I have been going to Unique Beautique for many years. And I just love the changes that have taken place the last couple of months. I'm so very excited to learn that the stylists are attending new coloring and cutting techniques classes. That I can't wait to try a new style. Plus, Capital City Cosmetics are joining Unique Beautique!! Keep up the "Good Work" ladies!

The best thing about Unique Boutique was Jenny Hankinson! She is now at Willow Tree Spa.....worth the extra 10 minutes to my 40 minute drive to see her!

I have been going to Unique Beautique for about a year. Celest is excellent at coloring my hair and cutting. I have never had a problem and would recommend her to anyone. I have also used the services of Anne for my permanent make-up. I have been having permanent make-up done for about 25 years and she is the best I have used - the under eye eye-liner is amazing. Great job ladies!!

I would love to tell you about Unique Beautique, back in September I was part of a group of ladies that had the pleasure of visiting Unique Beautique as a Spousal Program. From the moment I stepped into the building I could feel the problems of the day melt away. The staff welcome me and my fellow spouses into the salon. I felt like I was with trusted friends. The staff provide a lovely luncheon of sandwiches, fruit, chips and a wide assortment of desserts. We had a large group so each member received several services. I have been to many spousal programs with my husband and I can honestly say that it was the best spa day I have attended in my years of conferences. I and my fellow attendees were never made to feel rushed or not important. Each member of Unique Beautique staff made us feel like we were their best customer and a welcomed friend.

There was never a dull moment during our 6 hour stay. If you were not having a service done, you could take a lovely tour of the building, were you would learn the history of the building. Or enjoy sitting on the porch enjoying your lovely lunch that was provide. If you left hungry it was your own fault.

I hope when the next conference is in Columbus, that the Spousal Program will include another visit to Unique Beautique. It is a one in a million treat if the world is getting you down.

I would not trust my hair and nails to anyone but the staff at Unique Beautique. If you want a so so services there are plenty of substandard establishment in Pataskala and the local area. But if you want to have your haircut, colored, nails done or a very relaxing massage this is the place to have it done. Unique Beautique rocks above the others!

I took part of a group at this salon while my husband was attending a convention. When the group entered the salon, we were greeted by the whole staff and offered a catered lunch, drinks and various finger foods. The shop manager also offered us a tour of the facility and provided some history.

Beings we were a large group, we were offered mini services, but they were equally all fulfilling as what the full one would have been. I do not believe anyone in my party left unsatisfied.

If I lived closer to this business, I would frequent it. However, my husband would frown upon a 3 hour drive just for pampering! Oh well, I will just have the fond memories!

I have been going to Unique Boutique for several years now. All of the staff has been extremely helpful and thorough in everything they offer. Pedicures with Anne are DELIGHTFUL. Jenny has a real eye for what hairstyles work, and she is more than willing to work at something until the customer is satisfied! I highly recommend Earl for a massage. The rest of the crew is very attentive and personable.

When anyone is looking for a place to get their hair done or are in need of a mani/pedi, Unique Boutique is the place I always recommend!

OMG!!! This salon is fantastic! My friends and I had the best time ever. We had our hair, nail, facials, and massages done. OF COURSE it was for my WEDDING PARTY but if you have not checked this place out you really need to. They offer everything you can think of. This place is great. They supplied us with a buffet of food and drinks. I am telling you check this place out.
You will have a good time. I loved every minute of it.

I had a great time at the Unique Beautique Day Salon/Spa. It was the first time in several years I decided to go and treat myself to a perm. I had tried many times in the past at multiple salons to have this done and the perm Never lasted. So then I tried the Unique Beautique Day Salon and Spa. My hairstylist Jenny Hankinson did a perm for me and it has lasted well past 6 months. She was wonderful. I plan on definatedly going back to her in the future. Everyone there is very friendly.

My experience at the Unique Beautique was the BEST EVER! I had a manicure and pedicure. The girls there are very friendly. I always have a great time. Every year I go and buy gift cards for my girls, sister, and mother. We make a girls day out of it. We all enjoy the quality time we get to spend together.

I had the best time at the Unique Beautique. I went and had my eyebrows done and hair highlighted. Also in the past I have had a massage by Earl it was fantastic. I love going there to relax and have fun it is like being with a bunch of great friends. I would recommend this salon and spa to everyone.

I had a wonderful time at Unique Beautique Day Salon. I have had my hair highlighted, toes and nails done, ears pierced, and eye brows done. Everytime I go to Unique Beautique I am greeted nicely and feel very welcomed. I enjoy going there to relax and be pampered. The staff is wonderful and I feel that this place is a great place to go for nails and for hair. I would recommend this place to anyone!

This salon sucks! I went here for the first time about 8 years ago, got a mediocre massage by some woman there and decided to stay away for a while. I came back a couple of times for massages with Earl, who is wonderful! He is the ONLY one my husband and I will go to. I bought a Smart Circle card when the rep came into my work one day. I made an appointment to get my hair cut. When I arrived, I waited about 20 minutes and was given to a girl about 15 years old to get my hair cut. I told her how my normal salon does my hair...and was met with an uh-huh. No acknowledgement, no questions, nothing intelligent from this beautician. Needless to say, I DID NOT get the cut I wanted. I feel like I could have gone to Great Clips and gotten the same thing. AND THEN...that Smart Circle is a racket...a mandatory 20% tip and when I complained, I was told to go home and try it out, if I didn't like it I could come back and get it fixed. How do you fix hair when it's already cut too short. I got home and ended up having my husband cut a chunk of hair off that the girl at Unique Boutique had missed...are you kidding me! Worst salon in the world. Rumor has it they are struggling financially and renting out parts of that place to anyone with a pulse, I would wonder if there compensation for the beauticians is low for the industry, maybe that's why there are so many complaints=they can't get good employees. Save your money, go to the Aveda Salon Institute (the school) in downtown Columbus. You'll save more, meet people with a personality, there's always an instructor present, and they have MOTIVATION!

WATCH OUT FOR SMART CIRCLE AND THIS VENDOR

On April 24, 2010 I scheduled an appointment at the above Smart Circle vendor for a manicure, which was part of the Smart Circle package, and also a pedicure for which I was paying and additional $40.00.

I arrived at the salon five minutes late, and in quite a rush knowing how busy salons can be on a Saturday. I entered the salon, and waited, and waited, and waited ?? no greeting. The pedicure room is completely visible/open to all who enter the salon, so I peeked into the room to see if someone was perhaps waiting for me there. There were three people in the pedicure room: a customer receiving a pedicure by one of the technicians, and another salon person who was filling up the pedicure bowl. I said, ??You must be waiting on me? and the gal filling the bowl just looked up at me, chuckled and returned to what she was doing. No acknowledgement, no greeting, no comment. (Ironically, after much time it was apparent that this person was the front desk receptionist!)

I continued to wait, now feeling a bit stupid, at the salon counter. After approximately ten minutes, another salon technician who had been sitting in the waiting area chatting with a client finally approached me. I was then finally ushered to the bowl that was previously being filled. I sat, and soaked. Sat and soaked. My appointment was at 10:30am. At 11:10 a.m., a technician finally arrived and said ??Oh, I??m supposed to be doing your pedicure?. This is the same person who was occupied with a pedicure upon my arrival. I had made arrangements to get the pedicure at 10:30 a.m., and then had a friend joining me at 11:30 a.m. for a manicure. She was not a Smart Circle member. Because the pedicure got started so late, we were not even moving to manicures until after 12 noon.

There are so many complaints about this salon; I??m not sure where to start. When we began the pedicure, I immediately told the technician I like to keep my nails long. I chatted with my friend who was waiting for me and next thing I know, I look at my right foot and my toe nails are cut down to the quick! By the time I headed back to manicure with my friend, I was frustrated that my nails had been cut so short, and the polish had been applied as though by a 3rd grader (blobs all around the cuticles). I didn??t say anything at that time, because my friend was waiting on me and we running so far behind.

The same technician who did my pedicure proceeded to do my manicure. I preceded the manicure by telling the technician that I am VERY picky about my natural nails, I only wanted my cuticles pushed back, and a French manicure polish. She then proceeded to cut cuticles and ??buff? the top of my nails with a fine file. The manicure included a paraffin wax. After the French manicure was complete, I was overall very happy with the polish job; until I flipped my hands over and noted that she had never cleaned under my nails! I had been moving six cubic yards of dirt for two weeks!

At this time, frustrated, I approached the front desk girl, who then got the shop manager. The manager made the original tech come back and remove the polish blemishes. They did offer to start over on the manicure due to the dirty nails, but I declined and advised I would clean myself at this point. (I simply did not have more time!) The salon manager offered to take $10.00 off the pedicure cost of $40.00 ?? but then proceeded (according to Smart Circle requirements, charge me full 20% tip on the FULL amount of the services).
In addition, my manicure began to peel off within one day, as the tech did not remove all of the wax from the cuticle to nail area.

I spoke with my friend later that week. She indicated her manicure had peeled off within one week as well. She stated she had called to complain, and they asked her if she was part of the ??Smart Circle?! Does it matter? She was a full paying customer.

The services received at this salon were way below par, the staff inconsiderate and under qualified.

I have gone to Unique Beautique for a few years now for pedicures and massages. I have always had great service and have been treated well. Earl, the massage therapist, is always looking for new ways to develop his already great techniques. His rates are reasonable. I went to unique beautique to have my color evened up. I gave the color number, (6n dark blond) and explained that my roots were a bit stubborn. When they were done, my hair color was dark brown and uneven. I was speechless and embarrassed. I told them it was way too dark. They shampooed it twice to lift the color. It was still so dark brown. Awful. I paid 65 dollars. I then had to pay another $60 to my regular hairdresser to fix the mess I was left with. I would have been to afraid to have gone back to this salon to fix it. In fact, I will never return. EVER! SO RUN.
