Nagle's employs a manager by the name of Bill who is a major a******. He actually told our party to leave - twice - because we had additional people join our group. He was so pissed that we would bring in more business that he copped a major attitude toward our party. Among his many rude comments and gestures, he asked "Let's make this simple - do you want to eat here?" He also tried to explain to us "how restaurants work," and was arguing with us from the beginning - no way to treat paying customers. I've never been asked to leave a restaurant before and probably never will again. We ended up staying just by ignoring him - our server was fine and very helpful once the manager let him do his job. This guy Bill is bad for business and should be fired immediately. On a side note, he has a problem with petting all of the dogs that walk past the store, but then continues to serve ice cream without washing his hands.

Great little place in a great little town. I don't like the crowds in the Summer so I go the other 10 months of the year. It is very small so they do try to get you in and out. If you are looking for a place to sit for an hour and a half, get your food to go. Don't get me wrong, if they are rude to me even once I will never set foot inside again, but so far I haven't been disappointed. The decor is of a turn of the century pharmacy/ soda shop. Lots of interesting things to look at. Best of all, the food is very good and priced reasonably.

Don't eat at Nagle's! My husband and I went to have breakfast at Nagle's one Saturday morning. It didn't look too busy, so we were surprised that we were told there would be a twenty minute wait for a table (there were plenty empty) and were put on the waiting list. We had been riding for awhile and asked the waiter outside if we could use the rest room before being seated. He said it would be okay and we proceeded inside. Once inside we were accosted by the manager who accused us of trying to steal someone elses's table. In his words we were told that we would have to fight it out with the people on the list and he let loose a torrent of abuse. We were very scared and shaken by this guy who needs to be in an anger management program. We left and went to Dorian's to eat. The food is good, the people are nice and there is an ocean view. Don't eat at Nagle's. They bill themselves as an Ocean Grove institution, but that is just an excuse for an overblown ego trip. Take you hard earned money and go somewhere else where they will appreciate it!

Good place to grab an ice cream cone and sit outside, but not worth the wait to eat a meal inside. Food is OK, but nothing to write home about.

I had the not-so-pleasant experience of dining at Nagle's Apothecary and Cafe this past weekend.

I was dining with two of my friends, all of whom were post-collegiate years and we had ordered dinner, drinks, and dessert. We talked quietly amongst ourselves, despite the noisy environment, and were just enjoying each other's company. As we were getting ready to go, one of the individuals who worked the front door came over specifically to ask us if we "could wrap things up, as there are a lot of people waiting for a table outside."

We waited for almost an hour just to get a table for the three of us. I doubt anyone was asked to "wrap things up" to accommodate us.

Furthermore, we were only minutes away from leaving. One of my companions had just left to use the bathroom when we were not-so-politely asked to leave, after waiting for an hour, and having slight service snafus featuring a messier-than-usual dessert.

I looked around to see if anyone else had been asked to leave, but it seems only we had been targeted. Considering the food was only so-so, I didn't expect to be hustled and bustled out of the restaurant. We look young, but I didn't think we looked so young that they had any right to shoo us out of the restaurant when we were unobtrusive, more than willing to pay our bill and appropriately tip the server, and didn't cause any sort of scene.

I would have expected more from a "family" place with lines out the door. Needless to say, I am deeply disappointed and will not be returning, nor will I recommend it to anyone.

The most distinguishing characteristic of Nagle's is that it is a sit-down ice cream parlor. You can go inside the cute parlor and sit down and order your desserts. The setting of the ice cream place gives off a feeling as if you are in the 1920s. It's a good place to go at night after a long day at the beach.

What a fun place to sit down outside after a day on the beach and enjoy homemade ice cream and conversation with friends and family. The ice cream selection is excellent and the taste is out-of-this-world. Enjoy!

Known not only throughout the area but by all who visit Ocean Grove, this is the perfect spot for an after-the-beach ice cream cone, a Saturday meal, or just about anything. The atmosphere is irreplaceable - it is a refurbished and beautifully kept turn-of-the-century pharmacy-turned-restaurant. The priciness of the menu items are its only drawback.
