Pros: awesome Thai and the price is right

Cons: NONE

This place is great. Its reasonably priced, in fact the wine is downright cheap, and there are some great quirky reasons for eating at the restaurant (some dishes come with "fire") anddelivery is good too! fast.. fast

I was looking for good Thai. I tried delivery from Beet Thai. It's not the most authentic Thai food I've ever had. But you can tell that care is taken and the quality of ingredients is high. The veggies are fresh and the meat is good. Not bad at these prices. I love their Curry Puff and Spicy Broad Noodle. Now I orderd from them twice a week.

Beet is a decent thai restaurant. We order from it all the time, usually the Currry Puffs and the Pad See Yu.

That is, until last night...

Inside of the Curry Puff I found a piece of twisted metal, like an inch-long section of wire. It was in my mouth and, fortunately, I felt it before I swallowed. Otherwise, it would have been not only disgusting, but also dangerous.

It goes without saying i won't order from that place again.

Checked out Beet for the first time and was truly impressed. The spicy broad noodles is so good and the portions are quite large. It's also reasonably priced for the quality and taste.

Honestly, I think Beet Thai has the tastiest and most well prepared food among other thai places in Park Slope. With all those little decent decorations in each plate, I'm very impressed. I suppose uncooked and overcooked food happen in every restaurant, but we just have to give them a chance to make it right, especially in such a good quality thai restaurant. Overall, I believe they have fair prices with delicious food. They deserve better! =)

My friend and I were really excited to try Beet for lunch after reading the reviews. Since it was bitter cold outside, I decided to start my meal with the shrimp dumpling soup. When it arrived, it looked very appetizing. I took a spoonful of broth..yum! I took a spoonful of broth and dumpling.....The shrimp was still frozen in the center!!! Totally inexcusable. The Chicken Rama arrives and it was presented nicely, so I was hoping this would redeem the terrible soup.. I took a bite of chicken in the peanut sauce and was not very happy. The sauce had a weird sort of sweetness to it that I couldn't really place. Overall, the Rama was alright, but I have certainly had better Thai food else where. My friend got the Thai Garlic Chicken (which looked identical to the Rama, except different sauce) which she said was good, but again, nothing worth going back for. My half of the meal came to $14 after tip...a bit too much for such a mediocre meal.

Pros: Convenient location to train, cute decor

Cons: over priced, dumplings were FROZEN, every time the door opened the place got really cold.

Great, imaginative Asian food. I have never had a bad meal here and we eat here a lot. No kids menu but they love the rice and calamari. The cocktails are even better too. The decor and atmosphere make this a great place to come....

When Beet opened many people told me they liked it better than Rice. I think their food is very good and the menu offers good choices at very reasonable prices. I've had problems with their deliveries. As far as the staff, I'm the type that doesn't mind being left alone, so they're OK with me.

Ordered in from Beets in Park Slope last night. First and last time, sorry. My wife ordered the "Thai Garlic" Red Snapper, I the Massaman Curry. The food arrived just under 1 hour. The Thai Garlic was supposed to come with broccoli, carrots and scallions. Well, all there was was a small piece of fish (maybe 3 ounces), plus brocooli. No carrots, no scallions, nothing. We called them, and they were completely nonchalant about it. Not in so many words, but essentially they said "Yes, and what' s your point?". Eventually they did agree to deliver some more vegetables, which arrived after another 30 minutes (of course we have finished by then, we were starving already when the food arrived).

The food itself was ok, not bad, but nothing special (both the snapper and the curry).

We'll have to try another Thai.

Pretty good Thai food, some interesting dishes. The service is a bit strange, sometimes they seem uninterested. Nice decor. As another reviewer said, there is probably better Thai food around, this just happens to be close by.

I eat here often because I love Thai food and it is very near my apartment. I think there is better Thai food in the neighborhood, but this is pretty decent. They are open for lunch also.

My husband and I were strolling past BEET and we decided to stop in for an afternoon cocktail. I am soooo glad I did. I had the Passion Vodka cocktail, which has grey goose vodka, apple juice, passion fruit, gingerale and something else. What was so cute was the little oragami rose at the tip of my straw. I wish I could upload the picture. The best by far was the GOLDEN PUFFS and the dumplings. I had 2 orders by myself. I almost didn't let my husband have any dumplings. :)

I would recommend this place for it's appetizers and drinks. I plan on going back again this weekend to have more appetizers and a main course. If you are in Park Slope and walking on 7th avenue, stop in and have the $4 Golden puffs. You will not be disappointed. Trust me!!!

Cons: None!!

This is one of my favorite places because it is so easy. When I have eaten there or had it delivered the food always comes out in a timely manner and there are always tons of choices to choose from. I love their Mango Avocado Salad. You can also upgrade to brown rice on any dish. They also have vegitarian "duck". When they deliver the food it come in nice plactic containers, which keep the food in one piece by the time it arrives to your house. The decor is cute and they serve drinks. A great place to take friends or family if you are on a budget. I always have left overs on the rice dishes I order and eat them the next day. i read in all the reviews about "beet chips" that you are supposed to get as an appetizer but I have NEVER gotten them, seen anyone else in the restaurant eat them or saw them on the menu to order. But over all GREAT!!!

I chose Beet just based on what it looked like from the sidewalk. I really liked it because of their tofu selection. The peanut sauce was to die for, and I consider myself a peanut sauce expert...most restaurants never give you enough sauce, and Beet was no different. However, when I asked for more sauce they brought a lot and didn't charge me for it...It was fantastic! Overall, this place is some good food, good price, and good decor. They don't serve beets at the table anymore like their website suggests...but whatever!

Pros: delicious food

Cons: no, i don't think so

I love the decor at Beet but the food is only average. The prices are only slightly higher than Thai Rice up the street and the food isn't as good. Beet's probably a better spot to take a date and linger over a meal, but if you're just looking for yummy Thai cuisine, Thai Rice is the way to go.

Awesome decor w/ nice lighten; delicious food ever. Beet Thai is definitely the place where I would recommand my friends to. I've been their regular customer since this place opened. They provide the best service to their customers with the yummy and excellent food. By the way, they've got the coolest water sink in their restroom. If you are not sure which restaurant has the best thai food, I suggest you to Beet Thai; fair price!

OK, so it was decorated by somebody with an ikea charge card, but thats ok. It was a very nice atmosphere, upbeat, not dark and gloomy like so many places are nowadays. Started with the fish cakes appetizer, it was a little tough, but not bad. Moved on to the curry chicken...boy was that good! Perfect amount of spice, and the curry was fantastic. For desert, i had the fried bananas, which were ok, and the key lime pie iced cream, which was really good. This place is a great value, even had a couple of drinks from the bar, which were insanely inexpensive, but not supurb. I would definetely be going back here.

We went to this restaurant since it always seems full and got good reviews. Boy were we disappointed! We waited for 30 minutes after being seated to have our order taken, and that was after we asked that someone take our order! Then we had to remind the waitress about our drinks, neither of which were very complicated. The food was extremely bland and somewhat cold. Don't waste your time or money here.

We have eaten here dozens and dozens of times (we used to live right around the corner, but still make the trip to eat there!) Their food is outstanding and I have never had a bad meal there. I don't know when everyone else went who said that they could not get seated, but I have never had a problem being seated there.... and have sometimes been the only customer in the restaurant. They have also been very nice about us bringing our baby with us.

Beet is great. Mango and Avocado salad is tasteful. I love live Jazz music especially Beat at Beet every other Saturday. Nice ambience. They offer the good food under $17.00. (Cheap food but good quality). Freindly service. Their special menu made Beet dominat from the other Thai restaurants in Slope.

Tiny space, too RED for the size. The guy in the corner is screaming loudly in a ear to the sound of guitar. Food is not tasty at all. Famous in reviews Mango/Avocado salad is just pieces of mango with one small piece of avocado on the top. Pad Thai was too moist for my taste (sleezy) Fish was overfried. Nothing exciting overall...

Beet Thai is the best place to be. I've heard about this restaurant from a friend of mine; with good food along the best service. Therefore, I went there last weekend with a group of friends. I could tell they have the best thai food in Park Slope, espeacially the lobster dish I had was so tasty and YUMMY! They have good prices though. Besides they provide good customers' satisfaction. There are "DJ's" and "Live Music" during weekends. I sure will visit again.

We had the pad thai which was a little slimey. The vegetable dumplings were good, but the spicy chicken was kind of bland. The service was very good, however.

Never know this restaurant before, then I just got the mailed menu for delivery. It looked pretty interesting. I ordered soft-shell crab with royal spice sauce, wow crabs size is so big. I couldn't believe they use this size for low price, the flavor is also great. Their delivery time was just 20 minutes.

First time I went, I just tried the basic Thai dish, green curry, wow it was the best green curry I ever had. Second time I tried off course Pad Thai off the lunch menu, it started to convince me this might be the best Thai place on 7th. Third time I thaught I should give it a try the unusual dish in Thai place, the Soft Shell crab in Thai herb sauce, I just found my new favourite dish, and totally convinced me the fav. Thai place. I definitely will come back for this dish and try out the new dishes.

Decided to go there for lunch. no one else was there. we ordered (we thought) off the lunch menu. i had the panang, which was excellent. my friend had the crab, which was fishy tasting. and then we got the bill, we saw that they overcharged us (the crab was $15 instead of $8 as listed on the menu). we told the waitress about the discrepancy. apparently we did not get the items from the lunch menu, but from the dinner menu. they charged us the lunch menu price, but only after telling us that it is up to the customer to indicate from what menu you're ordering! frankly, that's her job as a waitress. and if people come in at lunchtime and order something that's on both the lunch and dinner menu, she should have asked for clarification.

I was impressed by its ambience (maybe a little too red, but still nice) and eclectic menu. I, unfortunately, had to put my coat back on and step out into the rain after ordering to be able to go to the bodega across the street to buy beer to accompany my meal. I ordered the mango and avocado salad which was a slice of an already darkening avocado on top of strips of mango. I had the tuna with butter garlic sauce on a bed of steamed vegetables. I enjoyed the entree but regretably my stomach didn't.. it did everything in its power to purge the meal... Dessert options were kept to a basic minimum to quicken my departure, I presume, as they were closing the books for the night in front of me and ready to call it a night. It was not even 10:30pm.

I've been there many times. I love the lemongrass beef appetizer, which was wonderful, and I got the Miso Glazed Sea Bass, which was really good, and HUGE! The othertime, I got the Fresh Salad Roll, which came with this really great ground peanut vinaigrette. and then the chicken with chili basil spice which was lovely and really spicy. My friend got the honey glazed duck, which she loved. The portions are extremely generous. And it's BYOB at the moment, which is really nice.

I've had the potato-corn croquettes, very fresh and good. The panang curry is awsome their portion is generous. And they are willing to do both veggies and tofu for us, even though the menu specifies one or the other. Their spicy basil sauce is very fantastic I've heard great things about their Jumbo shrimp and Scallop with brown butter sauce.

It is on 7th Ave. between 9th and 8th.

We arrived to a line of people waiting. We put our names on the reservation list. After watching numerous couples get seated, and we were the last couple, we were ready for our table as a table opened up. But a group of 3 women arrived and were seated at the free table. When we confronted the hostess, she told us that there were 3 of them and only 2 of us, and that the 3 women had a reservation at 8:30pm. It was 9:30pm. When we complained, she just shrugged her shoulders and said sorry. I won't eat there based on their bad managing skills. Good staff know how to manage a steady stream of customers, not to turn away people.

I have been anxiously awaiting the opening of this restaurant for weeks, and have to say it was well worth the wait! The food was delicious, and in my opinion, very reasonably priced. I do reccomend arriving early to avoid the dinner rush, as there is limited seating and it seems to fill up pretty fast after 7pm. I love that it is BYOB, there arent enough of these restaurants in the city. Overall I urge the locals to give it a try, definately a step above rice thai.
