Royal Glass is completely full of it and WILL NOT stand behind their work!

A few years ago our car was vandalized and we took it to the Alexandria Store. Weeks ago our car was hit and when taking it to the body shop they discovered that the window Royal TRIED to repair in the past was negligently done - the vapor barrier was not sealed and they even left broken glass in the door. This shotty and careless job caused the entire door panel to rot, black mold to build up and now needs replacing to the tune of over $1,000. I told the manager (supposedly of all Royal Glass stores) about this and he wasn't saying much. I specifically told him that if he didn't believe me he could go see it at the autobody shop which he did. He acknowledges the shotty work but is stuck on the idea that this is 3 years ago and there is no warranty so they won't reimburse us.

Well, there is NO QUESTION there is negligence here on the part of Royal Glass and that not only did they not do the repair right (that I could understand) but that the shotty work caused expensive damage to my car. The statute of limitations for this in VA is 5 years so the whole warranty argument is total bunk - if your work isn't guaranteed fine, but that doesn't give them the right to DAMAGE my car in the process of screwing up the work! The Manager couldn't and didn't want to understand this - he somehow thinks that just because his work isn't covered Royal Glass has free reign to damage cars.

I can understand the shotty work - stuff happens. I can understand that stuff breaks, and understand the idea of warranties. But for them to KNOW that unwarrantied work caused major damage to my car and STILL try to hide behind the lack of a warranty a) makes no logical or legal sense, and b) shows how scketchy and unprofessional they are.

Given the time that has passed and information presented we have been unable to determine what exactly happened in this case. But excuses don't matter. Dont turn up when they say they will, say they can do a job and then make excuses about why they cant do the job when it is very clear the only reason is that they cant bother to turn up.
Leave you waiting for them with no notification of failure to complete.
Save yourself a headache and just avoid.

All they had to do was replace the glass in a house window at the Havre de Grace store. They called two days after we dropped it off and said they needed a deposit to start the work. After we got it home, we realized that it was put back together backwords and parts were missing. It is Friday evening, and it is going to be in the 20's this weekend so we had to fix it ourselves. There hours are very inconvenient and they are pricey considering the poor quality of work.
