Twice I took my family to Parma's Mootown Creamery to get $1.00 scoops and twice I left unhappy. The first time, there were signs all over the store advertising $1.00 scoops. My three sons, husband, and I order our cones and the bill came to approximately $15.00. When I asked why it was so much when they were advertising $1.00 scoops, the girl replied that I did not specify $1.00 scoops so she did not give me the $1.00 scoops. With the number of signs plastered all over the store, I foolishly assumed all scoops were $1.00. I was nuts enough to go back to this same store with my family a year later, prepared to specify $1.00 scoops. I had a $25.00 gift card in hand as we walked up to the counter. I specified that we were all getting $1.00 scoops, right off the bat. The two girls behind the counter smirked and one said, "Just to let you know, our gift card machine is out of order." Great! Once again a hassel. We told her, "Fine, we'll go to Doc's." Never again will I try to treat my family to $1.00 scoops at this store. Twice, I was fooled into thinking it would be a good idea to stop for an inexpensive treat, and twice I found it to be a waste of time and/or money. It seems to me that $1.00 scoops are advertised in the hopes of tricking you into paying more than you expect, and when you are prepared to "specify" they find another way to cheat you.
