In ShortFounded in 1901 in Chicago by Charles R. Walgreen Sr., this neighborhood pharmacy has grown to be one of the nation's largest drugstore chains. I just love the monthly mail in rebate program offered by Walgreens. Each month free after rebate items are available. Often you can combine manufacturers coupons on top of this, hence making money on the item. Also, you can mail all the rebates together on one form and you do not need UPCs, just the receipts. On top of that, if you get your refund in the form of a gift card, you get an extra 10%. I have found some great new products through this program. It is a fun and exciting way to save money, make money, and try new products. They have low prices on their regular products as well. This is one of my favorite places to shop.

Using coupons from the Walgreens coupon saver book, purchasing exactly what each coupon was for, went to check out and was told that only certain items were allowed with the coupon purchase................hence eliminating half of my purchases because they weren't clearly marked on the shelves.

This Walgreens is open 24 hours, which makes it really convenient when my child is feeling sick at night that I can just go out to get something to help him get through the night and go to the doctor the next day. It's just in my neighborhood. The pharmacist is really helpful and always wants to make sure that I know how to take this medicine and inform me of the possible side effects.

EMPLOYEE INSULTED ME!

I walk in the door and pick up an ad to see what they have on sale. I am holding paper kind of close to see because I am almost legally blind with contacts. My eyes are bad and I cant even drive myself places, someone else has to do it. Anyway the clerk seeing me says "looks like someone over there needs my glasses!" I felt like knocking his teeth down his throat, but instead got a mgr. I walked out as my husband and son were paying, the same clerk said a comment about the lady in front of my husband, "the comment that lady just said, is so typical of a woman!" So do you guys want to take your chances on going in there for a precription or something else and being insulted????? I think not, not ever again.

Cons: Might get insulted if you go in
