.

I took my bike there because it was broken.

They told me to pick it up a few days later. I went in a few days later, and was told that they ordered the wrong part, so it'd be another week. Waited and waited, no call at all. So I called THEM and was told that they would try to hurry the order. Another week went by.

Called again. Was told the part would be in in a few days. Finally the part got there, and they put it on. Then they called me (for the first time) and told me my frame was bent, and that I needed a NEW FRAME! We're talking a $700 frame!

Anyway, I was devastated, and decided that I'd just go pick up the bike. While I was there, I was repeatedly told that the frame was no good, and there was nothing they could do... but they did offer to order me a new frame (which sounded fishy). Also, while I was there, one of the grunts behind the service counter yelled out, "Should have bought a Surly." Kind of rude in the circumstance if you ask me (and also sounded fishy).

So I took the bike home with my tail between my legs. And after careful observation, it didn't look tweaked to me. So I rode it for a while, and then realized that the frame didn't feel tweaked to me either.

Long story short, I took the bike to a different (obviously much better) shop, and they told me I only needed an $80 part... not a whole new $700 frame. The bike works great now with the new $80 part.

I won't go back to Cycle Works, and I don't suggest you do either. They either A) tried to screw me, thinking that I was a complete bike idiot, or B) don't know what they're doing.

I purchased my ride from here. Very good service and they often take my bike in immediately for minor adjustments when I just ride in. I would strongly recommend this shop to friends that are looking for a ride. Very knowledgable staff there ALL the time.
