Reviews for Trader Joe's Wine Shop

Ratings_icons love the new trader joe's in brooklyn heights!

Carrie s.

At first when they built the new Trader Joe's, literally across the street from me (Court and Atlantic), I thought, what's all the hype? I thought it would be a madhouse, with long lines and little advantage to hitting the key food around the corner. the lines *are* long, but they move quickly; and the savings can't be beat. I stood there with reverse-sticker shock the first time I bought everything on my Thanksgiving list, and the total was half of what I would have paid elsewhere. Only wish that they wouldn't have the lines snake in front of the dairy aisle, making it tricky to buy milk, and that they'd start a more comprehensive spice department. I've had to search elsewhere for bay leaves and cumin.

It is a very great bargain and much needed in this overpriced city. My only regret is that the store is not convenient to anyone living on the Upper West Side or in Harlem, or Washington Heights. It would be very much appreciated if the chain opened stores in these areas that would give the tired old Associated Market a reason to disappear.

Ratings_icons Trader Joes in NYC, thank goodness!!

Anonymous

I've been out in LA for the last few months and Trader Joe's is a mainstay. I googled Trader Joe's to see if and where one was located in Manhattan. I can't imagine living without it now. Unbeatable prices, fantastic selection of a huge variety of foods. New interesting products show up often making for fun new discoveries. It's always an adventure walking through the isles, like exploring new foreign lands. Whole Foods is great, but ridiculously expensive! More Trader Joe's stores need to open for easy access to all Manhattanites. Please, please open one on the upper west side!
A Huge Fan

Ratings_icons Better than Whole Foods!

Justin C.

This is now becoming a New York institution right in the heart of Union Square! Just past the Walgreens before hitting 3rd Ave, you will find a most interesting market with food from all over the world and organic as well with the best prices possible in all of Manhattan!! All their food items are packaged under the Trader Joe's name, yet comes from many different countries. For you coffee lovers, I recommend the Volcano coffee (12 oz.) from the slopes of Guatemala Agua volcano...super dark and strong at only $5.99. Bags of shrimp from small to jumbo size for under $10. The Peruvian Chimichurri rice is excellent! Italian, Mexican, Thai, Chinese and also lots of desserts, produce, cheese and a nice selection of flowers to boot! Go check out this place and you will like it better than W'Foods....
