.

I had a severe clot on April 23th, 2008 and ER doctor called in Dr. Bashar Karakash in North Community Hospital due to his specialty. The UltraSound has show my vein clot is very long: from low leg all the way to close to my heart and it is only a few inches anyway from my lung. By the time, the clot reach a person's lung, it will be no cure and the person will be dead. What Dr. Bashar Karakash need to do is to have a CT scan right away and get more clear and details on my vein clot and order a sergury after that. But, he did nothing. I have to wait in hosptial bed unitl next day 4:00 PM and a women Doctor ( Indian origin ) came to see me and she ordered a CT scan right away. When the CT scan result came out, the head nurse and the assistant nurse realized my clot is so severe and it can reach my lung any time. They are very nerous about me and kept telling me that, if I feel breathless, I need to let them know right way. In the meantime, they paged Dr. Bashar Karakash THREE TIMES and he refused to come to the hospital to see me. The head nurse paged him again and called him. Eventually, another Doctor ( Indian origin also ) came. When this Doctor found out my condition, he immediate ordered a emergency surgery to clean up the clot and I was in the operation room within 20 minutes.

I received the first surgery at 11:00 PM on 04/24/2008 ( Thursday night). After that, the surgical doctor gave me a clot buster medicine for 20 hours through IV and wheel me back for the second surgery to clean up all clot. I was narrow escape from death. My friend, a intern in St. Vincent Hospital said Dr. Bashar Karakash should sent me to CT scan right way and ordered the surgery on the night on 04/23/2008. I was purely luck because the clot will normal move to my lung by Thursday.

Dr. Bashar Karakash is the most irresponsible doctor I have ever seen. He should be suspended his licsense and be sued for his negligence of duty.
