Great experience at 5 guys in Germantown. We go often and always have good food.

One time my hot dog was a little cold in the center I took it back let them know and within minutes they had a new one and were very apologetic.

Five guys is a great place for burgers or hot dogs and I highly recommend.

Before entering into this less than chic hole-in-the-wall like food shop, you are greeted with an ominous warning: Peanuts Served in Open Containers. And indeed, once you do enter, the peanuts are there in open containers; free to be eaten while waiting on your order or after your meal, and free to let the shells just drop to the floor like discarded shells, devoid of their tasty nuts, should be. Dirty? No. Rude? Possibly. Why? Because this is the atmosphere of Five Guys.

Five Guys is THE best place for fast food burgers. The whole care-free attitude of the place leaves the customer with a happy care-free attitude as well, and thankfully it doesn't also transfer over to the workers. The take your order from a whole smorgasbord of toppings available (even A-1 sauce!) with 4 kinds of burgers to choose from, each with their own size, regular or small. I'd recommend the small to people without a hefty appetite, because the regular burgers feature two hand-formed beef patties that are made fresh daily.

Let's dive into the foods themselves. The hotdog is the best hotdog that you can buy outside of the ball park. The fact that they cut the dog in half before cooking, is somewhat of a dissapointment while eating, because most of the juiciness of the dog has been cooked, leaving it a bit dry.

But the hotdogs are nothing more than cannon fodder, and option if you will, because the burgers are what make the place famous. The burgers, with their delicious bread that just melts in your mouth, perfectly complement whatever burger you picked to go with it. The all beef patties are handmade and are equally delicious, and gives a supple and full beef flavor that bests whatever Mcdonald's can dish out, but doesn't leave you the "itus" feeling you get with Burger King. The best fast food burger ever, is the only way to describe the taste.

And lets not forget the perfect complement to the wonderful burger, the fries. Made by soaking the sliced potatoes (a sign at the side of the cashier tells patrons where their fries are coming from this week) in ice before cooking in peanut oil, the fries have that complete distinct flavor of Ocean City's own fries found at the boardwalk. Plenty of vinegar can be found, and at the patron's choice, you can even get Cajun spices (Old Bay) on the fries. NOTE: Get the spices on the side, because the generous heaping of spices the workers give can be overwhelming.

All in all, it is the a casual place that people of all ages can enjoy, and is also a must for parents of young children. Highest recommendations.

NOTE: Please be aware if your children are allergic to peanuts. Peanuts are served in free open containers, and the fries are also cooked in peanut oil.
