Unfortunately the previous owner seems to have left a bad taste in everyone's mouth. But now it seems as though the new owner has completely changed the store around and truly cares about her customers. Consignors get emails with a detailed description of items she accepted and you can even track your items online, see what you have sold and your account balance.
The store is a lot more organized and she even offers brand new Melissa and Doug toys for a reasonable price. Great selection of fall clothing, shoes, books, and toys,

I love milk money. In my opinion, the size is perfect. I don't have to spend a day culling through massive racks- I know that Gina, with her expert eye has selected only the best condition and nicest clothing. I don't mind paying full price at bigger stores, but I always feel smart shopping at Milk Money. I can get bags of clothes for less than a new outfit or two. Plus, I streamline my kids closets, bring in stuff that we can't use, maybe make a little money and have the good feeling that comes with knowing that what doesn't sell will go on to those with greater needs. Sure makes my life easier. I love that Gina keeps her overhead low by giving the personal touch to pricing, etc. She knows what people will buy and what they will pay for it in the Princeton market. If you want to make a ton of money off of your kids used clothes then this is not a way to do that--use ebay where you can spend hours setting up the pictures, managing the posting, driving to UPS to ship things out and then you can deal with disgruntled customers. This is a Princeton gem and works great for everyone that I know. If it doesn't work for you, set your expectations realistically.

I have shopped/consigned at Childrens stores for about 5 years, so when I heard of the store in Princeton recently, I couldn't wait to go. The store is small, like the front room of a small home and sparse of clothes. I thought with back to school and the change in season, this could be the reason, but the store owner told me she had more items than normal. I have boys and their selection seems to be limited everywhere and I am used to that. I found a few things for my 5t and 2t sons. The prices were much higher than I had paid, in another kids consignment store in Hamilton. Pair of Gymboree jeans were $8. And I usually pay $3.99. As I checked out, she handed me a flyer to consign and proceeded to tell me that she can only accept pants/jeans from Gap and Gymboree, her clientele has become that way. I was shocked. I know the store is in Princeton, but it is used clothing, if you want boutique clothing and cannot afford it, get over it! The store could accept much more clothing, with a little organizing, it could fit 50% more, plus baby gear, which was lacking. I won't be consigning here, too much hassle. If I am in the area, I might stop in to browse, but won't make a special trip. Dissapointing, thought it would be much better!

The store sounds like a great idea, but it does not have much selection. Things that I did like, were priced higher, than I would have like to spend. More girls clothes than boys. Don't go in there looking for something in particular, go with an open mind.

Milk Money is a cute store, but very tiny. I think because of it's size it is limited in what is has to offer. I found very few items of clothing to choose from for my 6 month old son. The prices did seem reasonable and the owner is very kind.

I have to disagree with the previous poster. I do not find Milk Money to be overpriced.

While I have never sold anything at Milk Money and cannot comment on that experience, I have purchased numerous items for my son. They are of high quality (this may be the reason the previous poster's items were donated... perhaps they were not saleable) and I've gotten them at a very reasonable price.

Anyway, I urge anyone reading to give the shop a chance. I've only had pleasant experiences in the shop. While I wish there was a little more inventory for boys, I cannot complain as I have found some wonderful bargains and I think this is a great way to recycle!

Check it out for yourself. Consigning is not for everyone, but buying things at Milk Money has worked out very nicely for me and my son.

milk money is a rip off! i would never recommend anyone consign or buy there! as a longtime princeton resident i thought i would give consigning a try. BAD IDEA! i dropped off many items, was told a few items sold and the rest had disappeared. the owner said the rest must have been in "rotation" at the back of her store or she decided the stuff was unsellable and donated it to charity! why did she take it in the first place if it was unsellable?? she doesn't keep track of anything she is doing- no inventory lists or selling lists. she is completely disorganized and clueless. also, her prices are inflated- consignment stores are supposed to set prices at 30% of retail but she charges 50%. it is easier to use those bins to dump your clothes into!! SCAM SCAM SCAM
