I heard about Shimon from a friend and decided to try them after I moved back from NY and needed a new salon. I was really pleased with my cut and color! I have hard-to-manage hair and my new cut is so easy to work with and looks great. The stylists were friendly and the salon itself was very clean. I will definitely be back!

this was the worst hair cut I've ever had. I felt like she just took her scissors and was cutting all over the place and didn't know what she was doing. she seemed as if she was in a rush. she kept using all these products in my hair trying to get me to buy them. i think she should be in sales rather than a hair stylist. i paid $70 for nothing which is horrible i could have done a better job myself.

i get my hair colored here and it always comes out looking great! They also do cuts, manicures and pedicures. The salon is very clean and everyone is friendly. Prices are reasonable as well.

I have been looking for a good hairstylist for a long time. I live by Shimon's salon, so one day I made a appointment where I met this wonderfully talented stylist, her name was Souad. Souad gave me a beautiful haircut. IT was a great expereince. She even advised me on how to self-blowdry and which products I should use. I loved every minute of it !! I reccomend Souad to anyone who has difficulty finding a stylist because she really listened to me. She did wonders to my hair, because my hair is tough to manage.

I tried to make an appt to see Julie. I was told she wasn't there, but Shimon himself said that he would do my hair for the same price that Julie charged (I get partial highlights and a trim), I didn't want to try it, but I was overdue, and I didn't know where else to go. He did a horrible job! He was really messy with the highlights, leaving huge blond dots all over my head. I ended up going somewhere else where they had to highlight and lowlight every strand of my hair to fix the horrible mess he had made. It took them hours to fix!

ps - while there I heard that Julie moved to NH with her boyfriend - if anyone finds her, let me know.

I use to see Julie and was very sad to see her go and also nervous to try anybody else BUT since the location is so convenient for me I decided to try someone new in the salon.
I tried Erika for cut & color and she did an amazing job! She took her time w/ me and really listened to my needs. So I?m back and loving my hair!

I absolutely love Shimon. Everyone there is super talented and nice. However, my last visit met w/great surprise. My favorite stylist had left!

I just moved to the city and was in desperate need of a new stylist and colorist. I saw Erika for both my fully highlight and color. This is by far in years the best highlight and color I have ever had. I have been to several top saloons, Deryl Christophers, Moodz and Stars, and this was the best cut I've had! I continuly keep getting complements. My hair has never been so soft and shiny since. Erika used a gloss which did wonders for my hair. While I was getting my consulation, Shimon came over to check up and see how it was going. He advised and gave his recommendations. There was absolutly no product pushing, which I loved. It was about 40 dollars more than I usually pay, but well worth it. I will be going back, and have convinced my mom to give Shimon's salon a try.

There really isn't one piece of constructive criticism that I could offer about this salon. After years of trekking to Newbury Street, spending a lot of money and receiving a lot of attitude, Shimon Salon has made getting my hair done an enjoyable experience again. First of all, I found the atmosphere very relaxing (and spotless!). Secondly, I received the best color (thank you Erika) that I can remember. Usually my color starts to fade after a couple of weeks, but it still looks just as good today as it did when I had it done. Erika was very friendly and knowledgeable as far as giving me tips to make the color last longer. She really listened to what I had in mind for the style and then offered a number of different suggestions of how to achieve the look. I am 100% satisfied with my style and color and very happy that I found a permanent hair salon again. Thanks to everyone from Shimon Salon. See you in a few weeks.

Finally, I found a wonderful salon. It is simply perfect, Shimon is amazingly talented with both cut and color. It's very professional, the atmosphere is so friendly, and the music keeps you groovin all the way till the last snip. Love it, thank you Shimon for your fabulous Salon!

I recently found Shimon and Shimon Salon through a co-workert hat has been a client of his for years. All I have to say is WOW! I feel great!! My hair is difficult... thick, course, and tends to get frizzy. Shimon was able to not only give me a beatiful cut but helped educate me on what I need to do, day to day, to manage my the frizziness. I highly recommend Shimon as he is not your typical stylist but also an educator. I feel so strongly anout my experience that I plan on recommending Shimon to any of my friends/associates that are looking for a new stylist!

The attention to detail and knowledge of hairstyling that Helen employs is paramount. She never rushes and and actually talks you through the methods she uses to make your hair the way you want it. Her key technique that stands out from the rest, is that she follows that patterns of how your hair grows and cuts the hair from those patterns. and especially for men shes great with the razor and uses techniques I've never seen before with other hairstylist before I came to her. i've been going to Helen for about a year now and will continute to go to her to have my hair done. - robert

Erika gave me the BEST foil and cut I have had in probably my entire life. I had the same hair dresser for 25 years and I left her to go to Erika, and it was WELL worth it. I have had so many compliments on my hair I feel like a new woman! Thanks Erika! See you in 6 weeks!

I discovered the Shimon salon by chance and I'm very pleased that I did. Helen at the salon is now my regular stylist and I make sure that I visit her every 6 weeks to keep my hair looking its best. I have extremely (naturally) curly hair which has improved in appearance and condition since Helen started cutting it. Helen's attention to detail ensures that I always leave the salon with a great haircut; the curls are more defined and the cut frames my face perfectly. Helen is also happy to undertake the mammoth task of blow-drying my hair straight and gets better results than any other stylist that I've visited. The salon uses Bumble and Bumble products which are effective and smell so good that I now use them at home. Thanks to Helen's skills and advice my hair is in great condition and stays looking good between appointments. I would not hesitate to recommend Helen and the Shimon salon to anyone.

I found myself in Boston one December day and decided that I needed a good haircut. Walking down Tremont, I noticed Shimon Salon and walked in. It was my lucky day, because I chanced upon a great salon and a wonderful stylist, Helen. I had dreary, shoulder length blunt cut which she shaped and transformed into a precision cut that is both attractive and easy to manage. In addition, she introduced me to Bumble and Bumble products that have improved the overall appearance of my dry , overprocessed hair.
I live in New Hampshire, a 2 1/2 hour drive away, but it is worth the trip for the service, style and friendliness of the salon. I highly recommend Shimon Salon and, especially, Helen.

I am a recent college graduate and have been floating around from salon to salon for the past five years in search of the perfect blonde highlights. I have been to the cheapest places in the mall to the most expensive places on Newbury but never found somewhere that I deemed worthy of going back to a second time. I was so impressed with Shimon Salon that I have already scheduled my next appointment. I can finally say that my exhausting search is over. Julie was wonderful. She really listened to my concerns and seemed to understand my hair type. She took her time and was extremely thorough, leaving me with beautiful, natural-looking highlights. Julie suggested products for me to use but didn't try to push me to buy things from the salon. Everyone (the receptionist, stylists, the owner) was very down to earth and friendly. I was also impressed with the reasonable pricetag-my hair is pretty long and I am used to paying extra for it (having the option of putting the tip on a credit card is also a big plus).

This is the best haircut I have ever had, what I had been looking for for years. The color is great too. I had been wanting to cut my hair shorter for a long time but my old hairdresser would not do it. I finally got it done here and it was better than imagined.

I have bounced from one salon to another trying to find a great hairstylist. I found one at Shimon Salon! Helen (she's relatively new to the salon) cut my hair and it was amazing! It came out a bit shorter than I expected but that was due more to a lack of explicit communication on my part. But it is one of the best haircuts I have ever received! I got so many compliments that it made me love the cut even more. Also, seeing the other stylists at work - I saw all the fabulous new styles that were walking out the door. The staff was very friendly and attentive as soon as I walked in - Shimon came over and consulted with me as well. I was so delighted by this visit that I might go in for a cut & color next even though I've always been afraid to color my hair. Shimon Salon gets top marks from me!

The best experience i have ever had at a hair salon in my entire life. Im usually Sceptical and not trustworthy of people handling my hair, because of my ethnicity(Asian), but Suead was FANSTASTIC!.She made be feel entirlely comfortable and the outcome of my hair was great! Great cut and color! highly recommended without any reservation. She is the Best of all who dealt with my hair till now. Suead is the Best.

MY HAIR WAS WAIST LENGHTH, I was looking for someone to give it a haircut and I wanted change, perhaps to be blonde. I entered shimon'e salon to ask his oppinion. He sat me down in 10 minutes, even though he was busy and closing, took my hair and said, you need a haircut, dont even think about changing the color now its too dry. I went back, he took his time, knew what he was doing gave it form and I am really happy with it! and I'm treating my hair so I can color it the proper way without damage.

I got the best haircut I've ever had in my life from Sou. She is incredibly talented and intuitive. She knew exactly what I wanted and created a style that suited my lifestyle. She does a great job with Asian hair which can be really tricky for most stylists. Even before she was finished cutting my hair it already looked great! I highly recommend her to anyone and I'll definitely be going back regularly to her from now on.

I moved to Boston a few months ago from New York City, where I regularly spent +$100 for a haircut, so perhaps my perspective is skewed, but I had the best haircut I've had in years last night from Shimon and just had to write about it. He knew exactly what to do with my wavy-in-back, straight-in-front hair type and was creative about creating a layered look for me that was not an extreme departure from my normal preferences. Everyone at the salon was very pleasant - no snobs here! - and the setting was relaxed and comfortable. Shimon is a true professional. I will definitely go back and am happy to have found a place in Boston that I feel I can rely on.

I went to Shimon Salon for the first time to get a haircut. I didnt want to spend too much money, since Im a college student, but I didnt want to sacrifice the quality of it either. My stylist name is Marna and I cant tell you how professional and pleasant she is! Not only did she take her time but you can tell she loves what shes doing! Shes a true artist! Even better is her price range, VERY AFFORDABLE! You cant beat that anywhere these days, especially on Newbury St!

Julie is the best hairdresser I have ever used. I have been in Boston for a couple years now, and I have fluttered from one hairstylist to the next because I just kept finding mediocre stylist and mediocre cuts and the other salons I had tried. Julie took the time to listen to my needs and desires for my hair and really worked magic. Words cannot express how great my color came out. I really did have complete strangers asking me where I got my hair done! I highly recommend Julie and the entire Shimon experience!

Last week I went to salon shimon, and I met very nice and talented young hair dresser, by the name of Sue. She had a warm personality, and she delivered such great service. I'm very difficult person to please especialy when it comes to my hair style. However Sue she did such an Exquisite hair style. I got a lot compliments from my coworkers, and even people that i don't talk to.

I went to shimon solan and i was highly impress with the quality of service that was delivered by a etremely nice and talented individual by the name of Sue.The hair style and cut was fabulous and i was showered with compliment from family and friends.Everyone wanted to know where i got my hair done and i gave them the address of the solon and sue's name.The funny thing is im usually sceptical of who i let do my hair and Sue made me feel so comfortable exp-laining what i wanted done and then doing it.It was a experience i will never forget and now im a die heart customer.Thanks liz

Overall great salon - I go to Julie for cut and color and she is fantastic. She also takes the time to explain to you what she is going and how to maintain hair between appts. For manicures Maria is very good. Honestly the longest lasting and best looking manicures I have ever gotten.

I went to Shimon Salon and saw Julie for my color. I live at the Ritz and wanted somewhere closer to try and Im also sick of the Newbury St. salons. I cant emphasizes enough how thrilled I left. The service was warm and inviting. Julie listened to my needs but even better, the highlights came out natural, shiny, and vibrant. Julie took her time and explained how I can replicate the same style at home. Ive tried stylist who rushed me but also NEVER explain to me how I can achieve the same style at home. Julies price range is reasonable and worth it! I cant emphasize enough how lucky I am that I found her but also I dont have to dread going to Newbury St anymore!

Shimon salon came very highly recommended to me by a good friend. He
is probaly there once a week. I went to Stacy, for a cut and color, and my hair has never looked this great. I only had it done yesterday, and my husband actually noticed. My co-workers have not stopped complimenting me. If i wasn't moving out of town, i would be a loyal customer. who knows i may make special hair trips. Give her a try, you won't be dissapointed!

Decided to try a new salon and it was worth the risk! Shimon cut my hair and he gave a good consultation and fabulous cut. If you can handle his aggressive hair cutting style you're come out with a great cut. The service was great and atmosphere is very pleasant. Both Shimon and another stylist there are from LA Sports Club at the Ritz so you can imagine the clientale they use to have. It's great that he started his own salon. Will definitely see him again! And the price is decent for a senior stylist.

I have been to Shimon Salon twice since it opened and I fell in love with it immediately! I go to Shimon, the owner, for a highlight and cut and Pisey for manicures and pedicures. Each time I have been in, I have been pampered from the minute I walked in. I am very particular about choosing a stylist and am extremely satisfied with Shimon. He does an amazing job with my highlights and cut. I am constantly asked where I get my hair done. He truly listens to what I am looking for and always gets it perfect! I am a loyal customer of this salon!

I went to Shimon for the first time for a color and a style. I received exceptional quality and service. The owner Shimon is talented and a visionary. The minute I left the salon I received compliments from complete strangers. I would recommend this experience to anyone whos serious about their hair!
