Mastercuts

Went to Mastercusts and got a chop job. The lady hacked away - done in 2 minutes. Didn't look good so I went back. They tried to fix it but damage was done. Went back 3rd time and got my money back. Bought a hat. Looks like the lady who hacked was the manager.

I ve been back a few times sine the store held 1 manager for a good amount of time. Ever since this store lost the manager from 4 or 5 years ago the service has declined. No remodel would make it any better. Stylists constantly are sitting reading magazines, the shelves are dusty and they dont seem to want to be bothered when you walk in. The cuts arent bad but are average, I wouldnt waste my time here unless you are stuck in a crunch- You can tell that the quality of this store has gone down hill by the fact that I used to have to wait 30 minutes or so and now never have to wait, I think I will head on over to Tulios downstairs.

I am writing this review based on my horrible experience. I gave the hair dresser specifications and requested her to do so. In between, I also told her that it is not appropriate to trim to skin on sides and back. However, she did and I had to pay full amount+ tip. I swear that I will never return to this store again.

On the whole, it wasn't worth what I spent.

I have always gone to this place for a haircut, since I moved here to Albany 4 years ago. I have curly hair, which is usually harder to cut, and more often than not, I walk away happy! I usually just get long layers, so its not too difficult. Not sure about someone wanting a fancier style though.
Not a long wait, I'm am always a "walk-in", and its very reasonably priced. They seem to listen to what I want, very friendly, (but not "too" friendly!) and they don't try to push a bunch of products on you. Great Place!
