I opened my window blinds in my hotel room and the bright bright Easter sun streamed in. I wasn't sure I would make it church because all I wanted to do that minute was exercise. On my way back, a well-dressed pleasant man with his family greated me with unusual pep - particularly that early in the morning. I wondered where he was going and noticed the church across the street. I realised that moment that I want ed to worship there before I caught my train back to DC a few hours later. I had 40 minutes to get ready for church . Boy, was I glad I went! What beautiful, joyful, Christ-filled christians. Church isn't what it used to be when I was growing up. I will visit again while in Philly.

You have to climb quite a few steps to get to the sanctuary, but once you are there, you will be glad you came.
You have a chance to worship in an animated way, and once they know you, to participate. They have an open pulpit, which is highly unusual, but actually rather Biblical. Different people can share prophecies, scriptures, testimoneies, and exhortations.

Some worship is in Spanish, so brush up on yours for an optimal experience. The teaching times can be quite engaging. As different ministers preacher different weeks, the level of polish differs markedly.

This church really does try to put its money where its mouth is, and obviously cares for the poor and disenfranchised.
