The service provided is fair but you will pay a fortune! I don't know how they can advertise they are any cheaper than an ER. For no services rendered besides a doctor listening to my child's lungs, I was billed $340!!! Anyone would be better off finding a regular family physician and not even bothering with these places. When you call to see how much it costs, they will tell you $110 - that's only if you DO NOT have health insurance! If you already pay a fortune to have the insurance, they will charge you 3 times as much as someone who does not.

I had been fighting a severe cough, vomiting and fever/chills thing for a week when I decided to go to Urgent Care, where I waited for an hour and a half to see a doctor who saw me for about 45 seconds (not exaggerating, sadly). He had just enough time to walk in, glance at my file, think aloud about if it was possible that I had swine flu, not glance at or speak to me, and to leave abruptly. Then I waited and waited and waited and waited. And, well, he didn't come back after another hour, so I checked with reception. Then I went back to the patient room where I waited some more. Then I left. I left minus any advice, thoughts or medication, other than a new notion that maybe this was the dreaded swine flu.

This facility is likely horribly understaffed and overtaxed for the winter sickness season.

My son sprained his ankle on Chritsmas eve. We took him to Hometown Urgent Care. The staff was very caring and professional. They had X-ray on site. Luckily my son did not have fracture. The Doctor ace wrapped the ankle. They even had pharmacy on site and I did not have to spend half an hour in getting my prescription filled. We were done in less than an hour. If I had to go to an ER, it would have spoiled my Christmas. I would definitely recommend Hometown.

My son was taken in while visiting his grandmother. Turns out he had strep throat (my grandmother, a nurse, had already diagnosed him). His grandmother told the nurse what she suspected was wrong with him. The doctor came in: never introduced himself, had a gruff, too-busy demeanor when dealing with my son, and said, "So you think he has strep? Ok, we'll do a swab and find out." - and then left. He was in the room less than 1 minute. The bill for that incredible visit, was $400!! Breakdown: $220 for the office visit, $40 for a rapid strep test, $140 for serviced provided in an urgent care. To top it all off, after I faxed them our insurance information and billing address, they sent the bill to my mother (the grandmother). When I called them to straighten the bill out, they were rude, belligerent, and defended their billing mistake. It is companies such as Hometown Urgent Care that make us shake our head and wonder what is wrong with health care in America
