Horrible

by Anonymous

have been to Essential Therapy several times and for the most part received okay service. The facials are far better than the massages since the masseuses don't bother to listen to what you say and do their own thing anyway. I have easily given them over the course of my time going there $1000, plus I have sent referrals to them.

However, this last time was the last straw. Here's the story. My mom comes into town from Florida about once every three years. She asked me to get her a facial and I decided to make it at Essential. While she was there, I figured I would get a massage.

We arrived at our appointments well within the time requested. My mother's appointment was at 11am and mine was at 1130am. We went downstairs and we changed into robes. We were waiting in the waiting room until 1115 when I finally walked up to the front desk to ask people where my mother's facialist was. Apparently, she had not come in. And it was not until I walked upstairs that the girl at the front desk decided to call her to see where she was.

It turns out that she was not coming in. There seemed to be no surprised or understanding. She said it to me in a very matter-of-fact way, with no remorse. I was mortified and upset. I had planned this to be a special mother/daughter day but nothing seemed to be going right. My mom changed her clothes again and we left the establishment because of their mistake. I said, "We're leaving." And they were still totally unresponsive. They did not say, "We will charge you; you better not leave." They did not even make eye contact with us as we were leaving. No apology...nothing.

Today I was checking my credit card charges and I see I was charged for "canceling" the appointment. I called Essential, certain that this was a mistake and sure that they would remove the credit since I was a good customer and since I left because it was their problem. However, the manager told me I was still responsible and that it was my choice to leave. He also said that my mother should have waited for me to get my service even though her facialist did not show up. Therefore, he was not removing the charge from my card.

I cannot believe Essential is willing to lose $1000 more dollars of my money for a measly $78 bucks. I will never go there again. There is no way I should be responsible for their mistakes and rude behavior. I can only imagine that if I did not go up to the front desk to ask what was wrong, we would still be sitting there.

Here are some interesting articles on the establishment.

What a horrible place!

by Anonymous

Wow, I have to say it takes alot of talent to make a horrible spa, and these people really did it. Lets see, bad staff attitudes: they are really rude. And I mean super, amazingly rude. I came there to get a massage, and when I left, I was so upset and stressed from my interaction with the front desk people and the manager, that I was almost in tears. I actually called a friend immediately after leaving and told her everything, and she calmed me down. But seriously these people are not in the relaxation business: they will be rude and don't care. They didn't care how they treated me. But now I'm writing this review, so other people will know better than to come to this horrid place. You can't be this horrible in customer service, and think that it's not going to come to bite you down the line.

Homely atmosphere at great prices!

by LT1175

I really like this place! I have been here many times and enjoy that it is small and intimate. The services I have gotten, mostly massages, have also been great. The last time I was there, though, I noticed the hot tub did not smell so pleasant. The bathroom in the women's locker room is also a little tight. And if you have a massage in a room off the main gathering area, you can hear people talking. The most recent visit was my least favorite because of that last reason. But for $70, can I complain? I have had a couples massage there before, though, and found it to be wonderful.

Pros: the price, the intimate atmosphere

Cons: small bathroom, stinky hot tub, thin walls

I found my new therapist!

by CSMobileUser

I was recommened by a co-worker due to my neck and upper back issues, I had an appointment with Kimberly.. Not only are her skills unmatched, she knew what my problem was before I could tell her, she was asking questions that I didn't think of! She works deeply but to my tolerance and most of all she found some knots I didn't know I had! She is a knot whisperer:) I felt so much better, I left with no headache and she even cleared my sinuses too... I have tried several spas, clinics, etc..I can't believe I found my match... I'd recommend this place to everyone, but if there's something specific, she's your girl, trust me..

Good Massage

by lloe

I can highly recommend this place. I have been experiencing pain and discomfort in my lower back for more than a week. My girlfriend suggested that I get a massage before going to a doctor to see if it would help at all. So I went to this place for a one hour deep tissue massage and it really did help a lot. The discomfort that I was feeling when I move my back subsided the next day and the pain is considerably less when I lie down or turn my back. Other than their great massage, the place was nice and the people were friendly. Highly recommended!

Pros: showers, jacuzzi

Cons: tips cash only

Horror story

by workchi

we were told they would come back and get us from the sauna room (there are only 3 public rooms- so not large place). 30min into our appt, we went to find them and they said they were looking for us in the waiting room. Complete miscommunication on their part but to make it worse- they would not go through with the massage NOR would they reschedule. they were complete d-bags about it when I was trying to remain calm and professional. while I was there, two other customers complained about them waiting well beyond their appt time. what a circus..

I am disputing all charges, even the ADDITIONAL charges, but I hope you will just go somewhere else simply based on the fact that the mgr, Carlos, is just a plain ol' douche.

Pros: sauna

Cons: management

Awesome

by Mrgr

I paid for a massage for my girlfriend and as soon as she had her massage, she bought me one because it was so good (actually she bought a couple massage which is even better). They are awesome... great massages, great customer service and great atmosphere. We plan on going at least once a month; the prices are good too. You have to try this place!

Great Massage

by caraPS

The best deep tissue massage I ever had...and I've had many. I felt like I really got my money's worth, the spots on my shoulders were almost gone and for sure I? m coming back to keep working on it. I truly felt much more relaxed and less stressed afterwards. I highly recommend it.

Pros: Nice settings, convenient location

Lovely

by gogreen123

I had a good experience at Essential Therapy. My massage was one of the best I?ve ever had, my therapist did a beautiful job, listened and responded very well to all my requests. Settings are kind of unusual and I see what some other people say: you either love it or hate it, you should experience it for yourself. I personally found it very charming. The place was nice and peaceful and I loved the shower heads.

Pros: good massage, nice showers

Valentine's Day

by theopinated

Nice, simple and cozy!! I rencently went to Essential Therapy for the first time on Valentine's Day as a surprise for both my bf and I, everything turned out exactly how I wanted!!! We arrived early soaked in the sauna and steam before our massages, we were even treated with a glass of wine and some chocolates. The massage was ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! we wanted to extend our sessions, but considering it was Valentine's Day and they were slammed we weren't able to but, no worries...WE WILL BE BACK!!!! After our massages, My BF and I relaxed in the jacuzzi for about an hour, other couples were walking around. The place smelt good and downstairs had an exotic look to it. Considering that they were busy, we didn't feel rushed or claustrophobic. We had a great time!

Pros: Great massage! Nice people!

UMMMM....NOOOOOOOOOOOOO

by icebaby028

I took my boyfriend there for a couples massage to celebrate our anniversary. The facility is not worth the money at all. The jacuzzi was in an open hallway with two dirty moldy chairs that I would never want to sit on off to one side. Behind these two chairs, is a door leading outside where you can see bags of trash. On the other side, a dirty, old, and ripped mattress propped up against the wall. WHAT?! The sauna was okay. Nothing special. Just like the one in my gym.
The room we had for the massage was so small that the two tables could not fit side by side and was awkwardly positioned. The massage itself was great, the therapist did a good job. But with an annoying fan that sounded like the engine of a 747 jet inside the wall right next to me, it was hard to enjoy anything. The massage rooms are downstairs in the basement so whenever somebody turned on a faucet or flushed a toilet, it sounded like we were in Niagara falls.
Now I know why they're offering the discount. Otherwise they'd have no business. If you only care about getting an in and out massage then go for it. But if you're looking for romance and ambiance...you're not going to get it.

Pros: The massage was great

Cons: Place was dingy, small, and absolutely not relaxing.

Couple Massage

by Katco6

I took my boyfriend for a couple massage. He lost his job and is having a rough time now and I wanted him to relax and unwind a little bit. I?ve been to Essential Therapy before during Spa Week and truly enjoyed my massage. Plus the facilities are great and I thought it would be a very romantic date . It was PERFECT ? I had such a good time.
Side by side massage was excellent ? relaxing but at the same time they managed to get all my knots out ? I feel like a new person. The whole settings are ideal for couples ? private, not crowded, the lounge is gorgeous and sauna and Jacuzzi are definitely worth the trip. Plus we used Citysearch $60 off coupon ? what a great deal! We hung out for another 2 hours after our massage ? no rush, no hurry. My boyfriend was completely blown away and at least for a short period of time he got to forget the reality of the outside world - it was the best date ever! I can definitely recommend this place for a couple massage ? it?s more than you can expect!

Pros: couple massage

Cons: none

THE BEST PLACE EVERRRRRRRRRRRRR

by brainyalex

I have been coming to Essential Therapy for about 6 months now, I've tried several different therapists over the past few months with different techniques and all of them are great. I haven't had a bad massage yet. I enjoy using the facilities (sauna, jacuzzi and steam room) before and after my sessions. No one bothers me, it's peaceful and quiet downstairs with a relaxing atmosphere. I love the aroma, the smell of the incense burning throughout the place. Overall, I've become a regular client at essential therapy!!! I've been to other spas in the city and most of them are over priced, over-rated and dirty. At least i can vouche that this is a great spa and i would HIGHLY recommend this place to EVERYONE!!!

Pros: i love the place, the friendly people

Cons: i can't come as mush as i'd like :0(

Worst Spa Experience of my Life

by khollan2

While I have read many, I have never actually written a review before - until now. I received a gift certificate for a massage at Essential. I called and asked if I could change it to a facial and just pay the balance (massage was $110, facial was $130). I was told that would be fine.

Arrived at the spa and was greeted by an incredibly rude woman who proceeded to call 3 people to confirm their appointments for tomorrow while I was standing there waiting to check in. You leave your coat and shoes upstairs and are forced to walk barefoot down the stairs to the "waiting area."

The waiting room is loud as you can hear all the activity up stairs at check in. It is certainly The locker room is dirty and cramped. They promote "free" use of their jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. They have to make it free because it is so disgusting. The jacuzzi is a free standing jacuzzi in the middle of the spa. So wierd. The amenities are absolutely NOT worth the prices - which are comparable to MUCH nicer spas in the city.

The treatment itself was ok - though they couldn't get the room warm enough on the freezing cold day that I went.

Upon check out, I was told there was an additional $5 "upgrade charge." They didn't even know what their prices were (quoted me different prices than on the website) and again - the woman working the front desk was so unpleasant.

Worst spa experience of my life. It's back to Bliss for me...

Cons: rude front desk staff, dirty amenities

Great therapist, but he's gone...

by tamaryn

I had a wonderful massage a few times with a therapist who was called Kang Sang, but he's not there anymore. I've tried others but it's not the same. Does anyone know where Kang Sang is? I need to find him!

Pros: I loved Kang Sang, but the others just aren't good.

Cons: It's a toss up with the therapists

First time experience at a spa

by sbegum03

So this was my first time ever getting a massage and I decided to go with my boyfriend. We were scheduled for a couples massage which is 60 mins long and the use of the jacuzzi and sauna is included. You walk in and you are asked to fill out a form. Then lead to the lockers which are downstairs. It smells really good because of the scented candles. Which also function to give the room a warm dim light. So the lockers are really cramped together and people really aren't shy. They just whip off all their clothes and walk around with no clothes on...
Then we get back into the waiting area and within 5 mins our masseuses greet us and lead us into our room. We disrobe and are given out massages. He said his was wonderful. His masseuse was Angela. Mine wasn't that great. There were times that the pressure was too much and I had to bite my lip from saying ouch. But after enduring it for a while I did tell her to relieve the pressure a bit. It was better from there on. But now my neck hurts and I realize I shouldve told her to not put too much pressure from th ebeginning. But like I mentioned before it was my first time at a spa and now i know. Overall I had a great experience. The sauna was about 5 ft x 5ft...and the jacuzzi fits 5 people at a time. Although since I had an early appointment there wasnt anyone in the sauna or jacuzzi...

Pros: Beautiful ambience

Cons: i hated their towels..i had pink fluffs all over me aftewards

My new favorite place for massage

by hhill123

I had no idea what to expect when I made my appointment. I had looked into some other spas on the internet but all of them seemed a little too costly and commercial. When I walked in to Essential Therapy it the atmosphere from the door was relaxing and inviting. The service that I received was very good. My therapist was very polite, personable, kind, and made sure that I was comfortable. I would go there again and would recommend it for anyone who wants quality service for a reasonable price.

Pros: good massage

I'm not a"regular" spa person, but I hadn't had a facial for a while, and the appointment was a gift! I was very pleasantly and thoroughly delighted. My aesthetician was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and sincerely friendly. The products she did use and her techniques made my skin feel so clean and soft and glowing! The staff is friendly and location is clean and comfortable. Overall it was elegant and enjoyable experience.

Worst Spa In NYC

by Anne1228

I have been to at least 2 dozen NYC spas over the last 10 years; I get facials 4 times a year and at least one massage per month. I chose this spa b/c my friend had a gift certificate. Two of us wanted facials, one of us wanted a massage. Upon booking the appt., we were told that the facials would be in the same room. No biggie - yet. So, we arrive and are told to remove our shoes. No slippers are given to us at that time and we proceeded to walk on a floor SOAKED with dirty jacuzzi water in the hall and locker room. After waiting 10 minutes to undress (due to a crowd of 4 people -small locker room), finding sandals (no one showed us where they were) AND asking for keys to the lockers as none were given to us with our robes, we changed into our clothes and went to relax in the lounge. No water or snacks in the lounge. When we asked about water, we were told to get up and go into the corridor to get it from an office water cooler with dixie cups. Also, men who were arriving for services were walking, clothed, through this waiting room while we sat in our robes with nothing on underneath. WHAT THE F? Still, we remained positive as we were just happy to be at a spa and way from the kids for a day. Then, the masseuse comes for our friend and ONE FACIALIST comes to get my friend and I. Once in the room, we are told that only one facialist would be working on both of us for a total of 1 hour fifteen minutes. I was left untouched alot with washcloths on my face as was my friend of course. It was literally half the facial it should have been and we each paid the full $130. We were never told that sharing a room meant sharing a technician. Aftwerword, we asked to speak with a manager and were told he/she wasn't there and were given an email address. When I go to a spa, I expect the spa experience and so do my friends (also avid spa goers). THIS IS BY FAR, THE WORST SPA IN NYC. Perhaps the Manager would consider being on site more regularly?

Cons: Dirty

wonderful!!

by kpicinich

i got lured in here because of a cheap deal for massages and i am SO happy i did! i had a 60 min massage and it was absolutely wonderful. my therapist (kang song?) listened to what my concerns were and worked out just about every last kink i had. as if that weren't enough for a good rating, they had amazing amenities! i didn't get to the steam room, but the sauna was just the right temp, not too hot and overwhelming plus a big jacuzzi! i didn't think it was possible, but i got even MORE relaxed after my massage while sitting in the sauna and the jacuzzi. the showers are incredible...huge showerhead, good pressue...just what you want after a nice relaxing afternoon.
as for the "cons"....they are mostly small. the biggest con i can see is that they have VERY slippery floors and cheap little foam slippers which do not help with the lack of traction. the ladies' changing room is also a bit too small, but not too terrible. while essential does a great job with some small things (plastic bags for your bathing suits) they miss with other things (too small towels, scratchy covers on the headrests on the massage tables that irritated my face a bit)
overall though....i will be coming back again and again!!

Pros: sauna, jacuzzi, spa specials, attentive staff

Cons: slippery floors, small towels that shed on you

Highly recommend

by bewellll

I live in Europe and was looking for a spa to send my friends who just recently got married for couple massage. I did an internet search and Essential Therapy came up. I checked it out as well as others but in the end I went with my gut and booked them here. There was something about the website and I thought the prices were good. Friendly and very courteous girl on the phone had no problem making appointments for a Saturday afternoon. When I talked to my friends after they said the place was really beautiful, that everyone there was nice, it wasn't crowded so they didn?t feel rushed and they absolutely LOVED their massages! Jacuzzi and other amenities were very nice touch. I would definitely recommend this spa and I know that my friends would be happy to return.

worth going there!!!!

by aura7

I have been to this SPA twice, and I will deffinetely go there again. The place is very cozy and clean. You pay for the session of massage and you get an access to sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. (you can saty there all day long if you like).
Another thing that makes this palce great is that they do "disocunt certificate" - at certain times you can purchase half price certificate which is good throughout the year...
The reason why I did not give 5 stars is that I was not quite satisfied with the masseus that I had. (sorry won't give the name):)

Pros: location, atmosphere, pricing

Wonderful expirience

by maryl_l

I love this place. Although it is a big place it is very warm and cozy. It's very clean, I love the people, they are very welcoming. My massage was excellent, exactly what I needed. Every time I go I get booked with someone different, and although each therapists technique is different I have not yet had a bad massage, they all have been great. My favorite time to go is on Sundays I go there and spend a lot of time in Steam room and sauna, it's very nice and quiet. I can probably say this is my favorite place.

My worst experience in any spa, ever

by saralea

I had a horrible experience in this so-called spa. A good massage here costs about $120, and for that money, you want to leave feeling relaxed. Instead, what I got was an unbelievably rude receptionist (which is unheard of in a spa) and an even ruder owner. I had booked a hot stone massage- it was my first hot stone massage, a birthday present from my boyfriend. When the masseuse finished, I started to realize that she didn't use any stones, that I didn't get the massage that I booked. I was very relaxed, so I got dressed and went to pay my bill. The receptionist gave me a bill for the more expensive hot stone massage, and I told her my massage was a regular one-hour. She called the owner on the phone, who basically started interrogating me, "Why didn't you tell the masseuse that she did the wrong one?" Well, I was relaxed and it was over anway, nothing could be changed at that point. Then he barked, "Now, I don't know about YOU, but if it were ME, I'd have confronted the masseuse after the massage, asking her why she didn't give me the hot stone." He was so unpleasant, and the receptionist was basically giving me death stares. And I went there in the first place to just relax and de-stress from my job!!

The second thing that was bad- was that my boyfriend bought me a gift certificate for the massage. I can tell you a whole story about my experience with the gift certificate, but I'll make this short and sweet: Do not, under any circumstances, buy gift certificates from this place, EVER, for ANY reason, for a person that you like.

When I left after my massage, I was literally shaking all over- and I will never ever come here again. I can't even think about this place without getting stressed out.

good massage/great facial

by kkama

While visiting NYC, my friend and I wanted to get a facial and a massage. We found Essential Therapy by searching citysearch. The music, fabrics and dimmed lights all added to the experience, but the highlight was - as it should be - the services We each had a facial with Victoria. She is one of the best Aestheticians I have ever had give me a facial, very relaxing. The massage was also wonderful, my masseuse worked all the knots and the pain in my lower back (which I had in past few weeks) gone!!! Next time we are in town we are definitely planning to be back.

very disapointing

by sarah1977

A friend suggested this place to me because she had seen they were having a great deal and I was really disapointed. The staff was pretty rude and the atmosphere was sketchy. The space is nice when you walk in, but the ambience disapears once you go downstairs to where they do the massages (i.e. you pay upstairs in the nice waiting room and don't see the sketchy downstairs till after....). I thought there was a strange odor in the downstairs waiting room and the massage was really not great. Overall, I would say this was probably the worst spa experience I've had in a long time.

The So Called 'Spa' to Die In

by sprawl

This 'Spa' is really a 'Dive.' The tiny rooms are all downstairs, old and mildewed.
It seems like you are walking through a basement's very narrow alley. It
had a really bad vibe. The massage I experienced was done by someone
with limited experience. I actually couldn't wait to leave. Avoid this disgusting
place, even if they are giving their services away.

Royal Treatment

by mich375

I was looking for a good place to go for a massage, with decent prices, and I chose this place because there were so many good reviews and they had a deal ($75 for an hour massage+use of their jacuzzi, sauna & steam room). I had an excellent experience. The staff was so friendly and accomodating. They treated my friend and I like royalty and made us so comfortable I felt like I was at home (except it was a really luxurious home). Every aspect of the experience was beautiful, I was so relaxed after my massage and we went in the jacuzzi. I just never wanted to leave. I was also really impressed with their bathroom/locker room, very clean and inviting and really awesome showers. I went as a special treat for myself but I think I will be going regularly from now on!

Pros: friendly staff, relaxing atmosphere, massage, jacuzzi, price

Cons: none

Great massage

by ana_p

I went with my mom for a massage last week. My therapist Beth was amazing! I was super tense and sore at the beginning of the massage, but Beth worked out all the knots in my muscles. By the end of the hour, I was refreshed and super relaxed. My mom had a massage with another therapist (not sure of her name), and she was also very happy with her experience. It's lovely, peaceful, and extremely clean and I recommend this place to anyone interested in getting a massage

Pros: love their showers

Stay AWAY!

by visting

I recommend that you stay away from this place! I had a massage here, but it was accompanied by the sound of jackhammers. The masseuse kept turning up the Enya to compete with the noise from outside! She told me that many people had complained about the noise from that room. I asked to change rooms or to schedule a new appointment time. I was told that this was not possible. I complained and asked to speak with the manager. I was told he was unavailable and that I could leave a message. I did, but it was not returned. When I called and finally spoke with him, he was disagreeable and accused me of trying to get a free massage...when really all I received from this place was a free HEADACHE! STAY AWAY!

Cons: Ambiance, Customer Service, Management

Not great

by visiting3

The spa seems like it is going to be a nice upscale place, but it was quite lacking. The general waiting room is dark and has an odor. The women's locker room is quite small and there is a tiny communal area for dressing (more than one person is crowded!). It also lacks the little things, such as hooks on the walls next to the shower or in the bathroom.
There is a rule that people must bring bathing suits to use the communal steam room and sauna, but I saw many people dressed only in towels and no one trying to enforce this rule.
The massage was ok, but not great and the atmosphere in the room was lacking as well.
In general, I would say there are much better places to spend your money.

mixed for me

by nycgiz

Overall, I think its a great place. BUT i have really had mixed feelings on the sessions I have received. I am a massage fanatic, having received them weekly for years, in all styles and practioners. what I like about the place is that it is very low-key, nicely decorated, unstuffy and not too big or crowded. Its a comfy place. My first two massages were very good, top notch. good practioners, worked on the spots I requested, and I left feeling much better and thoroughly relaxed. . I like all different types of massage, although my favorite is deep. My last 2 sessions have been very disappointing.(i had bought some gift certificates). I don't know if they have new staff, but the first massage was very routine and felt like he was just watching the clock waiting to finish, and were pauses during sessions. the second massage was just plainly not very good at all, very choppy, no connection between strokes or flow, awkward feeling, and just not satisfying at all. I felt like I didnt even have a massage, and left with my back still in the same pain (and I had requested specific work on the area, which he barely touched. I ended up getting another massage elsewhere the next morning to alievate the pain). I also in general did not feel comfortable with my therapist. hate to write negativity about this place because i do think they try to make it a quality place, but I think not all the therapists are on par at all. just very disappointing the last 2 times, and am hestitant to go back or recommend it, without knowing the name of a good practioner .

Pros: nice design, comfortable setting, clean, some skilled staff, affordable prices and specials, central location, on time, no sales gimmicks

Cons: some therapists are better than others

such a blessing

by _tf_

For years I?ve been looking for a clean place to get a massage from professional people who care and a Jacuzzi which isn?t scuzzi! Since Feb?07 I?ve been coming to Essential Therapy for massage &water features. The Jacuzzi makes me feel great! I use it before and after a massage. Since I?m coming for medical relief of my 2 spine surgeries I come in the mornings or early afternoons to take advantage of the early bird special. This allows me to come more often, instead of twice a month I can come every week. This is such a blessing for someone with my ailments. I also find that the people that work here are happy, smiley people that help with the positive nature of the spa. Please don?t change and keep up the good work.

Five star spa

by al_a

I?ve been client of Carlos for many years and was very sad when he stopped doing massage. It?s so hard to find somebody good especially if you do massage not just for leisure (I have back problems and if I don?t see Carlos for 2 weeks it starts killing me). Per Carlos recommendation I tried some other therapists (Beth and Raul) and was very happy with my massage. It?s a little bit different style but still they do terrific job. Of course I still hope that Carlos will be back at some point but it?s good to know that there is a place where you can always get a good massage and won?t be disappointed. And I just love the spa ? it?s so beautiful!

We had a 90 minute couples massage and absolutely loved it. The staff was very friendly, facilities clean and my massage was excellent. I highly recommend this spa and can't wait to go back!

Lame Spa Experience

by maddeline

This place is a fake spa. The front desk employees were rude and lazy. The hot tub they speak about is in a basement and is less elegant then a motel above ground pool. My massage was ok-- the male therapist was very young and seemed almost afraid to touch me and to move the sheet around. All in all its a pretty economical deal if you really want a massage-- but the experiece is pretty gross and does not at all feel luxurious.

Pros: inexpensive

Cons: gross changing rooms and hot tub -- basement location

Inconsiderate staff and the therapist did NOT show up!

by jazzydollie

I have been coming to Essential Therapy for years and my experience in the past have always been great. Last week, I had a massage and the therapist was at least 15 minutes late but I didnt think it was a big deal since it was the 1st time that's happened. However, today, I was booked to have a facial and the therapist (Jiya) NEVER showed up. I went to the front desk and ALL they can offer me was a re-schedule or a massage by a male therapist. I opted to re-schedule and went back inside, took a shower and left the keys at the front desk. On the way out, the front desk lady asked me for my name and although I explained to her the whole story about my therapist not showing up, she continued to interrogate me, as if I did not pay for the service (that I did NOT get)!! I was so upset that I just left. The front desk staff have ALWAYS been rude but it was ridiculous today. They have absolute disregard of the fact that the therapist did not show up, never bothered to call and inform me, I made the trip in vain, and the best they can do is RESCHEDULE!! I guess their 24-hour cancellation policy only applies to patrons but not the other way around. I DO NOT RECOMMEND ESSENTIAL THERAPY!

Pros: jacuzzi

Cons: Not punctual (if they even show up) and rude front desk staff
