I live in the neighborhood but never visited Frederico's, or any of the previous occupants of the quirky little building. One Friday nite, we dropped in on a whim, and were seated immediately. The server was very friendly, yet professional and knew the menu well. The menu items were pretty standard Italian but what we got was anything but typical. The salad was simple but very fresh and the house made dressing was fantastic! Lots of fresh herbs in a wonderful mix of oil and vinegar. I normally don't care for house salads at Italian restaurants because the're usually loaded down with cheese. These were very light and refreshing. I ordered chicken spedini which was the best I've ever had. Crispy, lemoney, garlicy good, served on top of very smooth and creamy mashed potatos. My husband got the canneloni which was homemade and also very good, but bland in comparison to my flavor-punched dish. I don't recall there being a very extensive wine list, but we were just there for a quick meal, and a glass of the house chianti was fine. Our cheesecake was ok, but the table next to us had table-side bananas foster that was very fun to watch. The owner stopped by our table, which is always a nice touch. It was a great value too. We can't wait to go back!

Don't drive to this place. I'm sure it's nice but it's located in the STL suburb of St. George (ZIP 63123), a notorious speedtrap and if you google "st. george, mo police" you'll find out how nasty their cops are.
