My fiance designed my engagement ring at Ethan Lord last fall. He raved about the experience he had working with Larry. Larry will shoot you straight and really help you find the best ring for your budget. The great thing about Ethan Lord is that you can completely design your ring exactly they way you want it - and it's really easy! The ring turned out even better than we had envisioned it. We also went back to Ethan Lord for our wedding bands, and again Larry exceeded our expectations. He was able to custom make my band to match my engagement ring exactly. I couldn't be happier with our experience with Larry at Ethan Lord. Overall we had great customer service, great value, and great quality!

I was looking to do something special for my engagement on the ring side. I was referred to Ethan Lord through one of my co-workers. Her husband had designed her ring there and had raved about the experience.

I came in shortly after that and met with the owner of the company who walked me through their business and production facilities to give me an idea of how a ring was made all the way from the original drawings. This was a really fun and interesting perk as I really had no idea how it was done.

I was soon in touch with Larry who operates the Ethan Lord office.

The ring I had in mind wasn't really something too common in the engagement ring space. All I had was a lousy drawing on a piece of printer paper as I'm no artist. Larry turned this over to his ring designers who drew it up in CAD for me to see before moving on further. The computer rendered images were exactly what I was looking for. After confirming the drawings were what I wanted they moved on with creating the ring for me with the stones I had chosen with Larry's help. I next got to see a wax replica of the ring in order to confirm 100% that was what I wanted before they actually produced it with the metal. This gave a great idea of what the ring was actually going to look like size wise. After this, they actually made the ring for me.

Another huge plus here was that me, though I had done a little research, I was no diamond expert. Larry took the time to walk me through all of the necessary information I needed to know to make an informed decision about the stone I chose for the ring. He even gave me a short lesson on how to loupe a stone (look for the problems in it with the Jeweler's magnifying glass).

Not only did the ring come out exactly as I envisioned it, but it appraised for 50% more than I paid for it which, though I have no intention of selling it, proved I got far more than what I paid for.

I recently went back and my fianc?e and I ordered both of our wedding bands here and again the process went along just as smoothly.

I can't say enough good things about Ethan Lord. If you need any piece of jewelry, go here and you will NOT be disappointed.

I really don't even know where to begin. I found a design that I loved online, and was looking for a place to replicate this design in the metal of my choice. I called a TON of custom jewelry places and they were all either too much money, or not unable to reach my deadline. Then I luckily came across Ethan Lord. Their team worked with me to create not only my wedding band, but my wife's as well. I cannot say enough about their professional work ethic and their attention to detail. I have already started recommending them to other friends of mine. I was especially nervous to have somebody create my wedding bands that I couldn't sit down an talk with face to face (I live in the New York City Area), but Larry made the entire process so easy with e-mails and phone calls, that I honestly think it worked out even better than having to go somewhere all the time. Honestly, the entire process was fantastic and I found myself saying, "If only everybody else we're working with for the wedding was more like Larry, planning our wedding would be much easier!!!"

I went to Ethan Lord for the first time just over a year ago when I was looking to buy and engagement ring. I was very nervous and also clueless. I had a rough design of what my wife wanted but really had no idea what to look for or how to make it perfect. Luckily, I couldn't have found a more friendly, professional, and genuine place to go to make a purchase of that magnitude. Bernie and his staff at Ethan Lord are top notch. They take great pride in everything they make and truly want it to be a special thing. The ring that they designed and made on site is something that even a clueless guy like myself was really blown away by. I also went there to get the wedding bands done and of course received the same care and attention to detail. I have recommended and will continue to refer all of my friends and family to Ethan Lord.

Bernie was the best! He is a great designer that really listens to what you want and then gives great suggestions on how to make it even better. Also, the Ethan Lord design process was so high tech and amazing - it allows you to see your creation before actually casting it in metal. Also, the turn around time is very fast - I was able to get my ring in under 2 weeks. And lastly, their new location is very elegant - not like those other shady locations on jewelers row. If you want an original, one of a kind engagement ring - Ethan Lord is the way to go!

Working with Bernie helped make this one of the most memorable experiences ever. After a brief conversation, Bernie was able to find the perfect diamond, setting, and at the price I was looking for. Every detail was met to perfection and Bernie is always there for you every step of the way. Casting House and Ethan Lord is a perfect combination and my fiancee is throughly impressed and all her friends love the ring. I will continue to shop there and recommend them highly as one of the best jewelers in the chicago land area.

Both my engagement ring and wedding band are from Ethan Lord. My husband found them through a friend and we have both been very pleased with the jewelry and the service. I absolutely love my engagement ring and Bernie was fabulous to work with when deciding on a matching wedding band. He works very hard to create the perfect piece for your needs and budget and is never pushy. It addition, both my husband and I have had our rings re-sized free of charge and the turn over time is incredibly fast. I can also drop my rings off at any time and have them professionally cleaned free of charge. I will definitely return to Ethan Lord for all my future jewelry purchases and would recommend to friends and family in a heart beat.

I had an exceptional experience at Ethan Lord. I purchased my wife's engagement ring and our wedding rings there. It was the fifth jeweler in Chicago I had been to, and the experience was much different than the others. When I told Bernie what I wanted, that was exactly what he showed me, rather than trying to up-sell me or convince me that I would be happier with a larger, albeit lower quality, stone. The final designs matched exactly what I wanted. Best of all, the price quoted was fair and there was no need to haggle. My wife can stop by and get her rings (which she loves) anytime. I have referred several friends to Ethan Lord since, and all have had very positive experiences.

I recently was referred to Ethan Lord Jewelers. I was a novice heading into the experience of buying an engagement ring. Larry and his team took me through the step by step process it takes to create a unique and custom ring. They took the entire process into their own hands and allowed me to sit back and relax! They created the perfect, custom to my ideas, design and ring for my fiancee. This allowed me to make my engagement plans and not stress about a thing. My fiancee does not stop talking about it and her girlfriends can't get enough of it. I have a handful of friends/family that are also in the early stages of engagement talks with their significant others. I haven't stopped raving about this place since I found them! So, I began searching for my diamond and met with with probably 10 different jewelers, and was completely skeptical about my whole experience (the used-car-salesman type, the arrogant/condescending type, the cheesy/trashy type, the dated/dingy type), when I walked by Ethan Lord. I entered without an appointment, and it was like a breath of fresh air! Larry worked with both me & my fiance to find my extremely unique stone, and design my own version of a classic but contemporary setting. He was even able to get it done in record time for my visit to the future in-laws! We are absolutely getting our bands from here, and have already designed a perfect match to my ring. Their ability to custom design whatever you want, and have it made on site with their parent Casting Company is unparalleled. We couldn't have been happier with our whole experience, and agree with everyone else who says they've found their jeweler for life!

I was hesitant when I saw that all reviews were 5 stars. However, I met with Larry and he helped me create the perfect engagement ring. It is 100% custom and unique. My now fiancee loves it! A very close friend of mine recommended Ethan Lord to me when I mentioned that I was going to start looking at engagement rings. I took the tour of their facility on Jewelers Row and also was provided an hour long education session to narrow down exactly what I was looking for. There was not the least amount of pressure from the staff and their entire boutique is top notch. About a week later I picked everything out for the final product and it was done in a couple of days because the custom shop is right next door. I did not even go to another place based on their service and aggresive prices. I am extremely pleased with the final product and more importantly so is my fiance, she gets compliments all the time. Bernie, Larry, and Andrea are fantastic to work with and I would recommend them to anyone.

Ethan Lord is a very unique find, especially for Chicago. Hidden on the 6th floor of the Jewelers Center, it is more of a New York style boutique than a used car shop like many other stores in the area. The service at Ethan Lord is impeccable! When you arrive, a beverage is made just for you such as hot coffee or tea! To make your visit even more special, they give you a tour of how jewelry is made. This is really interesting and a must see. While my husband purchased a designer necklace from them, I believe it was from James Breski's Collection, I would definitely go back for other jewelry purchases.

I stumbled upon Ethan Lord when I began my search for an engagement ring for my now wife. After my first meeting with Bernie, I knew that he would be the person to help my find, or create, exactly what I wanted. He was upfront and honest with the pricing of the setting, metal, and stones. My wife loved the engagement ring so much, we both purchased our wedding bands from Bernie and were extremely pleased. I've recommended Ethan Lord to multiple friends and they have all expressed similar positive experiences.

My mother gave me her engagement ring several years ago to pass down as a family heirloom. However, I could not wear it since the setting didn't fit and quite frankly, it was extremely outdated. After doing some research online, I came across Ethan Lord Jewelers and was intrigued by their custom design capabilities. I scheduled an appointment and had an amazing experience. Not only was their storefront modern and contemporary, it was very comfortable as I received a private consultation in the back office without being surrounded by others. Not once did I feel rushed or pressured during my meeting, which is a breath of fresh air since I didn't quite know what I wanted. After working with Ethan Lord, we created a beautiful modern setting for my cherished family heirloom. My mother even fell in love with the new setting and is definitely going there to redesign one of her rings.

Since my husband was so happy with their work, he secretly went there for a Christmas gift for me. On Christmas morning, I was surprised with a stunning black tahitian pearl necklace made by one of their exclusive designers. I am definitely a customer for life and will recommend Ethan Lord to all of my friends and family. Thank you for everything!

When shopping for wedding bands, my fiance and I were working within a limited budget. We had assumed that we would have to settle for plain bands. However, after visiting Ethan Lord jewelers and working with Larry, we were not only able to find the exact bands that we wanted--but we were able to have them designed just for us--to our liking. I was even able to get diamonds in my band! We are extremely happy with the quality and the price--and the new location is gorgeous and very chic! Definitely recommended.

Before this Christmas, I had never bought a piece of jewelry before. Although I was a first timer, I knew what I wanted the necklace for my girlfriend to look like. After shopping through department stores and some well known jewelry stores without luck, I was recommended to Ethan Lord and could not be happier. After a consultation with Larry, I quickly learned that I had so many options to chose from in terms of settings, metals, and quality of stones, that I did not know where to begin. Fortunately for me, Larry did. I showed him what I was looking for in the necklace and pendant and he made recommendations and showed me what each alteration would do to the piece throughout the process. We were able to work through the details quickly in their suite (which has a look and experience unlike any other jewelry store that you have to see for yourself). We worked together to customize the piece within my budget without sacrificing the look I wanted. While shopping I had seen diamond necklaces with similar attributes priced way above what I paid. Last and most important, I have a great gift and get to tell my girlfriend that her necklace is one of a kind. I can't thank Ethan Lord enough.

I LOVE THIS PLACE!! My wedding rings and band are great--Yes I did say rings. They gave us the best price and service I was able to get two rings. Now they have a ruby ring I have my eye on...hope Santa is good to me.
