I absolutle agree with the first reviewer- this place is a gem among Wilmington restaurants! They recently started serving lunch and have a great lunch menu! I had a shrimp po'boy and my colleague has mussels with blue cheese and bacon. How amazing does that sound? They have delicious homemade pickles with dill and garlic and the waiter was kind enough to bring us extra. Unique dishes, drinks, and (huge) wine list. I will be going back and bringing friends!

Very nice place to go after work or for a pleasant evening out with friends. Parking is nearby and the specials they run are different from most establishments.

This has become our favorite restaurant. The owners are fantastic. Very kind, but more important for a fine restaurant -- they know what they are doing. The owners know their wines and make excellent recommendations. And their menu is fun and delicious. They have a very good cheese platter as well. A great night out!

Just wanted to second the first review! We also love it since we are local and can have a terrific meal without traffic. The waitstaff is superb and knows their stuff. I also love the small plates (or petite gestures) since you can sample multiple courses without being stuffed. Their proportions are reasonable (no pound of pasta here) even for the entrees so plan on getting multiple courses. My husband and I love the cheese course and always try something new. We always ask for cheese and wine recommendations and have not been led astray yet.

Pros: food, wines by the glass including small pours (1.5 oz or 3 oz)

Cons: getting a reservation is getting tougher

Who would have thought that a little city like Wilmington, Delaware would have such a wonderful restaurant. It's a wine bar - it's a restaurant - it's a great place to relax. My wife and I consider it to be our "neighborhood secret find" and have been there several times, usually for special (some not so special) occasions. I almost did not want to give it a high rating in fear of giving it away and the place getting overcrowded.

Wine: over 250 bottles on the wine list and over 50 of them available by the glass, with a price range that would be acceptable to most wallets - depending on the occasion. Tom, the proprietor, tells me that he's against outrageous price mark-ups so that he can offer a selection to a wider range of customer. I priced a few of the bottles in a wine store and found his mark-up to be reasonable. However, I could not find all of the wines locally. I later found out that he takes pride in finding unusual wines and then having them shipped in from around the world, so his variety goes far beyond what the local distributor has available. Excellent!

Food: a nice variety on the menu that would appeal to most. Cooked and prepared to order and presented in a grand style. Everything has always been delicious. An interesting twist is that they offer each entree in a "small plate" as well - for about half the price. This is nice, especially if you are not as hungry - or would rather spend your money on the wine! I like to order surf and turf this way; it's plenty to eat and it's delicious. Superior!

Service: OUTSTANDING!! Every server, from the waiter to the busboy, treat you like you are the only customer in the place. They are all very personable and completely focused on your satisfaction. Every waiter I have ever had knows and understands the wine list (Tom "makes" them try every wine - hic!), so they are very adept at recommending a fine selection.
Overall, Domaine Hudson is a fine restaurant that I highly recommend.
