Perfection

by rhead

My husband and I recently moved to Portland and have a wonderful new home to decorate. We purchased two carpets from Brian and Rebecca at Kush. The reason I describe Kush as perfection is the combination of quality, integrity, and service. It?s rare. During the sale process they worked with us to answer questions and join us in the adventure of picking out two rugs to bring home. Also rare, no attitude. Part of the process is to bring home a few choices and live with them for a few days. A great thing to do in evaluating what will really work in your home. A month after purchasing and living with our carpets we had a few maintenance questions. Rebecca was at our house and walked us through the information that we needed. Very rare to get service on that level. If you have wood floors and are looking for a wonderful
carpet(s) that are actually a unique piece of art, visit Kush.

Pros: All good

Cons: None

Rugs for all...

by clifdex

Not only is this a beautiful space in which to shop, but their selection is ever-expanding. I challenge someone to go through the stacks here and not find something to take home. The customer service is excellent, and they are very understanding that these are major purchases that should be thought through. They will help you get what you really want with no pressure at all. Surprising perhaps to some is that this place is kid-friendly -- the owners know how a rug REALLY gets used and they aren't afraid! Also notable is their dedication to sound practices, such as child-labor-free handmade inventory. I have 4 pieces from this store, from small to large, and I adore each one. Shopping here makes me feel special, and the feeling continues with the rugs in my home.

Pros: kid friendly, good service, good selection

Cons: most of us can't afford to take them ALL home

Best rugs in town

by ericjohnroth

We have a large KUSH rug in our living room- we planned the entire room (furniture, wall color, and lighting) around the rug- it's wonderful color scheme and nuanced design MAKE the room. These guys are the best in town at listening to their customers and work hard to meet their needs.

Excellent selection and service

by mhccgary

Highly recommend this place - I've been searching some carpeting for my house for quite a while. It seems like there are too many choices in some places and too few in others. Here, I foudn the selection to be just right. Also, they really helped me narrow down my options and even offered to have me take the 3 finalists home to see which one would look best. When I decided on which one to purchase, they also provided me with care instructions and followed up the next day to make sure I way happy with my purchase.

Pros: Good selection

Terrific store and owners

by pdxspree

This is a terrific store which takes pride in selling high quality carpets that are produced in a socially responsible manner. The owners are very nice, exceptionally well versed in carpets, and were very helpful. We went to some of the major carpet vendors and found this shop refreshing and worth every penny spent.

Pros: Great selection and product knowledge

Cons: Prices may be high for some

Best Oriental rug experience ever!

by bsmith70

I have bought several rugs in Portland and San Francisco and found my experience at Kush to be one of the most enjoyable thus far. The store is owned by a couple who has real passion for Oriental rugs. For a small gallery they had a diverse selection and let me try several carpets before I mad a final decision.

Pros: Straight forward and fair.

Beautiful selection.

by dsmalls

Loved the selection. the owners took the time to answer all my questions and show me tons of stuff. As a life long "ruggie" it's nice to see a quality rug gallery on the eastside. I'll be back when my remodel is finished!

Went shopping for a bottle of wine, and came home with wine....and a carpet!

by stuswife

We went out with the intention of buying a few bottles of wine, and in our search came across an amazing little rug shop, owned by a husband and wife. They were great, answered all of our questions, and let us take the carpet home, to see if it would work out. Over a bottle of wine we decided we could not live without it. Thanks Brian and Rebecca, you guys are awesome!

Pros: Lovely space, easy to find, and fabulous lunch right next door.

Cons: None.
