I have been going to the Branford All Pets Club since they opened. What first brought me in was the fact I had a dog. The store has so many options for dogs , a large you display , lots of choices on dog food and snacks and even a puppy

I went to the all pets club store in branford and had an amazing experience.I drove an hour and a half from thompson to see this pet store because there is nothing like that over here. I sincerely think you should consider opening a store closer to thompson. I think in the killingly plaza would be a good place because there is a lot of business there. I Bought a stone fish and some other things and everyone there was very nice and educated on what they were doing. I hope that you can help me out in some way. Thanks, Zach Kusek

I was surprised by all the negative reviews for this pet shop. I compared prices for dog food (Orijen Adult) and they have by far the best prices out there. Using my All Pets Club card, I receive an even bigger discount. I have always found their staff (in Branford, CT) to be courteous and helpful. When you add their prices and service to the huge variety of pet items available, this is my first choice pet shop.

We had a pleasant experience buying fish at the Branford All Pets Club. Nicolette assisted us and she was both friendly and knowledgeable. She is an asset to that store.

I worked there for almost three years. All pets club takes amazing care of the animals they sell. I think Its messed up that all you people bash the store. Dogs are like people not everyone is perfect they get sick just as easily as babies. The puppies constantly get taking out to be played with and are around so many other dogs that they are bound to get colds every now and than. All pets club takes the best care of the dogs it sell out of any pet store. If you go to the mall and see the pet store. they are usually coved in poop and in single little cages. At all pets they all play and run around and are cleaned daily.

No reputable breeder would EVER EVER EVER sell to a pet shop. You can often purchase a great pedigreed puppy from a reputable breeder for much LESS than All Pets Club charges! Plus, reputable breeders guarantee the health of their puppies, and you'll get to ask the breeder questions and see the puppy's parents. I have heard many horrible stories about sick puppies from All Pets Club, Wake up! Do your research! Pet shops are the worst possible place to get a puppy! Also, their prices on pet supplies are outrageous. Go to Peppers or Agway or Pet Star.

One great thing that All Pets Club does is partner with the Branford Compassion Club, which is the rescue foundation for stray/abused/unwanted cats in Branford.

This place is great! I love the puppies. The rooms are sorted by pup's size, they are all playing and having a great time! I could just watch them for hours. I got my pup there. They guarantee the pups and require the microchip before you take them. The only thing is they don't tell you the microchip is already in the dog but you have to pay extra for it anyway. They are a little expensive, but worth it for the well taken care of dogs they sell.

I worked for All Pets Club for years.

I wont say which department I was in.
I will say some of the animals come in sick with each and every shipment they receive. Sick animals are then quarantined with little to no exercise and care.

The environment is friendly and upbeat in front of customers, but behind the scenes things can be chaotic. The treatment of employees is horrendous. Low pay, with little hope for a raise, ever. They expected myself and many other employees to do things that were NOT in our job descriptions. They keep new employees on the verge of being fired for morale. I felt personally victimized and picked on. There is absolutely NO seniority system. I was told by many of my peers that I was both "one of the hardest working" and "most under appreciated" of the team. They will hire you, have you doing unfair amounts of work for fear of being fired within the first week, and they will fire you the minute your benefits kick in.

The animals come in sick and many are sold sick. I have seen lizards with dropped tails and missing toes. Although I do have to say, the reptile department manager is a good man. For the most part, the staff is very helpful when you are a customer. I made many good friends while working. However, many managers are fear mongering. Many managers simply do not work and pass off all of their work to lower ranked employees. Picking favorites was a big thing as well, with some workers doing little to nothing in their department each day, and others doing triple the work.

Many animals died while I was working there. Many were let loose in the store, only to be found dead weeks later. Many were accidentally let free outside, never to be found again The reptiles and puppies are stressed and upset 90% of the time. They get little exercise, and no fresh air. Many of the reptiles are in inadequate sized cages as well. The puppy department employees are horribly trained and entirely overworked. Not only must they take care of the most demanding department in the store, with the two page list of "chores" to do each day, but they are also entitled to maintain the store shelves, floor, and sanitation. (including bathroom maintainable)

The fish department is often understaffed and the selection is sub-par at best. The employees in a lot of departments are under trained. Managers pick favorites to cross train. (Often dependent on the "rack" or "bubblelicious ass" size of the woman's breasts and buttocks.) The tropical fish are underfed and the water is unfit for swimming in.

The store has inherited a rodent and wild cockroach problem. The air is stale, and I have even experienced the halitosis of the general manager first hand. The store owner is a warm hearted man that unfortunately suffers from bouts of insanity. I have witnessed fist fights, throwing large objects against walls, and unregulated, open aired snaps of the finger.

The prices on pretty much everything are horrible. But, they are an independent business, so I'm ok with that. The selection of animals and dog food is great between both stores, although I do wish they did not buy their animals from puppy mills and poachers.

They are good people, but they do treat employees like slaves. They have their problems, as I've named above, but I would not completely boycott them.

We purchased a puppy here Jan 14 2008. 48 Hours later the pup is in intensive care at a local 24 hour veterinary facility with pneumonia & parasitic diseases. When the dog woke up ill we brought him to our local vet who discovered these illnesses & immediately recommended a 24 hour care facility. We called The All Pets Club, We were told per their warranty and the Connecticut Puppy Lemon Law the ONLY option we had was to return the puppy to the store for a full refund and they would take responsibility for the puppy's care. We wanted to know if the vet they used had 24 hr care and they did not know and would not give us the name of the vet so we could call and find out. All they said was they would take it to their vet and if the puppy became healthy again we could buy her back. After much discussion it became obvious the store was merely concerned about the costs of care. The vet wouldn't speak with us, It felt as if we were discussing a used car. The pup is in currently in his 4th day of 24 hour care with medical bills over $2000 and growing. Please take our advice and stay away from Puppy Mills such as this.
