While we enjoyed the extraordinary experience of this small-town dining treasure, the unexpected cost of a single "special" nightly entree at twice the average price of the regular menu entrees will most definitely affect our decision to return. If the recitation of the specials cannot also include a warning that the price will vary dramatically from what those prices printed on the menu, then patrons should proceed at their own risk and prepare to pay upwards of $100 or more than expected.

Pros: tasty small portions

Cons: unexplained costs for non-menu items

Having been to Italy twice, I actually think this food is BETTER than what I had in Italy. I've eaten there about 5 or 6 times. It's the best restaurant in Memphis, bar-none. The pasta is fresh and flavorful. The specials are incredible (meat or fish). Desert is tasty. Wine list great. And the staff is attentive. I highly recommend it.

The downside? It's a little pricey especially if you do the "feed me" option (where the chef prepares special dishes which are not on the menu. But if you're a foodie who's ready to lay down some cash, I can assure you, you will NOT find a better meal... anywhere.

I was amazed at how good the food was. The wine was also fantastic. I definitely recommend this restaurant without hestiation. The chef came out and kissed me on the cheek. True Italian at it's best and I would say better than NYC or Boston.

I have dined in some of the top-rated Italian restaurants in the world and I've also eaten in small Italian neighborhood places run by mom and pop. I would give Pasta Italia 3 stars in comparison to great NY/Chicago establishments. One of the best in the Memphis area. .

Having traveled to Italy I soon found that Italians love to eat. They are not a people that pick at salads or snub their nose at carbohydrates. More than anything, Italians seem to understand that food is life and that eating consciously and well is one of the great pleasures afforded to humans.

When it comes to Italian restaurants in the Memphis area, Pasta Italia is in a league of there own. The service was impeccable, the ambiance was perfect, and the food was absolutely marvelous. My sincerest praise to owner and Chef Michele Doto, who has created a gem in the heart of Collierville. One notable difference in Pasta Italia is its authenticity. It??s not good Italian food served American style. Its awesome Italian food served Italian style. I felt as though I were in the finest restaurant in Italy. Thank you for a most enjoyable evening. We will be back.

As someone who considers themselves a foodie( my husband and I are both transplants from major cities (NYC & Chicago) to Memphis) Pasta Italia is the best restaurant in the city. We have eaten at some the best restaurants with some of the best chefs in the country and this restaurant is the only Italian eatery that could be placed in the same league. It is a little pricey by Memphis standards and the portions are small but do not let this turn you away, because the dining experience is worth it. It annoys me to read some reviews where people have objected to the portion size for the price. I wish people in this city would learn how to appreciate an excellent restaurant when they come across one that doesn't pile heaps of fried or BBQ'd food on your plate. Its no wonder why this city is plagued with obesity and heart disease. Go to PASTA ITALIA you will not be disappointed.

This is my 3rd (yes, 3rd) time moving into and living in the Memphis area. This time I settled in Collierville.

Pasta Iltalia is hidden in the quaint Collierville Square, and it's a jewel. I was fortunate to be treated to dinner there by a friend, and I will never forget the experience.

It is a charming and intimate setting, and the servers and staff are there for you at all the right moments. The food is nothing short of spectacular!

Please give it a try and see for yourself!

Rebecca K, my thoughts exactly. I stopped there bc I am a new resident to Collierville and just happened upon the place. I was overwhelmed with how AWESOME it was!!! The food was exceptional, no doubt the best Italian food I've ever had. I was in the middle of dinner writing my parents, sister and fiancee messages about how good this place was. Today when I got to work, I continued to talk about it so much, until someone else across the room, jumped out of their seat and came and told me their story about it. I've been to restaurants all over the world, and have never been so amazed about how good the food was. Your right, it is pricey, and the economy sucks, but I think I'm going back there tonight for the signature pasta, ddaaarrrrmmm that stuff was good!!!

WOW
Very quaint and romantic. I can only imagine what the food tastes in Italy! If you don't see something you really want on the menu... tell the owner/chef and he will make you something. Everytime I eat there, I talk about it for days....very strange. Truly is hypnotic. The owner and lady friend (? I am assuming that because she has an accent as well.) are always there to greet you.
It is very pricey, I do feel bad with the economy the way it is but after you eat you just don't care what you are spending! I highly recommend this restaurant, at least for a special occasion.

Pasta Italia is one of the finest restaurants in the Memphis area. We have not eaten at all the finest places in Memphis, therefore I am reluctant to say it is the finest, but it is indeed one of the finest. Having moved here from Chicago, we are always seeking places where we would be comfortable taking guests - this certainly is one of those places. The dining room is small and intimate. The wine list is all Italian and very good, providing good wines for every taste and budget. We dined there for Valentine's and enjoyed the seven course Valentine's dinner. It was wonderful. The portions were appropriate so that you didn't feel uncomfortable at the conclusion of the meal. The service was great and the chef was very gracious, agreeing to meet us briefly after dinner.

We will likely return on another occasion simply because we loved it so much. I highly recommend Pasta Italia as very nice, authentic fine Italian dining. Excellent!

Pros: excellent dining experience, especially for Memphis area; Ambience, Parking, Service

Cons: small dining room, not designed for large groups - two couples would be max
