Terrible experience start to finish. We should have known this would be a bad experience when we realized there were just two other couples in an otherwise empty restaurant on a Saturday night in a hot part of NY.

1) The service is non-existent, arrogant, and can't even read the menu to describe the dishes.

2) They charged us 3 times the price posted for glasses of Malbec wine, arguing that we had ordered some 'special' wine even though we pointed out what we wanted from the menu.

3) Do not order a steak, I ordered mine medium-rare only to see it come out well-done, then the waiter stated "but the sauce, it's good, no?" and told me to eat it anyway.

4) When I asked if there could be some adjustment to the bill for both the overcharge for wine and the overcoked steak, the waiter disappeared for 23 minutes and returned with a disgusting avocado pudding and said 'here, this is good, for you.' But still stiffed me by over $125..

5) The prices are incredibly inflated and the food isn't Brazilian. A mediocre fresh mozzerella salad came with spray bottles of oil & vinegar, and literally a vine of tomatoes one would find in the produce aisle.

BEWARE BUZINA POP! It's one fraud of a place.

Pros: Loud decor you'd find a hard time matching elsewhere in NY

Cons: Horrible service, overcooked & flavorless food, Not Brazilian nor French. FRAUDULENT OVERCHARGES

First of all, I am Brazilian - just clearing that fact...
We went there on a Saturday night for a friend's birthday. The ambiance is really nice and cozy. The pros end there. What a disappointment!

The caipirinhas were so watered down they reminded me of a bland lemonade. My friends had the caipiroska and were equally annoyed.

The ?salgadinhos? or appetizer combo were passable, but very few for the price: a staggering 22 DOLLARS!

The service was ok, but the food was ridiculous. I had a duck breast plate with yam puree. The dish was COLD and the yam puree was so liquid, it seemed like a soup.

My husband had the feijoada. Good taste, but almost no meat.

In the end, the bill came (of course we had a lot of people with us), but it was a crazy $180 per couple. Almost 200 bucks for a really bland meal. Will never go back there!

There are so many better options for Brazilian here in NYC.

We felt ripped-off.

tired of the old Rodizio, tired of this old fashion spanish brazilian Circus , finally something original and creative in the decor and in the food, what a suprise it was to discover this new and trandy place, it was well recommended among brazilian people ,the food is a mix between modern Brazilian and traditional dishes "feijoada" is defenetly the best in NY,the use of fresh heart of palm is the plus to the restaurant ,they use it in few different ways its healthy and delicious try the" Pupunha Fettuccine" keep up the good work!!!!

I have to say I was quite shocked by the review below and have to disagree. I go to Buzina Pop 2-3 times a month and have not had a negative experience at all. I would hate to let this impression of Buzina Pop be uncontested as this place is charming with its Brazilian flair. I love the addition of the cannelloni with veal, beef, and foie gras esp since the weather is getting colder. The pan seared scallops with heart of palm (pupunha carpaccio) are still a fav. Branzini is beautifully prepared and for the people who are ignorant, the feijoada is the best I've had in NYC (And yes it CAN compete with that of Brazil!!) They have an extensive wine list in addition a sweet, Brazilian bartender named Camila. She prepared a delicious caipirinha!!! Dona Flor is one of my favorites. Decor is incredible - - flooring looks like the streets of Rio. The Buzina Pop team is great - - I know them all. Sometimes the kitchen may be slow but it's well worth the wait. Last, but not least dessert. Avocado mousse melts in your mouth. House sorbet is colorful like a rainbow. For the sweet tooth, try the fudge. The experience was worth every penny. Cheers!!

I travel a lot to Brazil and love it the food but this place is awful and the food is everything but no brazilian, not typical at all. Dont even bother order a caiprinha please, i ordered and alleged Brazilian drink !!!!!! The most famous drink from Brazil taste like mojitos. Food took so long and when arrives guess? Awful. Im not sure if the person who owns this place really knows about brazilian food. The manager was just having fun and walking around like a fashion week.... Is like a joke. Now i know why Circus is so many years around and always good service and great food. Very expensive, bad drinks and imature service, food no coments just a bad experience.

Very nice brunch while sitting outside on a quite side street.
It is not Daniel Boulud but has that little something that brings you back for more.

Cutest little find in the neighborhood..Amazing for brunch, great food, super friendly and helpful staff, YUM food. prices are similair to any other restaurant - very different menu options, adding that extra kick to a sandiwch or eggs. Definitely a great quiet place to catch up with friends and have a fun meal.

I was lucky enough to be treated to dinner at Buzina Pop for Valentine's Day/my bday. The place is truly a joy to have in such a neighborhood (which is mostly filled with uptight folk/businesses). On the contrary, Buzina had downtown flare with a touch of sophistication. The food was yum, the drinks were even better! The portions are small (but considering the attention paid to preparation and the fact that you would probably get a three, or five course meal, like i did - it's perfect). The wait is also long. My boyfriend was wise to make a reservation - make sure to specify whether you want to dine upstairs or downstairs - upstairs is more intimate as it is away from the entrance fo the restaurant and has a less busy bar. Service was slow, but if you're in good company and have money to splurge for delicious cocktails while you wait, then your patience shouldn't run thin. Don't choose this place if you're on a budget or strapped for time. Remember, Brazilians are known for taking it easy, and if you can't do so, this isn't the place for you.

So, here I am going out of my way to go to this place on the UES. I get there for lunch, not a single soul is on the restaurant. Have a drink ..wait a few more minutes. Nobody walks in. This place is dead for lunch..which is fine. Anyway I decide to try the Kobe burger. Burger looks good except that it comes out rare (red soup and everything) when I asked for medium. ... I mean if there is no person on this restaurant and the grill man can not do a burger I don't think I want to come back. Ohh wait it gets better the owner/manager walks by and asks is everything o.k. with your burger..I say no, it is not cooked the way I asked...ohhhh o.k. and she leaves WHAT DA!! Well aparently these place is owned by models or something here is a message for you: STICK TO YOUR RAG BUSINESS AND LEAVE THE FOOD to people who really beleive in the service industry. I hope you guys go belly up soon!

One Saturday looking for a Brazilian Place to have brunch with my best friend I made a search at google and I found Buzina Pop (Horn ....noise....in Portuguese)... Well, our experience was great! Starting in the entrance that says "We serve French food in Bikinis"... The Host nothing less / more than the owner, a French person with a Brazilian heart . We were seated in a lovely and very decorated dinnig room. Of course we asked for the Tradicional Brazilian Cocktail named Caipirinha prepered by the owner and came with a piece of Suggar Cane... Was delicious! We started with a basquet of Brazilian and French Breads, with "prato cheese" and one delicous olive oil.. My friend Julia asked for a salad with buffala mozzarela and tomatoes, and I orded a pulled pork sandwich. Booth plates were looking delicious and it was really good! For my friend suprise "the tomatoes are hot and very very tasty"... My salad was missing the Balsamic Vinagrette that they didn't have, but the shining of the owner all the time speaking an english, Portuguese and French made our day! A wounderful staff also made our Brunch very happy and lots of laughs! Well, Was a very very good experience, and we already spoke to our friends to have a dinner over there, and we are sure that it will be perfect!

I was very positively impressed by this small Brazilian restaurant in the Upper East side. There is no other restaurant in town that combines sophistication and authentic Brazilian food. Environment is very cozy and trendy, with a lovely and soft background of hits and classic Brazilian music. Dishes are simply delicious and presented in a way that impresses. Recommend the ?carne seca? risotto and ?tapioca? squares for dessert. Brazilian or not, you?ll love this place.

Great Brunch but the portions are very small and adding on a lot of sides made it a little pricey for what it is. The pancakes are great but should be a side since there are only 2 small ones. That is the only complaint. The service was very nice and the atmosphere is fun.

This is a great, realtively new, Brazilian spot. Discovered it by accident through a very positive review of the architecture/design. Food is unusual "nueva" Brazilian - not exactly traditional dishes, but definitely Brazilian in influence and ingredients. Ate with four people and all our appetizers and entrees were great. Waiter was knowledgable, friendly and prompt. For dessert had an avocado mousse with a cachaca reduction - very unusal, and delicious! We ate upstairs, which is much quieter than downstairs, which is where the bar and outdoor seating is. Big downside: price. This is not a cheap place, and probably somewhat overpriced relative to the casual atmosphere and the food. With an appetizer, entree, desert and a couple of drinks and/or wine, tab could easily be $75-100 per person. If prices were maybe 20% lower I would rate it a 9 or 10.

Possibly the worst restaurant I've been to these past couple of months.
The service was slow, the waitress was set inside at the Bar restaurant, together with 2 more waitress, drinking and having fun with the Bartender. The food was horrible. I paid 26 dollars for one crispy cod fish was without flavor, dry, no salt no flavor at all, For my luck I got an extra special plate for my friend delicious Salmon with cumcumber yogurt sauce very taste, and Kinoa ginger sauce (Kinoa is very rare to find and that one was delicious). I asked for talk to Chef and came one very friendly and real Brasilian girl expalin the plates for us (even she was busy and all kitchen stuff was working very hard, betwen the waitress was set inside and heaving fun with bartender. She was very nice and apologize for all incoviniences, she also sent to us one the most delicious sorbets exotics and yummy. I wish i can go back and have other experience, in that time much better then my first one. The place is very very nice, the music is so cool and i want to believe everything will workout. One more thing the runing food Eric (Brasilian too) was very helpful and i sugest for more Brasilian waitress, also he is very cute!

I've lived in Bahia, Brazil and am an avid fan of Brazilian foods. This place has an ecclectic mix of the trendiest dishes with some twists on classics. The service was friendly and prompt. Overall was a great dining experience except for the signature caipirinhas that they rave about. Agua Luca is used to make their drinks in this spot...and they taste horrible. Stay with water or an alternate beverage or it could ruin your whole meal.
