I have been a client of Dream Acres for years. 90% of boarded horses are horses that were purchased from Dream Acres (including mine). Everyone is happy. The great thing about Dream Acres is that the farm allows each rider to ride the horse for months, in lessons and even lease the horse for as long as you want to before making a commitment to purchasing the horse. I dont know any other places that work so hard to make sure the perspective buyer has a chance to really get to know everything about the horse before making a commitment. The farm also works with their buyers allowing zero interest payments. It is one of the few places that really cares about the horses and the people. The care is immpeccable. The safety is immpeccable (for horse and rider). The majority of the horse/rider relationships last for years and years. Any many times if and when the rider outgrows the horse, Dream Acres buys the horse back! How much better can it get! The majority of Dream Acres clients are long term of more than 5 yrs. In the horse world that is a long time.

However based on the above review, as we all know, not everyone can be made happy, and everyone sees things differently. Its unfortunate that reviews only tend to be written when they are negative. More of us need to take the time to write positive reviews for all the buisness' that deserve it.

We recently purchase a horse from Dream Acres. Prior to the sale I did my research, however did not execute a vet check because I made the mistake of trusting the owner/company. In my sales contract it states the horse is approximately 9 years old, and in generally good health. You can imagine how happy my children were when we surprised them with a horse. The emotional ties children have with these animals is unreal. It is truly an amazing experience to see. However, in this case it went bad quickly. I write this so as to hopefully prevent this from happening to you.

About a month after the sale, I learned the horse is actually 14 years old, and has severe arthritis. My vet actually told my children they may never be able to ride the horse again. Needless to say the emotional impact was devastating. I have talked to many experts, and they ALL tell me the owner of Dream Acres, considered a horse expert, would certainly have known the horse had this severe arthritis problem.

If there is one thing I have learned, it is that you can trust no one. Despite the cost, get a Vet check with X-Rays before purchasing a horse. I might as well share a little more about Dream Acres.

The owner of this "MUD HOLE" of a stable is very creative and savvy. This owner uses the kids at the stable to train/develop the horses so as to increase their value which are then sold for profit. Now this is quite a brilliant strategy from a sales perspective. However it is done with blatant disregard to the strong emotional ties these kids develop with these tremendous animals..........it is traumatic to the kids. I'll never do business with this corporation again.
