First of all, there was no menu handed to us when we arrived, so we were verbally told the menu with no prices. We ordered grilled scallops and crab cakes, nothing fancy, and the total on the bill came to $70!!! For two people! Now we're willing to spend $70 on a nice meal, but this was a hole in the wall place, with music from a radio that was skipping, a TV placed too high to watch the Olympics- the atmosphere wasn't at all attractive, the service wasn't great, and the food was at best mediocre.

I agree with the previous reviewer- check the bill! We had a 20% gratuity added to our bill without our permission or knowledge. We were charged $18 PER CRAB CAKE- we ordered 2, and they weren't Baltimore's best, as the owner told us and as Baltimore magazine might have told them- they were merely salted crab meat with mustard mixed in. I was unimpressed.

Keep in mind that sides are not included in the price of the dishes. We ordered steamed broccoli and green beans, and were charged $2.75 for each. While that may seem reasonable, keep in mind that they were tiny portions, and the green beans were previously frozen and cooked in butter with garlic powder on them.

Also, it took us over 30 minutes to receive our lunch, and we were the only ones in the restaurant. Based on the quality of the food, the ridiculously high prices and the long wait, we won't ever go back and we certainly hope you learn from our mistake!

I gave it one star because I cannot give zero stars. It was that bad.

Pros: I can't really think of one pro...

Cons: Hugely expensive for only mediocre food

One of the things I miss most about Maryland is Fresh Fresh Seafood in Towson. The food is fresh, homemade, and expertly prepared. Fresh Fresh is owned and operated by Chef Ricky Parker and his wife Darlene, who as server and hostess makes patrons feel right at home. How can you beat enjoying a fantastic firecracker fish 'n chips while hearing Louis Armstrong in the background? All of the food is excellent, proportions are generous, and the prices are very reasonable. What's more, the chef's range exceeds what is listed on the menu. (If you let the Parkers know you want something not on the menu, they will do their best to accommodate you. I love a good steak, and Chef Parker kept his eye out for a good cut. Best, thick steak I ever had-- and at price that didn't bankrupt me.)

It's no accident that Fresh Fresh has a host of excellent reviews ( e.g., Baltimore Sun, Baltimore Magazine, Towson Towerlight, examiner.com) and has appeared on the TV news and other television and radio shows. If I weren't in law school (and many billable hours away from any financial security), I'd be talking to Fresh Fresh Seafood now about franchise possibilities. That's how good this place is.

If you do not care about service and ethics at all then you might like restaurant.

Firstly, be sure to get an itemized check. The seemingly sweet lady has probably just added your gratuity as a part of your order and also asked for a gratuity in addition to the gratuity that she added to your check initially.

Get an itemized check before you pay the check here.

Also, it may take forever to get your meal. By forever I mean over an hour. They it takes this long to prepare a good meal.
