Great Adventure

My friends and I get season passes here every summer and go just for the roller coasters. If you get here early in the morning you can usually beat a lot of the crowds, and the lines don't get ridiculously long until around noon. If you have a season pass, it's definitely worth coming.

While 6 Flags does have an incredible amount of rides, it costs about fifty dollars for a single ticket, not including parking or food. A drink there will easily cost you three dollars, with one slice of pizza and a small drink (with no lid, might I add) coming to seven dollars (thank Papa Johns).
Their main staple of coaster, Kingdaka, frequently breaks down; it broke down three times while I was in line. For a ride that lasts 5 seconds, the three+ hour lines and frequent break downs really drags it down.
The new ride, "The Dark Knight" was a complete waste of time and money. The entire ride is going around in a zigzag.
Save your money and go ANYWHERE else. Only go here if you plan on doing it once or twice a year; it's really not worth it anymore.

Great Adventure is a great theme park for those in the metropolitan area. Not quite Disney world, but there are a lot of rides and events to plan a whole day around.

Great Adventure is a fun day trip. It is very expensive if you do not have a season pass, and the food and drinks are also very pricey. They do boast a ton of incredible roller coasters, and they do have a lot of really great kiddie rides. They also have Hurricane Harbor which is a lot of fun on a hot day in the summer, but that is also separate admission. They Wild Safari is also fun to drive through, it has a huge variety of exotic animals. Overall, I really do enjoy Great Adventure, and it is certainly something your kids would enjoy.
