This store has been a complete nightmare. My sister ordered her wedding gown and when she went to try it on, it had make-up stains in two obvious locations. My sister doesn't even wear make-up so why was the supposedly "new dress" stained already. When my Mom and I went back to pick up her dress, we took it home without looking at it (DO NOT MAKE THAT MISTAKE). They had it all bagged up and we assumed all was fine. A few days later, my Mom unzipped the dress to find a large gash on the front. We took it back to the store and they accused my Mom of cutting the dress. She didn't want her money back; she just wanted it fixed or replaced. The seamstress, Ina, took the dress to the bag and put a very ROUGH stitch in it. I could have done a better job. The dress is unwearable. I emailed corporate tonight.

They also sent my bridesmaid dress to California instead of Pennsylvania and called to tell me to come pick it up. Nice. Do not buy from this store unless you want to be treated like a common criminal.

POOR customer service! I already live over two hours away from this location. However, because the store is in the bride-to-be's hometown, all of the girls' in the party made the trip. I went into this whole experience expecting it to be worthwhile. WRONG!

During the fitting I was told by the employee that my waist was a different size than my bust which put me between two different dress sizes. The employee then continued to just stare at me. I asked what she would suggest and she informed me that it was my call. Shouldn't the employee know? Or at least have something to suggest?

When my dress came in, one of the girls in the bridal party was nice enough to pick it up for me. Which worked out great. Even "my call" for the dress was correct. Thank goodness! HOWEVER, the stitching arcoss the bust was off! I called the store three times and left a message. They failed to return my calls. FINALLY I was able to talk with an employee who explained to me that I would have to pay for the alterations. It took everything in me to be calm and polite. After asking several questions and making multiple points, the employee told me that they should be able to cover the cost of the alterations and if not, that they could order a new dress. However, the catch was that I HAD to come to the store with the dress so they could see it on me.

In my attempt to make the situation easier, I suggested the idea of mailing the dress to them. After four seperate phone calls in one day and an email with multiple photos of the dress on me, they agreed. The employee who viewed the photos told me that she could not see anything wrong with the dress. EXCUSE ME!? It is obvious that the stitching is off on the one side since the fabric does not lay correctly and is bunched up. In addition, the other side's stitching makes it look like I have an inverted nipple showing through my dress.

Regardless of their opinion, I explained to them that I refused to pay for errors on the dress from the factory and that I would have the dress in the mail in the next couple of days. I was told that I better hurry since it is crunch time and that I should just come by the store. Did they not listen to a thing I said?? Sighhhhh....

Let's hope this works. Fingers crossed...

PLEASE DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. The dresses are beautiful and affordable but working with this company has been a NIGHTMARE.

I was told by a sales associate that my dress was paid for before I agreed to the astronomical alteration fee of $400. Thinking that my dress was paid in full by my mother, I was able to afford the alterations. Otherwise, I would have taken the dress elsewhere for half the price. They let me sign an alteration agreement which states that my dress was paid for. After my dress was altered (and they made me drive 1 1/2 hours TWICE to try and pick it up), I took it home. FIVE MONTHS LATER they called me to tell me I still owed $370 for my dress and that there was a mistake and I never should have been able to have my dress altered or to take it home. My wedding is TWO months away. Because I don't have the money to pay for the dress (since I spent the rest of my dress budget on alterations), they are sending my account to collections. Now I am stuck with a dress I cannot afford and cannot return... because of THEIR mistake. I believe they waited to tell me about their "mistake" for five months so that I was so close to my wedding date (which they were well aware of) so that I had no choice but to keep the dress, even if I was able to talk them into letting me return it.

Also, two of by bridesmaids were sized wrong and the wrong dress size was ordered by the store. They were told they were not allowed to exchange the dress. They now must pay over $150 to get it altered because the dresses are so huge.

Please do not go to this store. The dresses are very nice but the headache and the bad credit score is not worth it.

Update-- after filing an official complaint with the district manager, the store did provide me with another dress--albeit late. My "wouldn't recommend:" rating still applies. Although the dresses are beautiful, it is not worth the irritation to work with the store.

I went to this store because I really liked the dresses on the alfred angelo website. I found the perfect dress and paid in full when i ordered it. They promised I would have the dress by thanksgiving. Not only did my dress not come in when they said it would, every time I called it was a different story. I was told everything from "you already picked it up" to "we don't know where it is". My personal favorite though was when the very rude manager told me "if it doesn't come in in time for the wedding, all sales are final you can pick it up after." I did finally get my dress 2 weeks before my wedding, and the dress is perfect. I wouldn't buy here again though because it was too stressful and the staff was too rude.

There was no feeling of it being a "special day", as there should be for a bride! The girls were ok, but really didn't offer help or advice. I got the feeling like it was an upscale Walmart! I would not recommend this place as there are plenty of other places much more accomodating.
