters in 2004 and have been extremely happy with their service. They are extremely professional and I feel confident knowing someone will always get back to me very quickly. My dog loves her dogwalker, and since she's been going, she has lost 5 pounds. I'm constantly impressed with their professionalism- both in the office and from the walkers my dog has had. I completely trust them with my baby and I highly recommend them to anyone.

5 Stars: Happy (and tired!) dog!! (by stacyremrks)

I boarded my terrier pup at UOS for 10 days last month, and I know he had a wonderful time (every time I went on the Internet and looked for him on the web-cameras, he was running around with the other dogs, and looked like he was having a blast)! This was the first time I had boarded him at a kennel where he played all day, and what a great way to get him into shape! I think he's more confident and more out-going than before. I found the staff to be very caring and helpful (I called a couple of times to be sure he was eating, and they all knew about his "hiding some for later" habit !!). I would highly recommend for anyone who isn't overprotective and who really understands that dogs LOVE to be dogs !

5 Stars: Awesome Place for Pups! (by torispldng)

Our dog Winston had such a great time - the staff took really good care of him and made sure he had lots of fun. He gets so excited everytime we round the corner to go! I've watched when I drop him off - he has a blast on the play equipment. He is pooped out when he gets home - and crashes. I love the staff and so does Winney.

5 Stars: They're the best! (by cackerman30)

My 7 month old puppy loves the Urban sitters. The staff is so honest. They will tell you exactly what your dog has been up to. That makes me feel very comfortable leaving my puppy there. They notice the littlest scratches on my dog and let me know if the dog has any loose stools. The care they give my baby is outstanding. Second to none!

5 Stars: my dog loves them! (by gratagels)

I was recommended to this daycare by a co-worker. I can honestly say that the staff at urban is the most caring i've ever encountered. They gave me great pointers on how to train my new puppy. My dog has never seems very comfortable at this place. When my puppy sprained his leg over a weekend at the dog park, I told them this when dropping him off at daycare. They called me during the day to tell me his progress and next day with a follow up call to make sure he was doing okay. I love, love, love this daycare!

5 Stars: My dog - the happiest pooch since going to daycare! (by shtowner42)

This month was the 3rd Anniversary of our little rescue dog joining our family. She's a high-energy girl and needs a doggie day care! The first 1-1/2 years we sent her to a good facility however this facility did not separate the dogs by personality or size - so she was still a little crazy and fearful being with the large dogs. We switched to Urban Out Sitters on the recommendation of many of our friends. (They do separate dogs by temperment and size) You know they do love your dog. My little girl has had a total personality change since going to Urban Out Sitters - she was always sweet, but now she has manners - yes really -- and she is one happy pooch! She loves playing with the little dogs and she loves the staff -- these guys are great. It's obvious to me that we made the right move when we brought her to the UOS family. Before there was always a fight getting her nails trimmed -- what am I talking about -- I couldn't even touch her feet or brush her. Now after the crew has groomed her and trimmed her nails and brushed her teeth -- she trusts them and us -- they are gently loving and caring. Taking our girl to Urban Out Siters was one of the best decisions we have ever made -- I totally recommend this doggie day care - your dog will be happier for the experience.

I have been to several doggie daycare facilities. Urban Outsitters went out of their way to help me today after I had unexpectedly acquired a rescue dog. He was in desperate need of grooming. Not only did they clear their schedules to make room for us, but they also talked to me about the specifics of caring for a rescue. Their facilities was clean, smelled great, and they had enough staff on to take care of everyone needs without anyone waiting too long. I can and will recommend them to all my fellow pet lovers!

My calm, loving puppy turns into a crazy monster the minute we turn the corner on our walk to daycare. The fact that my puppy looked perfect after a long day of work was such a wonderful start to my weekend. I could not recommend them more. When I bring my black lab to the vet, which is across from his daycare, he cries heads toward his daycare and actually gets excited and drags me to the door. It's sort of like camp for him.

5 Stars: The Best Piece of mind! (by beastrly)

Everyone at urban out Sitters is friendly and they always greet you with a warm smile! Additionally, the dog is always greeted with a back scratch. I am always impressed that they remember both the dog owners name and the dogs name. They pay careful consideration to the details. The best part of the service is that my puppy can barely keep her eyes open on the way back home. It is such a piece of mind knowing that I can drop my puppy off and she gets plenty of attention and exercise!

I couldn't ask for a better spot-for Spot! He knows and loves the staff--not an easy trick for him--he's not a people person.
5 Stars: Peace of Mind (by aleblanch)

My bichon, does blitzes every time he sees the driver pick-up! I feel lucky to have found a place (who is almost like family at this point) to take care of my little guy. the staff at Urban are professional, reliable, and flexible. But most importantly, they are true animal-lovers through and through. I've never worried when I've gone out of town, and this is a big deal given that he takes a daily medication for a chronic health condition. I've tried to think of something constructive to say so that this review is helpful to people considering this service, but honestly it's hard to be constructive when I'm 100% satisfied!

Urban Out Sitters is a dream come true! I was so confident leaving my dog with them over the holidays and I am very picky! They are so professional and compassionate. Jackie asked all the right questions about how to make my pup comfortable and happy during her stay before I had to mention anything! I knew that my dog was going to love it there and sure enough she did! I would and will highly recommend Urban Out Sitters and Jackie for everything from boarding, dog walking to daycare. She is such a treasure!

Urban outsitters has been taking care of my family's dogs for as long as I can remember. We have always trusted them with our dogs & they always do a good job for us. It's one thing I don't have to worry about. All the assistants are all nice & my dogs seem to like them. They even board them when I have to travel out of town. If you knew us , you'd know how picky we are. We all are comfortable here & all our dogs.

5 Stars: People Who Care More About Dogs Then Ever!! (by ldleodaddy)

My Leo has been going there for Daycare, Grooming, and the occasional Boarding. He walks in the front door thinking that he owns the place, but all he wants to do is give all of her friends lots of kisses. Now L. can be grumpy with a lot of dogs, and very picky, but when he sees his girlfriends, he is as happy as can be. The staff at Urban Out SItters cares more about the animals there than anything else in the world, the TLC time is wonderful, but most of all the care of the pets is above and beyond! Thank you Urban Out Sitters for the last two years of making our lives so pleasent and remarkable, the memories will never be forgotten, and neither will you! You guys really know what your doing and I am proud to say I would take my prince there anytime!

I highly recommend Urban for Day Care and Boarding. My vet said they are the Cadillac of Kennels and was she right. Harley loves going and I have peace of mind that my baby is well taken care of. He has been going since he was 12 weeks old and has helped him be better socialized with people and his four legged friends. As soon as he started I noticed a difference in his behavior. By far, the store is the best I have seen since moving 3 years ago from WA, In addition, they defiantly have the best price in the city for daycare and grooming (even Pet Co and Pet Smart). Lastly, the one-on-one personal service you get at Urban is unmatched. They are very knowledgeable and truly treat my dog and me as if they have known me for years.
5 Stars: Excellent Dog Daycare Facility! (by mdstmopp)

I was extremely worried about where or with whom to leave my guy. I used a dog walker in the past. Then i began to look at different daycare facilities. Amongst all of them Urban Outsitters seemed like the perfect place for him and it certainly was. It was affordable, clean, comfortable, and the staff are great. My dog comes back as happy as can be. I was able to call while i was at work and check on him. He returns back many times since and with my mother getting older its becoming his "home away form home." I recommend this daycare for anyone who wants a safe and comfortable environment to leave their pet.

Review that may help you- Urban Out SItters daycare has been a great for my dogs for a number of years.. friendly service, and people who own the place love pets. This daycare is perfect for your dog to come and stay in a nice and warm or cool atmosphere with ample attention. I've never once had a problem with my dogs coming back of any sorts. I have always been told by the owner or the person working at the time, how well behaved and what they did on certain days... now talk about specialized attention. I would recommend Urban Out SItters to anyone.

The people who work at the UOS Lakeview are always friendly and seem to genuinely care about my dogs. My dogs like to go there, and that means a lot to us. As a side note, it is always clean inside and out!

I am originally from this area. Having lived in Lakeview and I have been to other daycares for my animals in this area and have never received the kind attention that I receive at the Urban OutsItters nearby. 5 stars, best daycare I've been to.

The daycare and expertise is wonderful! my dogs always have a good time. The staff are friendly and show great care for my babies! The place is a very nice open environment. I will never go elsewhere because unlike most places they are concerned with the well being of the animals.

Husband and I bring our little puggle to the Lakeview store It is located so close to our condo. I tell you, she wiggles and wiggles her way to the front door. Did I mention she has a huge ego and thinks she is a large dog. Not even more than 16 pounds I watch her take on a golden 5 times her size. That is the way she likes it, even at the dog parks. Thanks guys. Pick up and drop off service is a god sent. And not one problem to report.

4 Stars: My Doodle Loves this Place! (by FAdhi)

We started bringing Cameron our goldendoodle to UOS on Dayton after we realized that he needed more than just his daily dog walk. What a difference it makes! We bring Cameron in now 2 or more times a week and the guys there tell us he plays all day long. And he loves it - starts pulling us the minute we turn the corner into Dayton and he sees the place. He clearly loves it and his doggy pals there. What a difference it makes from having a frustrated overly pent up dog at nights verses having a well exercised pup. Only downside is the strong doggy odor but that's a small price to pay for a happy well exercised dog.

5 Stars: Happy camper (by jaybc25)

Flexibility is my favorite part. I probably make a few more last minute changes than they would like between the Dayton facility and the Randolph UOS. They cover Bella for everything (walks, day-care, boarding, etc). And Bella's happier to see they guy who picks her up in the mornings than she is to see me when I come home. She's happy so I'm happy. Couple minor things have popped up, but after almost two years it's nothing worth mentioning.

5 Stars: Daycare A+ (by naandyneil6)

My westie attends UOS about 2 visits a week. More when my boyfriend is out of town. I've noticed positive changes in his behavior since he began last winter. He suffers from separation anxiety when I leave, but when I bring him in for the day, he darts right into the store. When I make his lunch in the morning he knows we are going to see his friends. When I pick him up he is so tired in the evening. The staff tell me he continues to play all day.

We bring our Ann a golden shep mix to the location on N Dayton St. She is a rescue. Our concern was if she wouldn't be okay in a daycare setting. We couldn't be more pleased with the results.

5 Stars: Great employees and a tired, happy dog (by lp1028)

We started using U.O.S. on Dayton in November 2007 and have been nothing but pleased with our experience. Our Rotty Doberman shepherd mix goes two or three times a week and each time he comes home so tired from playing all day. When we drop him off, he goes right in the front door of the facility and doesn't even look back, which says a lot for a dog with major separation anxiety issues! Also, the staff is phenomenal. We were running really late one day to pick him up, and they stayed an extra half hour so that we were able to get him. Moreover, you can tell that each of them really enjoys working there, and everyone knows our dog's name, which is such a nice touch!

5 Stars: Rub my belly Jack. (by jacksontaylor77)

I did alot of research selecting the right daycare for my golden. My guy likes to go on long walks outside but many of the places near me (walking distance) have no outside play area. At UOS they walk the dogs during the day and I know he gets a couple walks. A few other places I checked out do not do walks, and the dogs are inside for the entire day. My other reason for choosing this company is because it is behind my vets office at Blum.

So what do I mean. I have a little frenchy. She is white with black spots, Need I say more. If anyone out there knows frenchies, you know they play alot. Maggie Moo is at daycare almost everyday. Sometimes I have a b. trip I bring her in for a day here or there. I am most fond of the flexibility I have with Urban outsitters. Convenient near the L and I can bring her in anytime of the week. Often times I will send MM all day. They don't offer half days but I can choose to have her there 12:00 hours or less. She needs the excercise and it is a fair price.

5 Stars: New to Chicago. (by montanamudpie)

This past winter I moved to Chicago with my bestest friend Montana. I discovered UOS online and have been using the transportaion service everyday. Everyday they stop by and Montana is happy. He does circles in front of the door. What impresses me most is how accurate they are. One of my concerns was how long he would spend in the van. His travel time is minimal. I know because he is picked up in the morning by 7am before I go to work. A couple times I called to check or to tell Tommy I forgot to send Montana his lunch and he is already there by 8 o'clock. I know he is having a full day at school and not trapped in a vehicle for a long time.

My two dogs G. and G. have been going to Urban Outsitters approaching 4 years now. I travel so much and they must be boarded two to three times a month. They go to daycare everyday of the week. They get baths when I request them to be fresh when I get home from my trips. Have not had one issue with them when we joined. Who can say that about any service? After my divorce I relocated north, and I receive the same service, even use their pet taxi service with no problems. I trust the teams from each facility completely. I will be posting it for each location since my babies use both.

I am an employee of UOS. Let me write that I work full-time and absolutely love this place. The whole concept behind how the company statred is wonderful. I am a HUGE animal lover and bring my pup everyday, so I know what is right and wrong when is comes to the treatment of animals. We keep our routes short, so the dogs are not in our caravan for hours, And the dogs are totally cagefree. REally, we do not cage them. I laugh who much fun the doggies have each day. It feels like a family. Plus my co-workers are a hoot! Having worked in other nearby daycare centres and left to find the best....I found UOS and let me add UOS treats dogs right. Congrats guys.

The employees are very nice and helpful, and we highly recommend Urban Out Sitters to anyone looking for day care or boarding services. Our dog loves it too. Whenever we say "Time to go to day care" in the morning, he sprints to the door to leave the house and gets very excited.

5 Stars: Best Doggie Daycare (by jamieb88)

Urban Outsitters is great! The staff is friendly and caring and they get to know each pet that they take care of. My dog started going to Urban when she was 10 weeks old and has been attending daycare for nearly 4 years. I trust them implicitly with her everyday. I know that Urban watches over her as if she is theirs.

5 Stars: Great Doggy Day-Care (by brrnieha)

I have been a customer for about 3 months now. I am very happy with the service. Everyone is very friendly and always in a great mood when greeting you. My dog loves going there and I can really tell a difference when she comes home; she is always in a great mood and has obviously been excercised all day. I highly recommend this to anyone!

5 Stars: Dog Heaven (by djpchicago)

We moved to Chicago a year or so ago. Our dog is really energetic and loved her dog daycare back in DC, so we were excited about all of the options in Lincoln Park. Unfortunately, the first couple places we tried were poor fits; at first she just wasn't excited to go, and after some time she refused to get into the car in the morning or to get out once we got there. (We also noticed that she wasn't as tired at the end of the day as she used to be and suspect that some of the Chicago services actually crate the dogs in the middle of the day despite advertising themselves as "cageless". If they won't let you stop in any time of day to check on your dog, ask why.)

In any case, we tried the Dayton St location of Urban Outsitters and in no time our dog was back to her usual, happy self. She bursts out of the car wagging like crazy when we arrive in the morning and comes home completely exhausted. Tommy and his staff are great with dogs and owners alike and have been unfailingly helpful when I've gotten stuck late at work or had to extend a business trip by a day or two and needed to extend our pup's boarding time. We also use UO's grooming services, which are a great convenience. I couldn't recommend UO more highly.

5 Stars: Wonderful service... (by ZwartK00)

Jessie has been going to doggy daycare five days a week since May of 2006. She absolutely loves it and the team at Urban Outsitters is amazing. I would highly recommend their services to anyone thinking of daycare. Jessie is a Vizsla and she has a LOT of energy - when she comes home she is beat. It is a wonderful thing. Thank you Tommy and the crew at Urban Outsitters for taking such great care of Jessie!

5 Stars: Doggie Nirvana (by LKell)

Our pomeranian M. has been coming for about a year, since he was a little puppy, and just loves this place! Convenient access from the Belmont el, even more convenient pickup service from home. The staff really enjoys the dogs and creates a very positive place. Extremely safe- our five pound M. has been just fine. He has also stayed over a couple weekends at the Loop location and it is so nice not to have to worry about him when we are traveling!
If you want a happy, well-adjusted dog to greet you every day when you get home, send him to Urban OutSitters while you are at work! Best doggie decision you will ever make!

5 Stars: Best doggy daycare in town!!! (by NBorovicka)

Our dog Babe Ruth has been going to Urban Outsitters day care for over a year and a 1/2 now. We could not be happier with the results. He truly looks forward to going to daycare every Weds and Friday....all we have to say is "Babe are you ready for camp?" and he starts running around in circles he is so excited. He comes back from daycare happy and tuckered out. Also, the staff could not be more warm and friendly. They treat Babe Ruth like their own. We also use UOS's for boarding - we really like their cage free boarding environment. If you are looking for quality petcare and boarding in Chicago my husband and I HIGHLY recommend Urban Outsitters.

5 Stars: Caring, Clean, Convienent! (by mrichtzilla)

We started sending our lab Bode to Urban Outsitters in Lakeview back in 2005 when he was just a young puppy and we have been so pleased with the care that he gets from the team of caregivers at UO. We used to drop Bode off in the morning, and he was always so exicted that he would basically jump over us and pull us through the door just to get inside! Now we use the ultra convienent pick up/drop off "pet taxi" service to get him to and from daycare which is great as well. Tommy and Joseph and their team have always been completely trustworthy and it is obvious to me that they all really care about the animals that they care for during the day. Bode is always all wags when he goes to and comes home from daycare so we really couldn't be more pleased with the service. We looked at some other options back before we chose Urban but a lot of the other facilites were not as nice and clean, and it troubles me that some places don't let you check on your dog during the day if you would like. I highly recommend Urban Outsitters!

5 Stars: Happy Exhausted Dog (by JenniferKayVanderPlaats)

After a day at Urban Outsitters day care, my dog Chance can barely drag himself off the couch to come say hi to me when I get home from work. It wears him out like nothing else can. He clearly LOVES going there. When the staff comes to pick him up, he's ecstatic. When I drop him off myself, he leaps out of the car and charges through the front doors.

I've been sending Chance to day care for almost a year. The staff genuinely cares about him and enjoys taking care of him. They call me when he has runny stool so I can get home from work before he makes a mess of my floor. When Chance was sick for a few days and unable to attend day care, they called to see how he was doing.

I've heard people express concerns about the fact the people are only allowed in the front/lobby portion of the UOS building and not in the back where the dogs play. I understand that this can be unsettling to people - it was to me at first as well. I don't know exactly why this is, although I speculate it has to do with safety concerns (for the people - if 30+ dogs get really excited it could be chaotic). What I do know, is that my dog has never exhibited anything but positive reactions when it comes to Urban Outsitters. He's never anxious or upset in the least. Ultimately, if my dog's happy with the service he's receiving, than I am too.

5 Stars: Recommend anyone to use services. (by norajohnking)

I am very happy in the service my dog received while at Urban Out Sitters.
I was told that someone was in supervising the dogs at all times.
95% of the time that I or my daughter accessed the webcam there
was someone in the room with the dogs.

The female that worked there during the day came in and cleaned up the area. She would sit or play with the dogs.
The male that was in there, was in more often, but one
time he pulled in a chair in range of the camera and it appeared he was
watching because he would pet the dogs when they came up to him.

I believe your services were fantastic, and loved that I could watch my dog while away on vacation. I will use them again and
I or John will recommend anyone to use your services.

5 Stars: Alarm resolution and Overseas (by hannahknockers)

We have never had any problems with the alarm but we haven?t really used it that much either. Our sitter had an issue on the first visit but gave us a call straight away to resolve the problem. Also while we were away in Iceland our sitter had the option to call us using the country code, and then the number , but used Skype which is much cheaper. We were glad to hear our babies are doing well and that you?re all getting along. The smaller one is Hanna, the mother, and the bigger is her son Knockers. Thank you for the e-mails and all your good work.

5 Stars: PLEASE SEND YOUR DOG HERE! (by doglover0123456789)

I am writing this review of Urban Out Sitters (UOS) because I strongly believe that it is in your dog(s)? best interest to utilize their services. I have never written an online review of anything before but I am doing so now in the hopes that I can help others try the positive experiences I had with UOS. I utilized UOS for 1 month for dog walking and also boarded her there once for 4 days. Of all of the companies I considered, the UOS website was the most comprehensive, information and impressive. Based on their website, UOS appeared to be a reputable and well run business. Please do believe everything you read on their website as many of the things they state are simply TRUE. I found these statements to be completely consistent with my experience as follows: (1) 30 minute dog visit ? My dog walker told me that she her dog walks are 20-25 minutes, which the rest of the time is spent leaving fresh water and a note. (2) Cage free boarding in which I left my dog at UOS for 4 days. I was excited about the cage free boarding concept and had the expectation that my dog would be safe and happy under their care. I DO BOARD MY DOG HERE. But I must add that when my dog does get stressed when I board her at any length of anytime. When I picked up my dog, she had liquid stools (seriously, LIQUID), and still had an ear infection. To my gratification they told me about her liquid stools and ongoing infection. I encourage you to obtain services from UOS. They engage with the customer as to GO OUT OF THEIR WAY and are concerned about the care your dog!

5 Stars: Leaving your pets here..TERRIFIC! (by niic76)

I?ve been speaking to the staff over the past 2 weeks and received many calls back. They will allow you to view daily daycare and the back with use of monitors and web cams. Although they will not allow you in to the playgroup because it would cause craziness amongst the group. A friend of mine worked there a year ago and was simply moving away and sadly had to leave. The owner cares a lot about the dogs and their care and it always on the staff to contribute communication and give lots of attention to the dogs and cats. She was overjoyed when I told her I was bringing my bichon there. They have a great reputation. Bring your business. Your dog will be happy there!

5 Stars: Urbanousitters Staff: (by msiw222)

I wanted to write and let you know that we were able to get through on the web cam. It was
Saturday afternoon and we were getting ready to pick Nigel up when my husband managed to get through the web cam on his work computer. Nigel was playing, playing, playing (as Michael would say) and being a dominant male dog. Nigel and a yellow lab were playing almost constantly except for the time when Nigel was "purposefully" (it looked on purpose to
me) peeing and pooping. We saw him 'talking back' to the staff when they asked him if he had just marked the wall where the staff member had just cleaned up someone else's mark. Then the
staff member must have said something like - "what are you going to do now? Poopy?" and sure
enough - he did! Nigel is trained to potty on command and I think he was just showing off for your staff. After all this smart-ass rottenness, your staff did a "sit-stay" training exercise with him! We were even told when we picked him up that he is a "cool dog" since he is helping the staff by bringing them the broom. It was so funny to find out that Nigel had added and new and helpful word to his vocabulary - "broom" - while on a play date!!
I knew we had chosen the right place for Nigel to play and stay overnight because of the way he acts when we drive to Urbanoutsitters, but seeing him playing on the web cam swept away that last 2%-5% of hesitation I had about going "away - away" on vacation in January. The only time Nigel and I are separated for more than a couple of hours is when he visits Urbanousitters and now I can feel completely at ease. Thank you.

5 Stars: I'm recommending Urban Outsitters to everyone... (by maxie12142007)

I just wanted to send a quick thank you note to Urban Outsitters. We recently relocated from Vermont, where our dog, Maxie, went to a day care that she absolutely loved. We took her to a different Chicago daycare after we moved here, but it quickly became obvious that she wasn't having the same experience: she wasn't excited to go, wasn't tired from playing at the end of the day, and eventually cried and refused to get out of the car when we arrived in the morning. Needing a change, we tried the Lakeview location of Urban Outfitters and noticed Maxie's immediate return to her normal bouncy, waggly self. Tommy and his group there seem to do an amazing job, and I'm so much happier during the day knowing that Maxie is in great hands. I'm recommending Urban Outsitters to everyone I know who has a dog, and we plan to be customers for years to come.
