I must start off by disagreeing with the review made by Sarah K. I would like to know what barn runs up to you and greets you when you pull in...I've never been to one that does that. If you are a rider, you would understand that all employees of the barn are most likely feeding horses, giving lessons, cleaning/mucking the stalls, etc. I've never been to a barn and had someone approach me and greet me upon my entrance. For that type of service I recommend you enter Neiman Marcus or a restaurant if you like to be greeted! Any horse rider knows you have to walk into the actual barn or riding ring and there you will find employees, the owner, or even a client who will tell you where to go. I've been to many barns and this is the first time my 11 year old daughter has felt safe and confident riding. She has always loved horses, yet has never felt very secure on a horse at any other barn we visited. Ever since meeting Ashley, the owner of Summit Farm, she loves riding and asks to go there everyday after school. Ashley is sweet, very professional and wonderful with children. As far as the barn itself, I would like to know of 1 barn that is in immaculate condition. This barn is always kept very clean and orderly. It is safe and in good condition. When coming to this farm 3 years ago, I didn't care about the actual structure, rather the cleanliness and upkeep of the facility, and for that it gets an A+! My main priority is the service I received from the owner and employees, which was exceptional, and more importantly my daughter loves everything about it!!

I came up from the city expecting to have a riding lesson which I paid for in advance. Not only was there no one to greet me, but the place was rundown. The barn looked like it was going to fall down around me. I had no idea where to go, so I stood around waiting. Finally someone greeted me, but was not that apologetic. Not a great lesson either. Would not recommend this place

I consider myself very lucky to have found Summit Farm after making my living riding top horses for 15 years and then taking 15 years off. I bought a great horse there 1 1/2 years ago and I would not want to board anywhere else. The trainers are professional and they understand the different learning styles of both horses and riders. Lessons and board are affordable and available to all riding levels and all ages. Many of the younger clients are successfully competitive, but the atmosphere is not at all rivalrous. Everyone feels like part of a family that works together and has a lot of fun together. I give Summit Farm and its owner, Ashley Yozzo 6 stars! (If I could)

Summit Farm is a super riding and boarding facility, with a large indoor riding ring that is perfect for winter riding and a nice outdoor ring. Ashley Yozzo has always kept the atmosphere at Summit upbeat and cheerful! The stalls are well maintained by her friendly staff, and the horses and ponies are very well cared for. My daughter has been riding for years and has never found that sense of "family" that exists at Summit Farm at any other barn in Westchester or Vermont. They offer great training on all levels, do lots of shows locally, as well as summer shows in VT, CT, VA and NY. Ashley also works with young children as part of an after school program through our elementary school and also runs a summer camp, teaching the kids equestrian skills in all areas. She also has a passion for working with people with disabilities. Anyone at any level will feel welcome as soon as they visit the farm.
The self confidence that my daughter has gained as a rider through Ashley's guidance will last her a life time!

I've been riding with Ashley at Summit Farm for 6 years, she's really taken me under her wing. It's a very cheerful, family atmosphere. You can learn a lot from either of the trainers with no stress. They have tons of patience so you don't feel pressure to get everything right the first time. The horses and ponies available at Summit are wonderful, as are the indoor and outdoor rings. I strongly recommend riding there if you're looking for somewhere to begin your riding career, or if you're unhappy with the barn you're riding now

A very down to earth barn and fun barn with its emphasis on the right things. Nice people, great horses, relaxed atmosphere with terrific trainers and access to the trails.

Great place to keep you horse if you need an indoor arena...particularly great for the winter if you cannot go south. Decent turnout, training available, nice size stalls.
