You're not on the Main Line, sweetie, so you should probably tone it down a notch. I was driving by Maria Fe's "Upscale" boutique, so I decided to take in the clothes I was saving for Green Street in Bryn Mawr, since I was right there. I walked in to find a bleached blonde behind the counter sporting an orange tan from her recent vacation "down the shore"(in Wildwood, I presume). Apparently she abides by a strict, speak-when-spoken-to rule, because I had to walk to her to ask if she was accepting consignments. She looked me up and down (mind you, I'm in head-to-toe Anthropologie) and told me in a thick, lower-slower-Delaware accent that she didn't accept unwashed, unhung, K-Mart, or Target clothing that is more than a year old. And it's by appointment only. I looked around the EMPTY store at the selection on the racks in disbelief. Apparently Lily Pulitzer and the eurotrash line bebe are her most upscale offerings. And she can't be bothered to appraise clothing, even if her store looks like a ghost town. Do yourself a favor and go to Goodwill for better customer service and an equally high-end selection.

Unbelievable! Never have I seen such a disorganized rundown shop that has the nerve to portray themselves as upscale!! Clothing has armpit stains, holes and ring around the collar. Target and Dress Barn are high end designers, since when? From the moment I walked into the musty store and was greeted by a large dog I should have known then to turn around and walk out. Clothing is so jammed in that you can hardly walk and oh you haven't shopped at Marie Fe's until you experienced the rude, loud owner belittling her employees in front of you! Never will I return and how she remains in business is beyond me!?!?!?

Don't waste your time, money and gas. These people are rude, the inventory is garbage and low quality and the whole atmosphere is tacky beyond! \r
With some decent consignment shops around (Christine's in West Chester for instance) there

DO NOT consign here. I have consigned on two occassions. The first time it was okay and they took all of my childrens clothing. The second time, they were very picky and were also picky with my adult clothing, which was mostly Jcrew, Gap,

I have been in this store a few times to check out the merchandise and I tend to find what they have to be overpriced for used clothing. It seems you find better deals at the mall when items are on sale or you have a coupon. On my last

I agree, and sometimes stated open hours do not coincide with closed sign.
Check out these two consignment stores in Narberth, PA, just across street from eachother... best of main line:
http://RevivalsBoutique.com
and just across street for younger ladies/teens
http://ImaPoshGirl.com
and also there is an infant/kid consignment store too

Love the combination of merchandise they have like Prada shoes, Gucci pants, and Juicy bags, plus cute things from Lilly Pulitzer, BCBG, Banana Republic, etc. Shop has great selection of Anthropologie, too. Lots of items have the original price tag on them. It saves a trip to a bunch of stores at the mall?and it saves money!

Pros: Excellent combination of styles and brands, Always new stuff

Cons: Wish they had duplicates in every size

We worked with consignment shops for many years within the local community. Maria Fe was an excellent shop for many years. HOWEVER, the "new" owner has perverted consignment shops rules to an extreme. Checks are no longer sent when something is sold, no listing of what was actually sold, No customer service, all has been replaced with LOUD, RUDE behavior in what was once a lovely place to shop.

My friends and I love Love LOVE this store! I am always able to find great deals and TONS of high-end products at less than half the price. Every time I find something, I always get compliments (especially on the vintage Louis Vuitton pieces and one-of-a-kind Prada shoes)! I scored the perfect DKNY rain coat at Maria Fe's; it fits perfectly and was practically brand new when I bought it. I think the owner is hysterical and very down to Earth...unlike many of the snotty business owners on the Main Line (and unlike the previous comments, I love that she brings her dog to work. How awesome would it be to be able to do that?!). I would highly recommend this store to anyone; it's always my secret little "go-to" place for the perfect outfit or accessory.

I was in desperate need for a new dress for a formal event. My sister recommended I check out Maria's before heading to Nordstroms. What a cute little store. They had so many things I wanted I could have spent the day. The saleswomen was really helpful but not pushy like some of the shops I've been to. I was able to get a beautiful cocktail dress as well as a pair of shoes to match for much less than I ever thought possible. I might even be able to afford a few more Chrismas presents his year. I should have listened to my sister years ago...

Ok, so its a consignment, not Saks 5th Avenue. I believe that someone needs to remind this owner of that. This woman is THE most rude business owner I have ever encoutered. I brought in 5 Ann Taylor suits to consign, barely worn, in protective plastic so they wouldn't get messed up in transport. This woman rips off the plastic, barely looks at them and says that she doesn't want them. When I asked why not, she says there's a wrinkle. Its a PLEAT down the center of the leg on the pant! Dress pants have those. Anyway, she has been incredibly rude and snobbish every time I have encountered her. She has made me wait for 15 minutes to make a purchase because she was wrangling and yelling at her HUGE poodle who was running around knocking clothes off the racks and babysitting her granddaughter. While there is some good merchandise here, its not worth interacting with this woman who thinks she's the most important person on earth. There are plenty of other consignments stores in the area that I plan on visiting. AVOID THIS PLACE!

Pros: Good merchandise usually

Cons: RUDE owner and slightly high prices, BAD service

Well, ok, true about the new owner. She is tacky, loud and really doesn't know about good customer service. (must admit though it was to my advantage one day when she was busy talking on the phone while ringing up my order, she missed one of my more expensive items and, oops, I forgot to point that out.) Her other clerks are very helpful and attentive though. While the inventory is not quite as up-scale as Maria used to assure, it's still worth going in on a regular basis and checking things out. I always come out with at least a cute T or casual blouse.

Maria Fe's changed owners and boo hoo, another one bites the dust. On one visit, I watched the salesperson (owner?) conduct an obviously personal conversation on the phone while two customers stood waiting to make purchases. Very tacky. Price levels once indicated with color tag system - gone. Since owner change, I have visited a few times and left each time without a purchase. Brash, loud and sloppily dressed sales staffer and pedestrian items in a formerly interesting, quiet place filled with understated and elegant finds. Back to eBay, I guess.
