Southwest Baptist University is a private, four-year comprehensive evangelical Christian university offering more than 80 areas of academic study. The 152-acre main campus is in Bolivar, Mo., a town of approximately 10,300 just 25 miles north of Springfield, Mo., which is the third-largest city in the state. SBU also has additional branch campuses, in Mountain View, Salem and Springfield. The Springfield campus houses the Mercy College of Nursing and Health Sciences of SBU, offering degrees in nursing, radiography, and health sciences. SBU has been accredited by the Higher Learning Commission since 1957, providing affirmation of the high-quality academic programs at SBU. The university also has been selected as one of America's Best Christian Colleges annually since 1996 and has been recognized as one of America's Best College Buys since 1997.
