I wrote a long review about my negative experiences with Metro Lounge that was honest and accurate but for some reason was taken down. All I will say is- do not go here. The alcohol selection is poor, the service is terrible and the staff

Some people want to give no star ratings, well i'd like to give a negative star rating. My friends and I went on a 1/2 off sushi night. Sounds like a good deal but what you don't know is that on these special nights they charge you for WATER! Not only do the make you buy your own water you are not welcome to ANY FREE REFILLS.Don't offer the customers a special and then make sure they have nothing to drink. Secondly, the sushi tastes nothing better than pre-packaged containers that I could buy at my schools grocery store, in fact those might even be better. Not to mention the wait staff that was clearly not trained in....well anything. Futhermore, the wait is unreasonably long. I will never eat here again.

From the moment we arrived at Metro Lounge, it seemed like we were invisible. We sat at our table for about 20 minutes waiting for someone to help us. When we went to try to order food at the bar, they told us to wait for someone to come to our table. When a waitress finally came, we had to wait another 20 minutes for our food and drink orders. I can understand if my food would take a long time, but a glass of wine shouldn't take 20 minutes (esp. when the bartender wasn't that busy and our waitress was chatting with the other waitress). The drinks and food were great, as was the entertainment, but the service only got worse. Our plates were never cleared, and our waitress brought us our check before anyone could order another drink or anything. Additionally, people we were with had issues closing out their tab at the bar - one of their tabs was closed out and signed for by a complete stranger. The bartender was incredibly rude, and only pointed out the owner after complaining a second time. The owner allowed the bartender to continue to be rude, and was unable to give my friends proof that the mis-closed tab and charges was voided. My friends were extremely calm the entire time and only asked for help, yet this seemed to be too much for the bartender to handle.

The sushi here is very good. They service isn't super fast on nights when the sushi is 1/2 off, but that's OK by me. I like having the time to drink and talk.

A word of caution about posting negative comments about your customers on facebook: it's really unprofessional and not good for business. I wouldn't complain about a wait, personally, but I also don't like to frequent establishments where I worry there will be comments made about me on a medium like facebook. Keep it positive because there is so much good to focus on.

Metro has great food and is well worth the visit.

Had a great time at Metro on Westcott Street. Live music is varied and always good. Drinks are special and so is the Sushi. Hey, you can't go wrong with half price sushi on Mon and Tues. Place is certainly an improvement to the Syracuse scene. I was looking for an alternative to Armory Square in downtown Syracuse.

My friends and I go here very often, but the service i received on my past few trips was less than satisfactory. The waitress never came back to offer more drinks, the bartender had to serve food due to lack of server experience, some requests were never fulfilled (apps & extras) and it took 2 hours for dinner for two people and there were only 3 other parties in the restaurant. Unfortunately, I know of several other sushi restaurants (a little more pricey) but we will be going there from now on.

Service was ok... kinda slow considering the fact that there were 4 other people in the resturant when I was there. Sushi was awesome. Atmosphere (no band playing) was great. I was definitely impressed.

A group of us went to this restaurant for the food. Our sushi tended to fall apart. It took 40 minutes to receive our spider rolls and california rolls. I ordered the pot stickers and was very disappointed. They were actually FREEZER BURNED. Needless to say, I won't be going back there any time soon.

I love sushi, and this is not the place for anyone who loves sushi. The place is very well done as far as the look is concerned but the product does not match the environment . One thing I noticed right off the bat, there are NO Japanese people to be seen anywhere. I thought I would give it a chance anyway but the sushi reflected the lack of culture. The fish was not fresh (slightly discolored at the edges), the rolls were loosely rolled making it hard to get it to your mouth in one piece, the rice is not seasoned correctly and it menu is WAY over-priced for what you get. The service was nothing stellar, sushi plates piled up on our table and were only collected when the bill was dropped. If you love sushi, this is not the place to go - try Ichiban where a REAL, live, Japanese person who knows what they are doing places beautiful, delicious pieces of sushi in front of you. i will give it another chance someday hope things improve.

Pros: environment was fantastic, drinks were as expected

Cons: lacks authnetic feel, music was poor

Classy lounge, cheaper than downtown, and really nice staff. You can usually find a seat, although it does get a little crowded. Mixed crowd, very fun atmosphere, and great for groups. There's also live music on Fridays and Saturdays, which can be a bit too loud for conversation. It definitely makes dancing fun though!

First off, I think Metro will thrive and iron out the kinks I've encountered. The look is just gorgeous, the woodwork even stunning at times in it's line and concept. I see why it took so long to finally open! Well worth the wait! The sushi was good, not great, but as good as the conveyor belt place in the square. I have confidence it will get better as the place runs for a few more months. The tempura was ROCKIN'! Light as air and full of flavor, the batter was just spot on and fried damn near perfect. As for the bands we've seen, lets just say the entertainment is a bit "uneven". Some bad sound seems to be a bit of a recurring problem, but on one occasion I'd blame the band for being dreadful. We witnessed some very amateur-ish stuff, some of it pretty harsh sounding. Certainly not the vibe you'd expect from the decor. The hard wood makes the room tremendously brassy, and if they were thinking this will be a great performance venue they have a LONG way to go towards making it sound decent. The whole place is wood, glass, and metal, with non-reflective surfaces practically non-existent. Did they get their sound tips from the Bull and Bear?

Big things could be ahead for Metro, just a few bumps to work out on the first leg. We've obviously been more than once, and will be back again. it is well worth a trip to check out! Westcott Street SO needed a fresh, new looking place like this.

So I have been to the metro now about 3 times its super great, It's only 21 and up all day long which rocks because well no little kids crying or yelling or running around, Sushi is pretty good. Most of the performers they have in there are rock in good, only bad note there bartender needs to learn how to make the drinks and if he has to use a little card it's best to do it in a way where the customer does not see it.PS.Cosmo is not just a glass of vodka.
