Nothing in Chicagoland compares with the authenticity of the tastes that Chef Pietro delivers night after night. His pasta (ravioli in particular) is heavenly, if I had to choose a one word description. Every dish has been impeccable and so true to what Italian food should be all about. It is like you are eating at his dining room on the Island of Capri.

Pros: food, food and it's all about the food

We recently celebrated family birthdays at Luna Caprese on the recommendation of a foodie friend of mine. Having lived in Italy, I'm very picky about Italian restaurants. Our group of 7 had the charming nook at the back of the restaurant, which was very nice as our party tended to be a bit loud. This is by far the best Italian food I've had in years. Everyone ordered different appetizers & main courses and all were FANTASTIC. Hot food arrived HOT - not something achieved by most other restaurants. All the food tasted like real food, not substandard mush w/a sauce ladled over it. The handmade pasta dishes were divine. The wine our waiter recommended was an excellent choice. We'd brought a cake for dessert and the restaurant served it beautifully. If you like good food and an intimate - but unpretentious - environment, Luna Caprese is well worth a visit.
Pros: Unique pasta dishes, fresh ingredients, excellent service in a neighborhood place.
Cons: A cab is probably the best way to get there (if you don't have a car).

Great food. Great service. Great wine. Great space. Great time. Go, and enjoy!

We've been to Luna Caprese at least 10 times now. Always a great experience. We've gone as a twosome, a foursome, and we had a pre-marathon party there with at least 16 people at one long table. We always take out of town guests here. The owner/chef and his fiance are very friendly and accomodating!

This is the best italian in the city. Having lived in Italy for two years, I consider myself to have a good knowledge of what true Italian food should taste like. This is it!!! The cook is from Italy and does a phenomenal job on all the dishes. I went with a group of 10, we all ordered something different, and every single dish was out of this world. You must try it for yourself

I had heard some rave reviews from a co-worker. A small group of us went in hopes of some fresh and tasty Italian dishes........and we found it! Better than the Francesca chain around town. Very flavorful sauces made our experience a delightful one. The only draw back was our waiter who was very inexperienced but was making an effort. Despite the inexperienced server, it was definitely worth the visit. Can't wait to go back and try another of their tasty dishes.
