Stover's is nothing but helpful and honest with all dealing with there customers. They make you sign a ton of paperwork, that describes grades, waste percentage and do to dye lot they do not take tile back. All customers are asked to sign this paperwork! The only ones who tend to have a problem with this are the ones who DON'T READ WHAT THERE SIGNING, not smart signing something you didn't read. I also bought a GRADE 3 TILE, had some waste (obviously) I paid .79sf, 75-80% of the tile I purchased had white etch marks, which anyone who knows anything about tile will tell you is to prevent tile from sticking together while it's boxed and in most cases comes off when grouting.

I've done business with Stover's for years and they've always been straight forward and honest. Anytime I've had a problem with tile (it's only when I'm being a cheap-skate and buying cheap stuff) they have always offered to upgrade my tile. As for the other review, find a class 5, through color-bodied Porcelain tile for .79sf, it aint happening, and if your comparing that to a class 2 ceramic from Lowes, there is no comparison, (Rialto is the only class 5 they sell and it's over $3 per foot) as any TRUE FLOORING STORE will tell you. Compare apples to apples people. Stover's has the best Selection, Customer service, and Prices within 200 miles of Knoxville, TN. YOU NEED FLOORING STOVER'S IS THE PLACE.

We went to Lowe's first to look at tile and thought we had a great design picked out for .79 per sq ft. We are on a strict budget so the clearance price was important.
I just wasnt very happy with the color.
I went to Stover's to take a look at what they had. In there show room they gave a nice presentation. I found a tile I really liked at the same price.
Got it home, While the top peices in the boxes were good the rest were bad. My tile guy had to toss a lot of it.
We went back to Stovers to get more and got it home and it too was scrap tile.
I went back to Stover's to get more tile. We waited as they scoured thru mounds of scrap tile that no one can even use until they found enough to fill the order.
I was told they had 500sq feet coming in and that they would have it if something happend and we needed more.
Of course we get home and most of our peices are trash. My tile guy, who is so great and our only right decision in this mess, told us that he was going to be short 45 peices.
My husband was furious at this point and called Stover's and the Manager told him to bring it up there and he would work with us.
So I took it there and talked to the Manager. His response was that "he said he would look at it not that he would work with us."
He went outside and looked at the tile and told me that grid marks and large white spots were "normal" on tile,, which I'm not STUPID and I know different.
He then continued to tell me that it was expected to have a 30% waste because the tile that I picked out was a grade3 tile and not good tile (which no one told me upon purchasing, when I picked the tile out it was professionally displayed on a rack in the showrooom). Our waste was at about 40% at this point anyway.
I told him I only needed 45 pcs and wanted to pick thru to make sure that I got good pcs. He refused and said that I could't pick out the peices and that they only had 4 boxes left. Again,,, I'm not stupid.
I agreed and went around to pick up the 4 boxes then asked if they had more, the guy told me they had over half a pallet.. so the manager blatantly lied to me in order to keep me from picking out my peices and to shut me up by giving me all he knew I only needed.
I then opend the first box and took the top peice off before signing anything regarding receipt and of course checked the box. EVERY PEICE in the box was bad aside from the top peice. By this time the manager had walked around and told me that He couldn't allow me to stand there and pick thru the peices that I could go thru 100 boxes and not get enough peices,,(WHICH THEY SHOULD HAVE TOLD ME BEFORE I PURCHASED!) I told him I wanted 4 more boxes since he lied to me and told me he didn't have anymore and he tried to pass the lie off to someone else.
So I have wound up with a total of 254 square feet purchased from them for a 120 square feet bathroom and still do not have enough to finish it.
My deal is,, that why wasnt I told the tile was grade3 scrap tile instead of being mislead in the showroom that I was getting a good tile for a great price? Why was I told that there would be a 10% waste then later told for grade3 it is a 30% waste? Why could I not pick out good pieces for the few tile that I needed? I will tell you.. because they are cheaters, liars and ripp offs.
They don't want you to go thru the tile because they want to sell you the bad peices to take your money.
Right now we are at a 60% waste and counting. I was not offered a refund for the tile I took back but they tried to take it back to return to stock! I was not offered free material to finish my bathroom I was only offered the opportunity to be taken advantage of again and a 2 box consolidation.
I did order my glass tile from there which was also a rip off because I found the exact same brand and style online for 30% less price.
I would give them negative stars if I could.
My question is.. why don't they sell good tile? Wouldn't that make more sense? Instead of cheating people out of money, which they know they are doing.. why don't they NOT get the grade3 tile that they know is trash so that they don't have to lie to customers about.. Can't they selll good products?
Well anyway, I would have been better off to paid more and picked a color I like at Lowe's. I would have come out actually paying less and getting a better tile and not having all of the stress and negative energy that these crooks spilt my way.
My tile guy said that he would not be doing any more jobs if the client is going to get their tile from Stovers. He said that this was the 5th or 6th time he had someone who did and everytime it was a case where they got ripped off and it was too hard for him to work with the trashed tile.
Save your money.. go to Lowe's ,Home Depot, a family owned Flooring Center, Direct Flooring, Kevco,, any where, just don't go to Stover's.
