I am not one to write reviews but I do feel this one needs an update from a long-time customer. My wife and I have been coming here since they opened back in 2006. Lucy used to do her very best to impress and take care of her customers. Not any more. she is rarely there and when the cat's away....
We have dined here as often as 3-4x month, but find ourselves coming here less often and less often as the service and quality seem to go downhill. While we have never had to wait for a table, once seated, the server forgets about us. Until it is time to pay, then she hovers. We have asked for simple things like garlic to be added to our food, which they will now charge us $2.00 per person for. Seriously? How many restaurants will actually charge you for more flavor? My experience has been they are usually embarrassed and give that to you for free! The servers are generally more concerned about getting their tip than they are about earning it.
On a positive note, the food is pretty good and we have never had a problem in 4 years with anything being prepared to less than our satisfaction. The restaurant is generally clean, but the chefs are not always good about cleaning up the tossed chicken pieces and vegetables that end up on the floor when they attempt to launch them into your mouth. My kids have had the sushi, but this is not a place I would recommend for sushi and would definitely stick to the hibachi tables.
Overall, it seems Lucy had a good thing going here until she decided to expand and open a new restaurant in Romeoville. We have never been, but it seems that the attention goes to that location instead of Darien since the last 8/10 times we have been to Darien, Lucy has been at the other location and we received poor service and rushed out once the food was served.

Pros: Food at Hibachi table is fresh

Cons: Service is horrible, owner refocused on new location

Overpriced and small portions and the owner/manager is so snooty!

First off, the Godzilla is more like a mini-zilla. Don't call your sushi roll a Godzilla when it's about as thick as a quarter. You need to rename it a mini-zilla. The Twister is mediocre also. I spent close to $30 and I was highly disappointed. I thought it was just a fluke. I ordered their Bronze sushi platter and the quality is like grocery store sushi. Nasty! If you don't mind the drive, go to Yamado on Ogden in Naperville. It's much better than Aodake in price, quality, and portion sizes.
