You cant tell a book by its cover, so they say. I have read the good reviews so finally I was willing to try this salon .... For , my experience it was not so great unfortunatly , Lucero worked really hard on my hair , I have to give her credit for trying but she seemed distracted, and not confident. I certainly would come back because the place is near me but, definitely with someone else. No offense cause I do have difficult curly hair, and in the summer it frizz allot , I should have been told by Lucero from the very beginning , that she cant handle my hair.I would have understand????

It's been almost a year now that I've been getting my color and cut done with Lucero. I'm so happy a very good friend of mine referred me to her. I originally started seeing her at Salon Balayage, a fancy, high-end salon in Dupont. She recently switched over to Tresses Salon, a small, boutique salon in the World Bank. The staff at her new salon goes above and beyond to make you comfortable and make you feel beautiful... warm and friendly service every time I've visited.

Let's get down to business and talk hair... Lucero is amazing with curly hair. I sought her out specifically because not everyone can cut curly hair well... Lucero certainly does and she's an expert. She's a true testament to being experimental with color. She's an artist, truly. I love how she's done my color and highlights. She's got a great eye for complementing colors to skin tones. She makes great suggestions and always knows how to convey what I'm looking for with hair. She's amazing. She's hip, warm, informative, realistic about clients' expectations, and I've always walked away from my appointments/services feeling like a million bucks! I LOVE LOVE LOOOOVE her!

My co-worker who is a regular client highly recommended this salon to other fellow co-workers and me. My first appointment included a deep-conditioning treatment and blowout. With my budget, I was iffy about having my hair blown out in DC; however, I considered it an early birthday gift to myself! Lucero fixed my hair exactly how I wanted it - volume and shine. She even demonstrated how I can maintain the hair-do over the next few days. The products used on my hair are amazing. The hairspray does not flake nor become greasy. Furthermore, Lucero informed me of when and how to shampoo, condition and style my hair. She also recommended a frizz-eliminator serum to use at home to keep my hair tamed during the summer (which I ended up buying).

The blow out was $30, the treatment was $15, and the Aquage serum was $13.99. Bottom line, I will be coming be back to Lucero at least once a month to pamper my hair.

I was happy the first time I went to Tresses Salon but this time it was a very unfortunate experience. I waited almost 40 min at the waiting area. I was already late to work. I was so uptight because it was my lunch hour and i had only 1 hour to spare. My stylist was really not professional and rude, it seemed that she was not organized because apparently she mixed up my appointment , with someone else. Mistakes happen , but my stylist could at least apologize for the miss understanding.. I came for a simple hi light and color. My hair came out way too dark and she told me it will wash out gradually. Well i am furious about the result i have been waiting for 2 weeks now so it will turn lighter after the toner Lucero added to my hair, and now again i have roots showing!!! I thought about coming back for a refund since the color was not what I expected, but Lucero told me its too late!!! Now i have to go to my best friends wedding with dark roots..All this waste of time and money for nothing !! I am very unsatisfied! I actually ended up going somewhere else to fix my hair!

100 percent fantastic place! This salon in Dc is small but very clean, and now they carry new products to try. I have been going to Tresses for years and i never had a problem with there prices on Mondays, the stylist there are true artists and professional, that to me is what REALLY MATTERS! I Personally would rather pay for a 30 dollar chic cut and be satisfied rather then pay 85 dollars for a chop job, Its nice that this salon is giving students a budget break on Mondays,At least i am a person that appriciate the little things in life!

Tresses is fantastic and Ricardo is amazing. I have been thrilled with the result every time and always have people stop me to ask where I get my hair done...even complete strangers! Ricardo always makes sure I am happy and puts a lot of thought and time into my hair. I would never go anywhere else!

Tresses Salon is great, and I recommend it to all of my friends! Ricardo and his team have done my hair for over 4 years, and they always makes sure I'm happy when I leave! The salon has a nice, relaxing atmosphere, and they never try to push products or services you don't need. I get compliments on my hair all the time, and I send everyone who asks to Tresses for the same great cuts and color!! Tresses is top notch!

I went in to get a $30 haircut and ended up being charged $50.

They advertise $30 haircuts, $25 with student ID, and $20 on Mondays. I needed to trim my short hair and $30 is the usual range I pay and so chose to go there since it was just next to where I work.

Mary, trimmed my hair, nothing fancy, a simple basic trim that every normal hairdresser can do. Then she blow dried my hair and that is it.

It turned out the haircut was $30 and the blow dry (yes, simple blow dry) was $20 more. I think it is ridiculous, a blow dry is always part of a $30 haircut unless they want to sent me out with wet hair, even if they charge for it, it can not be $20 and even much worse, if your salon specializes in $20 blow dries why don't you ask me : do you want a $20 blow dry?

Ask them specifically about prices of their services if you go there. Also Mary did not spend much time coming up with an imaginative idea for my hair and simply did the simplest trim possible. So I can not really judge her styling abilities.

By the way, in their website they advertise "Every shampoo and haircut service includes a head and neck massage by our professionally trained staff ", Flat out lie. There was not even a mention of a message when I was there.
