.

The decor is sort of baroque vs Times Square neon. We have had dim sum here on several occasions. The food was actually pretty good, though it did lack variety.

Based on our past dim sum experience there we decided to try the place out for dinner.
Here is where the whole experience goes downhill. When we arrived the restaurant was empty, yet we were seated right next to the bathrooms. The crispy garlic chicken that we ordered came out within 5 minutes and had a rubbery, micro-waved quality about it. The fish in black bean sauce didn??t taste fresh. The house special steak was way overcooked and the sauce that came with it was sour, gamey and sweet ?? not qualities I look for in steak. The crispy skin tofu was the only tasty part of our meal.

The staff was inattentive at best. They were more concerned with moving several tv??s around. I actually had to snap my fingers (which I hate doing) to eventually get someone to bring another soda. In order for us to get the check, all three of us waved our arms frantically and I had to shout to get their attention. When we finally got our check there was an illegal 18% surcharge already added on. There wasn??t a notice of a surcharge anywhere. When we questioned the guys in the suits about it we were told it??s a surcharge that??s always implemented at night. When pressed further they all replied ??I just work here, there??s nothing I can do about it?

We had a truly disgusting experience and we will never eat here again.

The Linden Place has been the center of quite a few of our family events. Two years ago, my aunt held her wedding reception here, and of all the weddings/wedding receptions that I've been to, I'd have to say this one was the greatest. The interior is super elegant... some reviewers believe it's possible that the building used to be a part of the Flushing Town Hall right around the corner, which explains its "magnificent" architectural details: enormously tall entrance, high ceiling, huge crown molding, oil paintings from 1x century (supposedly) , etc. Though these structures may be remnants from the original building, the building is now completely owned and operated by Chinese-Americans.

They also serve dim sum when they are not holding wedding receptions and other banquets. I've been there once for dim sum, and it was pretty darn tasty.

Some of our family friends also come here every month or so to go dancing here. They say it's an amazing experience... This would be my dream place to hold my wedding reception!

If you grew up in Manila, you would have been raised on the best of American, Continental and Asian cuisine. Linden Place will surely be a treat. As you walk into the restaurant, you will be visually impressed by the old world western architecture and interiors. But the best is being treated to a sumptuous choice of Chinese Dimsum carts 11:00 to 3:00 p.m. everyday. Chinese ladies make the rounds of the tables and customers pick the delicacies they fancy to their hearts' delight. MMMM Yum !!
