We all know they carry books but somethings we do not know is that you can buy music here and dvds.I like dvds and buy many from them. The prices are not that bad, People are very ncie to me and everyone. This is known all over Boston. It is a big store and you can go upstairs to find more.
And that's LAZYNESS. Its my own personal hatred for Borders Books that makes me rate it so low. Yes, its really convenient, to have all of your media needs met within one building. DVDs! Music! Books! Magazines! And decent Coffee! Yahoo! But honestly. Withing three blocks of every borders is usually struggling independant stores looking to sell the same merchandise, with nicer, more knowledgeable sales people and better quality pastries. Just poke around a bit before you resign to go into one of these media meccas.
Caf Borders serves sandwiches. You can choose from among 7 sandwiches such as roasted chicken wrap or spicy Italian wrap all for $5.49. A combo with items such as soup, a drink, chips or 1/2 a sandwich is available for an additional $.50 to $1.50.
Their new releases are Kahlua drinks such as a sugar free Kahlua Mudslide Mocha made with sugar free chocolate sauce and sugar free Kahlua flavored syrup. This is available as a freeze as well. You can get this and others like it such as a strawberry smoothie with vanilla syrup and whipped cream from $2.00 for a small; $3.65 for a medium and $4.15 for a large.
One of my favorite drinks at Caf Borders is the Chai Tea which I have had both hot and iced. It is served as the original (which is what I have had); spiced; low carb or decaf. This will run you between $2.75 to $3.75. Also served
Also served for the same price is hot cocoa. Gourmet Hot Chocolate using Joseph Schmidt Confections will run you almost $1.00 more.
I have had many of their Best Sellers. Of course I have had their decaf Cappuccino and decaf Lattes. They are good actually. I do not find them as strong thus not as flavorful as Starbucks but they are much better than the cup of coffee you will get at McDonalds.
Don't forget to pick up a gift card.
This is my favourite place because it has a great location right in downtown, with the subway station across the street. I like toi seat upstairs and and drink a coffee while reading the books,. I like the tons of books on sale that they put outside of the store. The cd's are great and the prices are reasonable.
this is a very nice place just to hang out with friends and stuff. in some borders there are cafes just there so you can get your coffee fix. Music books and all the media things you would need need. The staff there was really friendly and helpful. I often go there for my cds and magazines.
PROS: books
CONS: none
Borders has it all, great variety of books for all ages and interests, gift ideas and places to read before making the final purchase. The staffs were friendly and helpful, never bothers you when you are just resting and reading. Also, they have great bargains on books on sale.
One of the big chains. Carries books, videos, and CDs with many discounted offerings. The store offers a few cozy places to curl up with a book, and a decent selection of books - though it's thin on classics. A nice enough cafe provides a rest stop if you're lucky enough to find a seat; the chairs are guarded jealously by people leafing through new purchases.
DO NOT EVER hang out in the cafe in Borders at Downtown Crossing. I used to meet students there regularly for private lessons. One day I saw someone get their purse stolen (I didn't realize it until after the fact) and then just today I had my own wallet stolen. I even asked someone to watch my stuff for me while I went to the restroom. The jerks went on a shopping spree with my credit cards immediately after. They have a security guard who was totally useless the first time I reported seeing the lady's purse get stolen; I won't even bother to report to them that my wallet was stolen - they obviously don't care.
Not a cool place unless you want to get robbed!
Pros: good location
Cons: worthless security
Borders' hazelnut ice coffee is a guaranteed zing on a summer morning. i drink mine with just skim milk and the flavor is fabulous.
Pros: ultra-friendly staff, speedy service
