Today I ordered lunch for my colleagues and I, probably abou the 5th or 6th time this month. Today, though, will be the LAST time I EVER step foot in that restaurant again. For someone who is so nice and laid back, that's a strong statement to make, but the way I was treated was utterly disgusting and disrespectful, not to mention I caught a thief.
I ordered a sandwich for a co-worker and a Greek salad and added chicken on it for myself. I got back to my office and noticed that they forgot to add chicken to my salad. No big deal, of course, but I wanted to know if I was charged for the chicken. If I wasn't, then no big deal, but if I did get charged for the chicken, I was going to walk back and get it. I called Jacoby's and explained to the girl what had happened. She said, well, check your receipt and see if you were charged for the chicken. I continued to explain to her that my receipt was not itemized, it just said "No Sale". She said in a very condescending way, well, I guess I won't be able to tell you if you were or weren't charged for it or not. I then told the girl that there is no reason why she should be rude or disrespectful to me, I did nothing wrong. So, she put me on hold. In that time, I looked at my co-worker's receipt, and his said the same thing "No Sale". Interesting, I thought, becasue we paid with cash. (She rang us up separately) The girl who rang me up, Jessica, got on the phone, and I started to explain the situation to her, as well, including that the girl I just spoke with was completely unprofessional. She, too, got snooty with me and as I continued on about the receipt and the "No Sale" thing, it dawned on me that she rang us up as a "No Sale" and then pocketed our cash. I kept asking, well, why does my receipt say no sale on it, I don't understand. She was very nervous and caught off guard and fell upon her words, and said well when I ring people up, I blah blah blah something that made no sense to me and I said, yes, you just give them a fake receipt and pocket the money? She hung up on me. I tried calling back to talk to the manager, but of course, the manager wasn't there. I kept getting hung up on, or they plain wouldn't answer the phone. Because I do not trust people's actions, I did not walk back to Jacoby's myself and continue the conversation. Instead, I am going to contact the First National Building for the manager's information and let her know what is going on there. I am so grossed out by the employees there, and to know that they are just pocketing money from those customers that pay in cash. As I said earlier, I am seriously the nicest and most caring woman you could meet, but unfortunately Jessica messed with the wrong nice person on the wrong day. I hope I get her fired. What a disgusting thief and pig.

On March 23, 2007 I placed an order for $121.52 from Jacoby's Bistro. Some how two of my orders were accidentally forgotten which was not a big problem. However, I tried calling Jacoby's to let them know what happened, but their lines were busy. Since they are not very far from where I work I decided to walk there. Well when I arrived the phone was intentionally placed off the hook so that they could not receive any incoming calls. I talked to one of the managers and he was very nice about the situation and apologetic about the forgotten orders. Needless to say one of the employees was not. She started behaving in a very non professional manner. She stated that she was tired of people always trying to get free food etc. Not to mention that the orders that I place are always corporate and we always spend $120.00-$150.00. I think that every customer should be afforded good customer service. Since I was not afforded good customer service my company will never order from them again. There are too many other restaurants in the downtown area that my company can order from. It is so unfortunated because we really enjoyed their food and service until now.

This little deli has great food. Fresh and delicious. Friendly servers and even a return incentive with a coupon on every reciept. The portions are huge- well beyond a single serving. I have personally addicted 5 others to their chicken salad and have heard raves about the hot items. Give it a try!!!!!

This bistro is located in the First National Building in Detroit - just a little further down from the sundry shop. The food is marginal. The service do not like to be corrected. Finally, it is too too too expensive to eat there. Everything is so overpriced, it is not worth the money or the time.

PROS: Location
CONS: Too expensive for what you get
