I've been going to Mexican Village Restaurant for almost 30 years. It was the only Mexican Restaurant around back then. Even with a lot of competition in the area, it's still one of the most authentic Mexican Restaurants. The food is fantastic. The same dishes that were great 30 years ago are still great today. I'm impressed it's kept its wonderful atmosphere for all these years. It's also nice to see how much it mirrors the original restaurant on Bagley in Detroit!

My wife and our friend went to Mexican Village last night. The food is above average, although they do get a little heavy-handed with cheese. The room is somewhat noisy but not too bad. The waitstaff ranges from so-so to pretty good. Overall, Mexican Village is a pretty good Mexican restaurant, although I prefer Azteca.

This is my favorite restaurant of all time! My family and I have been going there for years, and a few months ago I've turned my boyfriend on to it. The pricing is very fair and the portions are generous. Just recently started going there for lunch, and you wouldn't believe the food you get for under $6. The chips and salsa they serve before the meal is always fresh and usually the chips are still hot. The food is amazing and I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Pros: The best, freshest food out there.

Cons: The wait can be quite long around dinner time.

Anytime we go out I suggest Mexican Village. I love the salsa and margaritas, not to mention the awesome food! The staff is friendly and helpful in suggesting menu items. Although now that I'm a regular I nearly always get the same thing....chicken flautas covered in cheese, sooo yummy! The menu has been updated recently so there are some new things to try. Prices went up a tad, but they are still very low prices. There is no where else we can go for two and spend under $40, (thats with a drink from the bar each) and be totally stuffed!

Pros: The great food

Cons: usually a long wait, especially on weekends

I have been eating at Mexican Village since I was a little girl. I always wanted to sit by the bull in the smoking section. The environment is very authentic and inviting. I always order the Amazonian Combination plate.... it is very filling and could easily be split between two people. Their chimichanga's are amazing. The staff is friendly. I would recommend this restaurant when you are in the mood for some good Mexican food.

The best authentic restaurant in the area. Margaritas are great. The price range is reasonable and worth the wait on busy nights. I highly recommend this to anyone who likes Mexican food.

Fantastic. Long wait if you go on the weekends but it's well worth it. The paintings and set up adds to the appeal, it looks exactly the same as the one that is in Detroit and if you didn't know it you could think you were there. Good value, great drinks. If you go on your birthday and tell them, they sing and you get a free fried ice-cream.
