I love how the owner decided to rate this place and talk about how there was no smell of lysol or bleach... lol! Anyhow, I brought my 2 small children once and actually had a confrontation with the owner. My cell phone rang and instead of being rude, I stepped outside. When I came back in, the owner proceeded to tell me that I should be taking care of my children and not talking on the phone. Had she been paying attention (there were 2 people in the SMALL building), she would have known that I CAME with a friend (that was clearly watching my children when I stepped out) and her 2 children. It was evident that we were together. We sat together, our children played together.. You name it. Owner was RUDE and the place resembled White's Park in doors. Save your money and go to the park with your kids!

overpriced and the owner was very rude. i like that it is small for moms w/ more than one young kid...but not worth the money and attitude of the owner.

I had my son's first birthday party at the museum- and let me just tell you it was NOT a very good one! The owner Michelle was not friendly at all towards me, or even the children. She seemed annoyed the whole time- and just stood in the corner giving people weird looks. We had a themed party- and she had purple and blue and pink plates (my son is a boy, so I wasn't impressed) There were no decorations- no banner, all that she had was a balloon that said 1... crazy! for the money- not worth it!!!!

I put off going to Kaleidoscope for many months due to friends saying that it was small and not a great place to go. One day our plans got spoiled and I found myself with my son expecting a day of fun, so I decided to experience Kaleidoscope for myself. We had a wonderful time going down the slide, playing Dr., doing a craft and everything else there was to explore there. I began to wonder whether my friends did not enjoy themselves, but if they really paid attention to the reactions of their children. My son was still talking about the place several weeks later. We immediately went back to get a membership so that we can play with the firetruck anytime we want. I hope you do try this place out and realize what a wonderful job was done with the limited space available.

Don't people who "Review" their own establishment with the sole purpose of boosting their overall rating annoy you?

I already read the advertisements on your website, thank you very much.

I read the first review of the museum and was sad for the family that posted the review. They obviously had expectations before entering the museum instead of going in open minded! How big does a place have to be for kids to play? These exhibits are designed with imagination in mind! I was thrilled to find a pirate ship big enough for the kids to climb on, 2 slides and numerous "stores and shops" for the kids to pretend play in. Yeah the toys are things you can buy and have at home but do you have a pizza shop for your pizza toys, a bakery for your other food toys, a vet for your stuffed animals? Probably not and if you do have a home big enough and are motivated enough to build individual play areas to go along with your toys don't you think socialization outside the home is a must for our new growing society! Communication and socialization are two key learning experiences you will definitely find if you leave your toys at home and get out into the world to discover new friends and new experiences downtown Concord at the museum! Check it out I bet you will want to come back again and again!

Upon entering Kaleidoscope Children's Museum I was struck by the atmosphere of the space. Wile the other reviewer was disappointed with the size of the museum I am inclined to think they must not have visited the website prior to visiting. After reading about them at www.nhchildrensmuseum.net I was expecting an atmosphere DIFFERENT from the typical science-based museums we have all been to. The focus was decribed as being on creativity and the arts. We found a craft and easel for painting in the art room and quality manipulatives in each exhibit which were artfully arranged to provide educational opportunities for children and their parents. There are even parent guides in each exhibit explaining how to incorporate math and literacy concepts into playing with your child! I was also impressed with the cleanliness of the space and greatly appreciated the use of green cleaning products. No smell of bleach or lysol, yet the surfaces, floors and toys were impeccably clean and well maintained. While it is a smaller space, it maximizes that space and is suited to their advertised targeted age range of toddling thru 6. I was easily able to supervise 2 preschoolers without being afraid of losing track of one of them, enjoyed a complimentary cup of coffee and met a couple of great moms all while having a great time with my daughter. I was also struck by how little arguing occured amongst the children. There are so many opportunities to engage your child that there wasn't a lot of bickering amongst the children. I can only guess that the other reviewer did not do their research prior to visiting. I quickly joined as a member and my family has visited enough times to more than cover the annual fee in less than 3 months! Truly an exploration into the facets of CREATIVITY!

When I read the words "museum", "exhibit" and "family pass", I think that this would be a facility much larger than a standard store front AND one that had toys and learning tools that aren't just typical household toys. When we arrived at Kaleidoscope Children's Museum, I felt what I was seeing was just the gift shop and that the actualy museum must be much larger. I was completely disappointed in the offerings. NONE of the educational type things you typically see and expect in a true museum. No science, no water or sand tables, no art experiences. Just standard things like play food, doctor kits and dress-up. To think that you can have a year-long pass at Boston Kids - a true museum - for $25 LESS truly says something. I felt like my time and money were wasted at this play room.
