went from superb to terrible
by jessica n.
Five Forks was amazing when it opened, with delicious, innovative food. In the last few years, the restaurant has lost its superb food and imaginative menu. The owner (s) clearly do not know how to run a successful restaurant-a loss of what was one of Rockford's gems. I highly recommend not wasting your money on below average food. The wine of course is good, but it's not hard to open a good bottle.

Average Food, Small Portions At Gourmet Prices
by Gary H.
The food here is average - about what you'd get from a TV dinner - maybe not quite that good. I'd say it's about the quality you expect from one of those chain all you can eat places. The prices are OK - until you look at the portion sizes. They charge you dinner prices for appetizer portions of "so so" food. If you like getting ripped off, I highly recommend this place. If you'd like larger quantities of the same quality food for a better price, I'd highly recommend any of the chain buffets.

Great food but it is a little on the pricey with some small portions. It has a classy atmosphere with great service. It is a very clean place and wonderful for a lunch out with some friends.

Great atmosphere, great chefs!
by Barb Y.
We have had an excellent meal each time we have gone to Five Forks.
The wait staff and chefs are professional and friendly. Their fresh, homemade breads are great and the menu has many different tasty choices. Each week they feature something new and exciting. It has a Chicago feel to it.
I recommend Five Forks as the best place in the area to get a quality meal at a reasonable price.

New Look Is Disappointing
by Anonymous
I have been a big fan of Five Forks Market since it opened. But earlier this year, the owner must have brought in new kitchen people and the food has taken a hit. It's not the same friendly staff with tapas selections. My husband and I found it lame and a little rude. Too bad for a place that needs to be an A+ since it's in a strip mall.

I like this restaurant because of the terrific food that they have here. It is new in the last few years. It is always clean and just has a nice yummy feeling about it. I sure do hope you get a chance to go there.

A Strange Location for Excellent Dining

You don't expect to find world class dining in a strip mall, but there you have it. Five Forks is top notch in a town full of chain restaurants. This white linened dining spot is romantic, with candle lit tables, first class service, and a pretty good wine selection (including by the glass) for such a small place. The food is comparable to what you'd find in any big city establishment, very Wolfgang Puck. They feature trendy pizzas, beyond the ordinary salads, great fish dishes, and a flourless chocolate cake for desert that is comparable to eating a slice of chocolate truffle. The price per couple is about $50 for two for an appetizer, entree, and desert to share, well worth the money. It's not the most logical location for such a great dining experience, but there is plenty of parking!
