Message from J.P. Licks
Since 1981, we've been making our customers happy with our homemade ice cream and nonfat frozen yogurt. Even our bittersweet hot fudge and butterscotch are made from our unique scratch recipes. We also roast our own coffee at our original Jamaica Plain location (what we call the "Mother Ship;" it's where we make all our ice cream, too). In all our shops, we provide friendly service and a unique environment. We have multiple locations throughout the Boston area. Our newest shops are in Davis Square, Somerville and on Mass Ave in Arlington. Visit our other locations in Jamaica Plain, Back Bay Boston, Brookline, Newton Centre and West Roxbury and experience for yourself why we are the best in Boston. I dont really see the big hype around JP Licks. The ice cream is good, I'll eat it, but its nothing to write home about. I like Coldstone much better or just good ole Brighams.

Good Ice-cream when your in west Newton.

Much better than it's neighboring competitor and chain Coldstone creamery. They are very creative, have a big notice board so you can read all about yoga classes and some college student who gives meditation sessions, and the actual Ice-cream is very good. One I recommend: Cow Tracks.
Pros: The Ice cream.
Cons: Their are none.

Best Ice Cream in Newton Centre

Although other competition has moved into Newton Centre (e.g., Cold Stone), JP Licks is still the best ice cream in Newton Center. My favorite is the oreo coffee ice cream. They make great ice cream cakes too!

Incredible Homemade Ice Cream

Fantastic homemade ice cream -- Always fresh, always new flavors.
Recently they experimented with Tabasco, "diablo" and cucumber flavors -- but they always have your classics as well. Shakes are great, people are friendly and their coffee is a wonderful alternative to the major three chains in Boston.
Pros: Easy parking, Customer service, Clean

Top of the line ice cream.

When it comes to homemade ice cream, its either really good, or really really good. JP Licks is the latter, but you cannot go wrong with this style. The ever-evolving menu keeps customers coming back for more, and despite the almost everpresent line, there's never a long wait. And if there is, its worth it! I've never been disappointed with any selection, and the staff is more than happy to help out with a sample or recommendation. Great ice cream, great service!
