The staff (especially the MANAGER) at this place are extremely rude and unaccommodating. In addition to the people in my party, others actually left because of this. There are way better places in Baltimore.

Pros: Great live music

Cons: Rude staff

The food took so long to be served that my friend's grits had a film over them and my french toast was as dry as a stale baguette. When we asked for a manager regarding the cold food, the manager responded: "It's brunch, we're busy." No apology or attempt at resolution. I have never been treated so rudely in a restaurant and with such a bad attitude as I did by this manager. So by conclusion, if you are looking for your meal to be warm/hot when served, or if you are looking for service with a smile, don't consider the Waterfront Hotel an option.

I had great things about their brunch from a couple of people. Five of us went to brunch because their menu looked good and they had bottomless bloody marys and mimosas for $10. We arrived and the place was packed upstairs and downstairs. Everything started off well. They took our drink orders fairly quickly and arrived within good time. Good thing - the mimosa was not pure OJ and drinks came quickly. Things went downhill from there. We ordered and the waitress was rude. Drink refills were slow and our food came out 45 minutes later cold. By this time we were starving and started eating. 15 minutes later they asked how our meal was. We said cold and asked to speak to a manager. No manager came and when someone new started clearing our plates, we again asked to speak to a manager. The person bussing was the manager and she too was rude and told us she couldnt do anything about the food. The menu was misleading too. Portions were small (no ginormous french toast by any means) and the fruit was a garnish. Ironically another set of friends were there and they were just as disappointed. By my 3rd mimosa, there was barely any champagne. We walked out very upset and still hungry. Do not recommend brunch.

My husband and I went to the Waterfront Hotel (it's a restaurant, not a hotel!!) for our first date night our after our daughter was born. While they have a more casual bar scene downstairs, upstairs is an intimate dining setting with a view of the water. Our food was amazing - I had garlic cream gnocchi an my husband had fish. It was incredible, as were our onion fritter appetizers. We lingered and enjoyed drinks without feeling any pressure to leave and also enjoyed the warm fireplace. I definitely recommend it!

Great brunch and appetizers also.
Pool tables are the bonus.
Lots of historic ambience surrounds you.

No, the Waterfront Hotel isn't really a hotel anymore, but there are a number of reasons why it's a good idea to dine---if not sleep---there. One of the oldest buildings in Baltimore, the Waterfront has played many roles in its 200-plus…
