Pros: Wide selection of cocktails, wine beer great food!

Cons: What are the drawbacks?

Six is a standout in a city dominated by chain restaurants. It specializes in tapas and martinis, and has a great atmosphere. The American Theater is just down the street, and this is a favorite spot for folks attending events there - both before and after. The performers often come here after their shows. It's especially fun to sit at the counter and get a cooking lesson from the chef. If it's summer, don't miss the basil watermelon martini. Say hi to Scott, the friendly bartender. Try the scallops and for dessert the s'mores are fun. If you are going to have only one meal in Hampton this is definitely the place. I'm a local, and will be heading to Six this very evening.

Outstanding tapas and martinis. The two page food menu is half "hot" dishes and half "cold". Some have lots of meat or seafood. Some don't. Some have tons of tasty goat cheese. Some don't. There's something for everyone. If you just want a drink, you can get anything from a hard-core gin martini to the sweet (but still extremely potent) "Trifle": raspberry Stoly, Chambord, and Drambuie. Anyone can toss a few ingredients together to make a drink, but it takes skill to get the proportions, temperature, and presentation right. These guys nail it.

This is an outstanding date place (two window seats), but also a good stop for the whole family (provided the kids are either older than 16 or extremely well-behaved for their age). It gets packed on Friday and Saturday, so the best time to go is during the week.

Service is great, too. Every member of the team has a vested interest in this place: all the employees are listed by name on the front of the menu.

I just discovered this place and wish I wasn't moving away! Equals anything I've ever experienced in NY, SF, LA, Chicago. Go now before word gets out!
