Masona Grill Chef and Owner Manuel Sifnugel challenges the boundaries of dining pleasure. Having created a unique dining experience with his previous restaurant Claremont Cafe, a long time South End favorite, Manuel has introduced the Parkway area and beyond to a fine New American cuisine with South American influence. Cilantro, lime, cumin, mint and ginger are key ingredients in Manuela's cooking. Colorful artwork, contemporary fixtures, hardwood floors and trendy pillows create a cozy yet upscale dining experience in a neighborhood restaurant. The in-house artisan bread is delivered warm to each table. The wine list is global and well- balanced, ranging from South Africa and Chile to California. A great deal of thought has gone into developing this selection, which pairs perfectly with the menu items. The menu changes seasonally as well as the dessert menu at Masona Grill.

I have dined at Masona Grill more times than I can count and have never been disapointed. The atmosphere and look of the restaurant are something you wouldn't expect one block off center street in West Robury. The hanger steak, scallpos, and anything ceviche are all to DIE FOR!! Had a soft shell crab special that was unbelievable with a cold cucumber salad and the best sweet potato fries EVER! The freshness and simplicity of the food make this one of the best restauntants in Boston. Do yourselves a favor and GO!!>

Pros: Amazing food!!

Cons: had to wait 20 minutes for a table(Good for them:))

We've gone a couple of time as just a couple but this time we went for my birthday, and took the teenagers. Everyone's meal was wonderful. The sweet potato mash was unbelievably good-I've tried to recreate it at home but it's not half as good. The menu offered seasonal items, everything was nice and fresh. The chocolate flourless cake was dense, moist and yummy. Everytime we have gone there, we try something new but always save room for dessert!

Pros: best dessert I've had in a long time

I went to Masona Grill last week for dinner with family and a few friends. This is a great restaurant that is tucked away in West Roxbury, if you havent been yet you need to get down there. We started with a few appetizers that were great, the mussles and calamari were unbelieveable. For dinner I had the duck, it was one of the best duck dishes I have found in Boston. Masona has a very extensive wine list as well to complimnet thier menu. I had to pass on dessert because I was stuffed, they looked good though. I would highly recommend this place and I will be returning.

Pros: Duck, wine list, service

Cons: none

Ratings_icons Nice West Roxbury Option

Overall a nice choice for the semi-suburbs - it suffers from the same ailment as other places in the area, just a little too expensive for what you get, but still quite nice.

We went on a rainy weeknight, but called ahead since we'd never been there before and knew it was small - they had a table set up with menus and water for us when we arrived. The service was very nice over all, although both courses came pretty quickly, no overlap, but a longer spell would have been okay too (I'm partial to 10 minutes or so between courses).

The menu was small, but nice. I had a beet and apple salad with walnuts and blue cheese that was excellent and scallops with celery root risotto that was also quite tasty. My husband had fish cakes and roasted chicken with green olives and finger potatoes, both were good, but we thought my meal was better. That and a $30 dollar bottle of wine (no cocktails available) got us out of there for about $100, before tip.

The decor was nice, a bit eclectic, casual, comfortable. Overall a good experience, but still not quite downtown for close to downtown prices. That being said, we'll happily be back.

Pros: good food, easy parking, nice atmoshphere

Cons: slightly overpriced
