Let's all be realistic that "Devastated" has made it their personal crusade to blacken the image of the Well Pet Clinic, you just have to google the clinic to see that. The fact is that this clinic does hundreds of surgeries on a low cost basis and that 99.9 % of them do extremely well. As someone who works in the veterinary field I have seen anesthetic deaths, they are unfortunate but sometimes not preventable. Xylazine is used by many small animal practitioners safely every day; "Devastated" is showing their ignorance of veterinary medicine and drug protocols here. Dr O is no longer at this practice, the new vet Dr Quigley took care of my animals previously at Coolridge Animal Hospital and I think she's a great doctor. She makes good medicine affordable and really cares about the animals.

As an experienced animal rescuer w/ a medical background, I have brought many personal pets & rescue fosters to Waldorf Well Pet... the experience has ALWAYS been awesome. Even my German Shepard foster with an infected "boggie" uterus came through a tough spay with flying colors & is doing great thanks to the WWPC vets. ___ Unlike a lot of places, WWP is not money hungry & the prices are very reasonable... $10 for office visit! Plus, the only "extras" even mentioned was flea/tick prevention & heartworm meds... & unlike most vets these were NOT pushed, but simply mentioned as available. __ I find it really tragic the reviewer "devastated" lost their pet, but anesthesia risk are present in any vet office, using any anesthesia drug. That's why vets usually recommend bloodwork & poss other tests before surgery. Some will waive these if the owner is insistent... some will not do surgery on older or ill dogs if the risk is too great. this risk-benefit decision is true of all anesthesia drugs, not just Xylazine.

Compared to most other vets: the price is lower, but by the time they add-on extra 'pushed', unnecessary procedures like a sneaky car mechanic does: you still end up paying in the hundreds & up. The vet that the other rater accused of killing her dog (Dr.O) was my cats' vet & he definitely seemed spaced-out & mentally-slow when I went there. I didn't feel confident w/his knowledge at all. The staff is not polite or knowledgeable & do not know how to handle a high-stress environment in an orderly, conductive fashion for the clients. I honestly only go here for the prices with times being as hard as they are & vets committing highway robbery everywhere with their prices, its sad that we are forced to put our loved ones' lives on the line while trying to extend or save their lives. All I can recommend is: I'd be wary of the spays/neuters there after what the other rater said @ her dog & be wary of any other meds they use b4 taking your pet there.

I think that the vets and the staff here are all world class. They do this out of love for the animals and caring for those who love their pets. They are reasonable priced and will work with people who want to do the best by their pets. I have been taking my two dogs and three cats there for years and am very happy with the level of care.

I have taken numerous rescue animals and my personal pets to this clinic. The staff and vets are caring and professional. They spayed/neutered, altogether, 17 cats for me and our rescue group on four separate occasions. They also did surgery on 1 kitty with a hernia and treated 2 of our kitties for ringworm.

Words cannot express how wonderful this clinic and veterinary staff are for pet lovers. I am so grateful for the caring staff at Waldorf Well Pet. This clinic is wonderful, caring , deeply knowledgeable and tremendously valuable for all pet owners.

My beloved dog died here. I took him here for a neuter surgery that never occurred and he died suddenly. The medical records showed the wrong color of dog . I was never told that last chance rescue, inc owned and operated this clinic. Dr Edward Owoeye stated that they used Xylazine because it is cheap. He also stated that he does not do exams on animals. The drug Xylazine in the drug manufacturer's FDA report stated not recommended for cats and dogs, yet it was used anyway. I was also charged anyway. I do not recommend this clinic to anyone that cares about their pet. I will never get to hold my dog ever again.

I have taken many animals to this facility and have never had a negative experience. The price is right, the staff is courteous and obviously love animals, and the facility is very clean, which is important.

I would recommend this facility to anyone in need of a great vet!

My Pup has a growth on his chest, he is about 8 years old. The vet was very concerned and explained the options. If you do a needle biopsy there is a chance of disrupting the growth. If it is cancerous than it can spread. If it is surgically removed the lab report can tell if it is cancerous as well if they got it all. I choose the most expensive option since I had everything completely explained. I felt very comfortable with the vet and the help there. It is nice to feel like they take the time to expain the options as well as the cost.

We got our Bichon/Shih-Tzu puppy spayed there in the summer of 2007. They were very caring and explained everything we needed to know before the surgery and also for going home and what to expect. And the price is about 10% of the SPCA - no kidding.
Also, just this morning I called to see if they could fax me a copy of her spay certificate - in about 5 minutes it was done. I'm very impressed and will certainly be going to them in the future.

The staff there seem very helpful and concerned. I appreciate the advice and the Vet did try to save us some money by offering the less expensive treatment first after fully explaining it to us. We appreciated the options presented!
