My daughter has been at Lane Montessori in Ardmore for over a year now and she absolutely LOVES it. She comes home excited everyday to share what she has learned such as talking spanish sign language, music and instruments, about space, the human body and so much more. This school is definitely a great investment.

I have had my two children enrolled in Lane for the past year and I am very happy with the program. It is very competitive to get into and we were wait-listed for a period. One of our children has a minor medical condition that made potty-training a challenge, and the school and its teachers worked with us to ensure it did not hinder our child's advancement into the montessori room. Caring teachers, beautiful facilites and diversity!!

Sent my daughter here for 1 year and decided to go w/ a less expensive school nearby. The result was she was behind her peers. I had to enroll her in a reading and math enrichment program and she has now caught up.
I started my son there a year ago and he is very happy and so am I! He will stay at Lane through kindergarten. It is academically superior and loving. Many of the staff whom never had my son call him by name and still know my daughters name after 4 years of her not attending the school. The teachers are always smiling and yes they are happy. To assume they are not, is exactly that, an assumption. Go see it for yourself.

If you care about your children and want them to be in a warm, loving and fulfilling environment, do not send your children to Lane. If you care only about finding inexpensive day care and could care less about the way your child spends his or her day, this is the place for you. The only thing the management cares about at this school is collecting your check. The kids are least important. It's a revolving door of teachers - as no one is happy there and the ones who stay are not nice to the children. It calls itself a "Montessori" school, but there is nothing Montessori in the philosophy of the school, nor in the activities for, or toys used by, the children. Do not be fooled by the new building. There is nothing warm or loving about the teachers, staff or administration at this school. Despite calling itself "Montessori", it is nothing but a cheap day care center.

I will never recommend this school to anyone. My son was in one of the preschool classrooms and his teacher was extremely strict and unfriendly. she would get mad at the kids if they were talking. she would always use time out as a punishement. i was not happy with the management on how they handled issues. if you are looking for a caring and nurturing place for your kids this is not the school you should go to.

My husband and I started our child at 18 months. She graduated this week from kindergarten. I can say with full confidence that this is the best investment we've ever made. She recently took a placement test with a child psychologist and she's on par with kids older than she is academically and socially.

We have recommended Lane to several close friends who have been absolutely pleased with the school. The staff members are warm, caring and consummate professionals, the environment is ideal for learning and safety of the kids. You simply can't go wrong with Lane.

The teachers are OK to the kids, but I just do not understand the teachers usually pained or made some project without the kid involved. The kids play something by themselves, and the teachers played the project and hung in the room. My do not think they provide more options for kids to do something through their hands. The kids look boring, Why do not provide more activities to them even just simple papers and pens, some blocks. So they can use their imagination to express themselves.

My husband and I enrolled our child in Lane for his pre-Kindergarten year when he was about four and a half years old. Prior to attending Lane, he had attended another local Montessori pre-school for one school year. During that time, he learned how to paint and draw and was (to our knowledge) rarely encouraged by teachers to make other work choices. Very early on at Lane, our son's pre-school teacher requested his progress report from the previous Montessori so that she could validate her early impressions of our son. She quickly provided feedback to us, and took a proactive approach to helping our son tap into his abilities by choosing challenging activities. Our son tends to gravitate to comfortable, enjoyable activities rather than looking for new and challenging learning opportunities. Because his teacher was persistent, yet warm and encouraging, our son made tremendous progress while at Lane in her classroom. After having visited several kindergardens, I learnerd that my son's educational level is much higher than basic kindergarten as a result of having been at Lane. Although the school year has ended, my son still speaks about his teacher fondly, and is constantly creating artwork to bring in to her. Our experience with Lane, and especially his pre-school teacher, was excellent.

My son has attended Lane for the past 4 years and I am lucky to say that he absolutely loves school. He has loved each teacher that he has gotten and now that he is in kindergarten he is truly ready for first grade. The staff at Lane has been overwhelmingly kind to him and us as a family. I do wish that they had an Open House but I have had conversations regarding that with administration. I hope that an Open House is something that they will consider in the future. I continue to recommend this school to friends but I make it clear to them that it is a stricter school that is very academically oriented. For those who are contemplating sending their child to Lane I would recommend researching the Montessori Method. It is not for every child. As a family we feel fortunate to have met so many wonderful friends at Lane and we can't wait to meet more as we continue on this journey with my daughter who will begin Lane in the fall.

Our family had three children enrolled as students at Lane - from 3 years of age through Kindergarten. They each attended for four years. Our children flourished and had very positive experiences. The teachers are approachable, dedicated, knowledgeable, and talented. Our children looked forward to attending school, and left with a very positive attitude toward learning. We also made life-long friendships with the families. Our children always ask to stop and visit their teachers at Lane, whom they recall with many fond memories. I have recommended many families to Lane, and they have all thanked me, for they too were and are very happy there.

I had two children go through Lane Montessori -- one in the toddler class and one in the preschool class. Both of them loved it and did great there. Sure they were allowed to do pick some of their favorite 'fun' choices, but they also were encourage to (and did) do other activities. They learned a ton and their verbal, nonverbal, and social skills developed tremendously. The teachers were always very kind and available to talk about the relative strengths and weaknesses of my kids (which I took advantage of on nearly a daily basis), and there are two more formal parent teacher conferences during the academic year. Overall, I give Lane a thumbs up!
