My roommate and I rented an apartment many problems with it. The windows were not sealed and leaked when it rained. The wind would blow through the windows, making it impossible to heat or cool the apartment. Our ceiling was not sealed either. On several occasions, our upstairs neighbor spilled liquid--one time milk--and it rushed right through the ceiling. As soon as we heard ""oh no"" from above, our floor was soaked. Centerpoint failed to fix any of the problems with our apartment. My towel bar was never properly attached, and maintenance only ""repaired"" the problem by placing the towel rack back on the wall. As soon as a towel was hung, it fell again. And the apartment was very noisy. We could hear it when the upstairs neighbor would walk, turn over in bed, or have anyone over. The street noise was unbearable. Being on the third floor we could hear people on the street talking, and the light rail sounded as if it has a stop in our living room (this is probably due to the thin, poorly sealed windows).\n\nWhen we moved out, I asked about paint charges. I was told that the complex painted once every three years, and that if they were going to do a full paint on our apartment, that we would be charged 2/3 the cost because the paint had depreciated in value 1/3 over our tenancy. When we moved out, every piece of furniture was removed, and the employee recommended a partial paint. Despite this, Centerpoint charged us for a full paint, citing our damage as egregious, and refused to only charge us 2/3 of the cost after they explicitly promised to do so. The pictures we were shown included the broken towel rack, several place rubs on the wall, and two small holes that had been filled with spackle. Nothing was egregious about the pictures, and it was hard to imagine an inspector recommending a partial paint when there was in fact ""egregious"" damage. We lived in an arguably uninhabitable apartment--with a essentially a leaking roof and unsealed windows. Centerpoint exaggerated the damage and refused to apply its painting policy to our apartment.

Pros: Big apartment

Cons: Terrible customer service, leaky ceiling, unsealed windows

I lived in one of the historic lofts at this property overlooking Howard street. While the view was not fantastic, the apartment itself had lots of character. The open floor plan, exposed brick, lofted second bedroom and cool pully coming out of the wall were all great details. The ceilings were at least 20 feet and amazing. There was quite a bit of street noise from the light rail below, but is something you get used to pretty quickly. The surrounding are still needs to see some improvement, but never felt unsafe during daylight hours. We had occasional noise issues with our neighbor and thin walls, and some bug issues when we first moved in, but these were all resolved. Overall, we miss this apartment!
