It isn't gone!! I had the same "panic" moment today! They've moved just next door in the same block! Same yummy popsicles, still no sign!! It's there, just have to spot it!

LOVED this place and looked forward to a popsicle every time I visited Nashville. Went yesterday and it's gone. If they've just relocated, please post :)

Las Paletas is one of the most creative and delicious dessert stops I've ever visited! Unfortunately, I am a tourist and the only problem is that it is too far away for me to visit regularly. I hope they soon expand and their treats make it into North Carolina!

Pros: Most creative desserts

Cons: Absolutely NO drawbacks

I went to the actual store for the first time not too long ago and I had a chocolate raspberry paleta (which was creamy and delicious)and I tasted the rose petal one - WOW! The rose petal one was very interesting! Tasted like I was sucking on a deliciously creamy rose petal. I would love to go back and try some of their other unique flavors and I look for them often while out an about during street festivals, since they usually set up a cart to sell their yummy treats.

I love this store and come here all the time to cool off with a popsicle. They are always made of fresh fruits and ingredients, which is why they taste so delicious! Don't miss it if you are in Nashville!

Cons: hard to park, a bit expensive

My sister lives in Nashville and introduced me to Las Paletas a couple years ago. Living in Raleigh, NC...we have a similar set up here called Loco Pops - but I demand a drive to Las Paletas everytime I visit Nashville. It's a simple storefront - nothing fancy on the inside - and they only accept cash. However - these popsicles are incredible. Even the funky flavors end up being pleasant surprises! I would never imagine creating a popsicle using avacado....but that is seriously one of the best flavors. Your adventurous nature will definitely be rewarded!

Las Paletas is what it says it is and nothing more, really. But that's not a bad thing at all. They have a stable of tried and true tastes--all worth trying-- that are divided into fruit and cream-based categories. Then there is a subset of rotating flavors, some of which are truly unique and surprising. My favorites have been tamarind, hibiscus, and rose petal.

if you want a sweet, cold treat, you will not be disappointed by Las Paletas.

The owners are warm and friendly, the prices are right, and the flavors are amazing! Try the guacamole or the hibiscus!

Pros: Great location: grab a popsicle and stroll by unique shops! Great atmosphere, parking available, delish goodies!

Cons: closed Sunday and Monday, no seating inside.

I love this place. I saw it on the food network and I've already been about 5 times already! The popsicles are absolutely delicious...my fav is pineapple chili, cantaloupe, and strawberrybannanapineapple. Great as a snack in the middle of the day. Don't like the location and hard to find but its well worth it once you do. Don't forget cash...they dont take credit cards

I love this place. I always look forward to eating paletas in Mexico and Central America when visiting. To me these are the best I have ever had anywhere. I love the flavour profiles( Corn, Hibiscus, and Cucumber Chili are my favorites). I am glad Nashville has embraced this business, since I find people here can sometimes be unwilling to try anything new or exotic. I wish there was some sort of signage and a little more parking, but service has always been great. They only except cash and checks, no plastic, just make sure you bring plenty cash because you will surely feel the urge to buy more than one.

This place is not fancy, its not easy to find, but their gourmet popcycles are like finding heaven for your taste buds. This place is worth looking for and visiting often. Employees are friendly, helpful, and will spend the time to help determine the flavor that you might like the best. I love this place.

The episode airs this week: Wed evening at 8:30 I think. Las Paletas is the best local secret. Anybody know the locations you can get them locally besides the shop?

You just don't find a better popsicle. Period. Whether it's traditional cookies n' cream or the exotic Chocolate Wasabi, it's all good! And at just $2.50 a pop, who can resist? Seriously, awesome. Period. BTW does anyone know when the actual episode of Throwdown with Bobby Flay featuring Las Paletas is going to air?

Pros: Eccentric flavors, made fresh daily

Cons: What?

This place is wonderful. There are some very unique flavors, too bad we couldn't try them all. Kind of hard to find this place but worth the hunt. Priced right at a $1.00 each. Service was very pleasant.

I wish more people knew about this place! My best friend and I have started referring to the popsicles as secret popsicles. If you can't make it out to the actual store or don't want to make a trip just for popsicles you can find a small variety of them at places like Fido and Baja Burrito. My best friend swears by the Blueberry Chocolate Chip (which, indeed, is incredible). I'm a big fan of the caramel and the cantaloupe (which tastes EXACTLY like cantaloupe...).

Cons: 2.50 might seem like a lot to pay for a popsicle, but it's well worth it for the originality!

Las Paletas is a little difficult to locate if you haven't been there before. It's tucked into the bottom corner of a strangely Post Modern looking building on 12 South, just across from Sevier Park. The pink building has random, jutting metal pieces of architecture but no sign for Las Paletas. The parking lot is a bit small, so it fills up rather easily. However, if you manage to find a spot in the lot or on a nearby street, you won't be disappointed.

Try the Cantalope

I can honestly say that these popsicles are well worth the money. They are fantastic on hot days, always fresh, and there is never a shortage of variety. Once you find this place, you will never forget where it is. A suggestion from a seasoned Paletas customer is to take a freezer bag with you or buy one from them. You will never be able to get enough of these frozen treats.

Pros: One of a kind treat

If you haven't been here and you like frozen treats, go immediately! (Just don't go on Sunday or Monday, as I have done sometimes - they're closed). There are so many delicious flavors to choose from, sometimes I get two - one to eat and one to take home - but of course I eat both of them before even getting to my front door. They're a bit pricey, I would say, but it hasn't stopped me from going quite frequently - worth every penny, in my opinion!

You really havent lived until you have had a popsicle at Las Paletas. They are the best kept dessert secret in town. The ladies that work there are so friendly and love to tell you about the different flavors. My favorite so far is Rosepetal, but I have also tried the HOT chocolate, chocolate with hot peppers in it! They are all wonderful and I have never been unsatisfied. Make sure you run by the ATM first though because they don't take credit.

Las Paletas - what a treasure! wonderful, creative flavors, simple, well done shop. Bring your own cooler of freezer bag so you can take some home - you'll have a hard time deciding on just one flavor.

Once you find Las Paletas beware - you will become addicted. These fresh fruit and cream popsicles are not the ones from your childhood; they're better! Strawberry, peach, honeydew, cantaloupe and watermelon are delicious. The Mexican Caramel and Coffee are some of the tastiest frozen treats I've ever had.
If you're looking for them on 12th they're at the corner of 12th (Granny White) and Kirkwood in the art deco building. Bring a cooler and stock up!

Last July, I was scouting out restaurants on Citysearch, preparing for my pending move to Nashville, when I stumbled upon Las Paletas. Having grown up in a handful of small towns in Pennsylvania, the notion of Mexican popsicles was entirely knew, exotic, and intriguing to me. I moved to Nashville in August, but it wasn't until I saw a review in the Scene that my attention was brought back to Las Paletas. I soon found myself driving up and down 12th Avenue South in search of the tiny store. I was dubious as I approached the unmarked storefront, but my fears melted away as I stepped inside and was greeted by Irma Paz. After my first tingly lick of the "Hot" Chocolate popsicle, I was hooked. I have since tried the Mexican Caramel, Hibiscus, and Coffee flavors...and with the coming of the warmer months, I WILL be back for more.

There should be a 12-step program for those of us recovering from Las Paletas addictions. I'm not sure how I lived here nearly five years and never found this place until I recently drove by and noticed the quirky architecture of the building that houses Las Paletas. The building gives you an idea of what you're in for once you go in because these are no ordinary popsicles. They are amazingly fresh, and the assortment of flavors can be mind-bogglingly strange but wonderful.

All of my experiences at Las Paletas have been great.

My boyfriend swears by the hibiscus and the Mexican caramel; I prefer the basil and mixed berry varieties. And all of the fruit pops are light, delicate, and delicious, with big chunks of fresh fruit.
